It’s the shortest month of the year and Valentines Day is almost here.
Be good to yourself and lose this extra pounds and gift yourself the joy of meeting your goal.

Weighed in at 57kgs this morning. Goal weight for end of Feb is 56kgs so fairly modest. I have a birthday coming up so I know I won’t be golden all this month.

57 is also my personal plateau so Feb is the month I want to break that and stay consistently in 56kgs.

Yay! Thanks autumn.

1 kg sounds very doable but I know how hard that last tiny bit is.

Well I was feeling like January had been a bit of a write off but I just checked back and I started the month at 11 5 and this morning I was 11 3. Not earth shattering but a step in the right direction.

More importantly my park run time is 48 seconds faster than the beginning of the month. And my Achilles barely hurts at all. Grin

I'm going to start the month with a golden week and try to get to 11 1. That's my healthy BMI weight so after that I tend to lose motivation but I definitely want to get there.

(Ignores evidence that I'm not 5'6 any more Blush)

Hoolahoophop · 02/02/2019 12:13

Thanks Autumn.

Autumnnymph · 02/02/2019 12:24

@Kick for me the struggle to lose bas been much tougher once am in the healthy BMI. My current BMI is 23 and due to genetic and medical reasons I would like to bring it 21ish. My big goal if you will is to hit 53 kgs before my holidays in July and then maintain it for rest of the year.

Thanks for the new thread Autumn, I saw the title about loosing 7 pounds and nearly spat my tea out! I would ideally like to loose a further 5 pounds this month but only 3 more Saturdays to do it, so it’s going to be tough as I also have my wedding anniversary and Valentine’s Day.

Well done kick that is an amazing park run achievement

We went out for lunch at pizza express and I had the salad, making healthy choices is just getting easier plus now I see how baggy my size 14 jeans are the more motivation I get to loose a bit more so I can buy a 12 😇

Keep thinking positively- we are all going to smash February and keep looking out for the non scale victories, our success isn’t just on the scales 🙌

Autumnnymph · 02/02/2019 18:32

@Dashel I agree making healthier choices does get easier. I have set myself the modest 1 kg goal for Feb because its a short month. I have actually been quite golden today despite us going out for lunch.

Next week is going to be tricky as i have lots of work related travel. I am going to plan ahead and carry healthy snack pots that i can easily eat on the go.

Well done on the park run @kick - with the cold i am barely moving - i have had a mostly duvet day today due to period related stomach cramps.

Has anyone else found that as they lose weight they feel cold? For the past few years that i have been in the "healthy weight" range albeit on the higher side I am always feeling cold!

OP posts:
Dashel · 02/02/2019 21:27

I have always felt the cold, hopefully it won’t get worse as I loose more weight!

Lucked · 02/02/2019 23:38

I am going to join as I need to stay motivated. I have lost 21lbs since October and I am now about 3lbs above a healthy BMI but goal weight is about another 21lbs.

I would like to lose 4-5 in February although I think it will be tough. I am doing 5:2 and fast days are sorted but I lose the plot a little at weekends.

I weigh Monday’s to try to keep me accountable for weekends (doesn’t work)

Foreverlexicon · 03/02/2019 06:28

I am here!
I have steadily been getting fatter this winter and my first goal is just to start eating proper meals again.

Shift work and an up and side winter on the emotional side has led to me grazing on crap.

I’m focusing on getting back in a proper routine of eating healthy meals and picking up my running again (once this snow melts!) as my first step. That should be enough for me to start losing.

It’s day 4 for me. Thursday and Friday were great, yesterday I had brunch and a nice indulgent dinner with a friend. Today I’m going out for lunch and will eat what I like but will likely skip breakfast or just have a banana and then a healthy tea.

I was making a broccoli pasta bake the other night and hestsitated putting cheese on it then remembered it’s the 2 packets of biscuits I’ve been eating on night shifts that have made me gain weight, not cheese on my dinner!

Also plan to do a short workout at home - I do aerial silks and the club has started releasing conditioning videos which is very motivating as I’d like to get stronger for that so targeted videos is a win win!

Wineloffa · 03/02/2019 09:08

Can I please join? I lost 5lbs in January and aiming for another 4 in February. My BMI is now back into healthy range (yay!). If I lose this 4lbs I’m going to treat myself to nice new jeans. I’ve been calorie counting, upping my exercise, cut down on booze.

leesmum · 03/02/2019 09:37

Good morning, well done to those of you who are sticking to it and those of you who have seen some weight loss, it's not easy, especially in January Grin
I had a good start to January and then blew it a bit, so along with what I wanted to shift I now have a couple more lbs to add to it!!
I have decided that February will be fantastic and I'm in the right frame of mind to do it Smile
Enjoy your Sundays whatever you're doing.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/02/2019 17:14

Hello everyone! Welcome to the new faces!

Had my last night shift last night so I’m trying to switch back into a normal rhythm today, especially as I am due back into work early tomorrow. I’m actually feeling fine though, plus I weighed myself yesterday evening and I’m still 8 stone 10, so luckily not gained anything!

In Feb I would love to get under 8 stone 7, which is the top end of my happy weight range. That would also be a good excuse to buy some new jeans, which I’ve been putting off doing for months. Finger crossed!

Simonsaysitschristmas · 03/02/2019 21:01

Can I join please? I’m currently 12st10 and aiming to be at the lower end of the 12s by the end of Feb.

Hoolahoophop · 04/02/2019 10:09

Happy February all, I wish moderation of intake and success with the tape measure and scales to you all.

I have to figure out how to control weekends. Week days I do brilliantly, then gorge all weekend and put back on all that I have lost. half a pound loss a week is not going to get me to where I want to be by may. Sad

lastqueenofscotland · 04/02/2019 12:25

Hello! I’ve had a golden feb so far and hoping to continue the motivation Grin

HeyLala · 04/02/2019 12:49

Hi
Can I join for some motivation. Trying to lose a stone by end March. Thought I'd do a lb a week. Lost 4lb since January so coming off slowly.
I'm doing 16:8 and going well. Cutting out alcohol and exercising but mostly yoga and pilates. I do a bit of running but we're not best pals!!
Live to lose another 4 in February. Fingers crossed with all best intentions x

Simonsaysitschristmas · 04/02/2019 15:00

@hoolahoophop I am exactly the same with weekends. Really struggle to stay in control.

leesmum · 04/02/2019 17:03

Weekends are my downfall too 😭

Dashel · 04/02/2019 17:33

Hello to all the new people (I have only been doing this a month)

For those struggling with weekends would weighing in on a Sunday help to keep the goal in sight?

I went for a 3 mile run this morning and a walk this afternoon, 18k Fitbit steps but starving hungry so desperately trying not to snackn

Lucked · 04/02/2019 20:12

Woke up 2lbs heavier than last week and then struggled with my fast day and broke and ate a scone at lunch time. I was raging with myself but my period has started tonight so I am assuming it is all water retention and raging hormones.

Not going to use it as an excuse for evening snacking, going to have a small baked potato for dinner and the night call it a day.

Foreverlexicon · 05/02/2019 05:37

I’m feeling good.
Sunday I was out for lunch and skipped breakfast (I eat first thing anyway) and ended up having Welsh rarebit on sourdough with chips and salad. It turned out to be 1 rather pathetic slice of toast so whilst disappointing, better for my waistline! I skipped the ginormous lovely looking brownie though and had broccoli pasta bake with coleslaw and a tomato and pesto swirl thing for dinner. No pudding!

Yesterday I had a banana and yogurt for breakfast, soup and a tomato and pesto swirl for lunch and bbq chicken, sweet potato wedges, veg and coleslaw for dinner and a pear for pudding. I did an hour of aerial silks for exercise.

Out for dinner again tonight! I think I need to stop socialising 😂 trouble is I’m on a rebound dating spree and I don’t want to look awkward or fussy when I first meet people! Exercise will be a write off today but tomorrow I’m back on shifts rather than awkward training hours so life will resume back to normal. Until Saturday when I’m out again 🙄

But my main aim at the moment is to eat proper meals instead of just grazing on junk constantly and get it into my head that I don’t need chocolate every day so that’s going well so far. I definitely feel thinner and less bloated so I’ll see what the scales say on Saturday.

Weetabix for breakfast and salad for lunch today. The base I’m training at is opposite a McDonald’s and we get free food so I felt very evangical eating my soup yesterday, let’s hope that continues today!

Autumnnymph · 05/02/2019 10:50

Welcome to all the new faces! I have had a golden weekend and week so far but weigh in today somehow shows I have gained 600 gms. I am hoping it’s a blip or some weird fluid retention and my body hasn’t suddenly started accumulating fat in the night when am not watching it 😂

I am hoping to keep up the golden-ness all this week.

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 05/02/2019 10:54

Hi all! Gosh Dahsel, Koko and Wine sounds like you all had great Januarys!

I weighed in on Feb 1st and was inexplicably 100g heavier than the week before, which had been an inexplicable STS Angry Sad I looked slimmer, so I tried not to get too disheartened just because the scales didn't reflect. I'm hoping for a golden weekend to get the situation in hand; last weekend was one of the least Golden of all time!

I did find this old article in the Guardian about how random weigh-ins can be, which thoroughly discourages weekly weigh-ins. Makes for interesting reading, albeit not at all scientific. I just wish I could get back to some kind of vaguely predictable weigh-in pattern. I really had a handle on it for a while there.

Lucked · 05/02/2019 21:46

Aerial silks Forever? Like cirque de soleil?
You must be pretty fit and flexible. Very impressive!
