Happy Sunday! I woke up this morning and FINALLY saw a difference, I think I may have had a "whoosh"! I am at my mum's so have no scale access, but I might make a trip to Boots before it stops raining. It'll be a clothed weigh-in post-tea, but I won't take it too seriously.

It's funny, but I was thinking this week when I was ill and it was raining and my stepping kept being rubbish, that a couple of really good long walks where you come in a bit achey were what I needed. I finally managed one yesterday (although I did get rained on even though I timed it in line with the forecast Angry ) et voila, a difference. I got about 19K steps so not that much more than some other days (had a couple of 17-ers) but it just felt like it hit the spot. I'll try for that again today! It's so much bloody harder when the weather's so horrid.

In other news, I am quite surprised by how quickly my cold's moved on. Started on Tuesday evening with a scratchy throat and almost completely gone now. I went from using about 80,00000 tissues on Friday to almost none yesterday, just totally cleared up overnight, and one day of slight chestiness but even that seems to have gone. I'd normally have an annoying lingery bit at the end that refused to bugger off. Maybe there is something to be said for fasting it away after all... (Also possible I slept it away though...!)

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 10/02/2019 11:42

Quim yes me too. From crawling under the duvet and streaming on Tuesday to no trace by yesterday.

And I definitely haven't been fasting Blush.

The boring explanation is probably that different cold strains present differently and this one was a short sharp one. Also it didn't affect my asthma at all which is what usually has the biggest impact on me.

Well done to autumn and quim for the losses. Not much to report here but I've been to the gym this morning and have a quiet couple of weeks ahead so I have no excuses!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 10/02/2019 11:45

Oh and my target for this week is to start doing yoga again. I started in January and it really helped me sleep better and I think improved my running / breathing but I stopped about 3 weeks ago because of job interview stress and then being ill. I'm going to start again tonight.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/02/2019 12:12

KickBishop and Quim glad you are both feeling better!

Congratulations on the loss Autumn!

I weighed in on Friday morning at 8 stone 8 and a bit, so two lbs down since the start of the month which I’m really pleased with. I’m off work today so I’m having a really chilled day. I wanted to go to the gym but I slept in and missed the class Blush. I would quite like to go for a walk but it’s raining here, so I think I might just stay in and relax.

What’s everyone eating today? I’m going to have a lightish lunch of mushrooms on some nice rye bread I have in, and later I’m planning on making a (veggie) sausage casserole to have with mashed potatoes. Cold weather food!

Autumnnymph · 10/02/2019 13:21

It’s leftover pizza for us @spuriouser

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 10/02/2019 13:40

Well, I did go out to Boots (and I did get rained on AGAIN), and I weighed in at...

EXACTLY THE SODDING SAME AS LAST FRIDAY! Angry I've worked so hard and not lost a single sausage! How much does a cup of tea, a pair of (very slightly damp) jeggings and a vest weigh? At least 1.5kilos, right?

(This is me "not taking it too seriously" Grin )

Also MrQuim has moved Valentine's Day to Wednesday, so my 10-day streak has been reduced to 9. Harumph.

I think you're probably right about the strain of cold Kick - I know in the past I've had some which won't clear off whatever I do, and ones which seem to clear off and then come back for another go, so I suspect it's out of our hands. I feel very grateful either way, as my sister's been out for weeks with this horrid flu that's going around, so I was terrified it was gearing up for something like that.

Well done Spurious and Autumn for the losses, brilliant work! Spurious a chilled out day is definitely around, especially on a soggy Sunday.

Autumnnymph · 10/02/2019 14:06

@Quim do you measure yourself ? You may have had a NSV.

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 10/02/2019 15:04

Autumn I don't, I just eyeball it, but you're right - I can see the difference so it's definitely a NSV Smile (I'd almost forgotten about those!)

QuimReaper · 11/02/2019 12:27

I'd like to announce that my jeans are falling off today Grin

It might be that they're cheap jeggings and I've been wearing them for four days, but I'm choosing to believe it means my arse has shrunk!

Autumnnymph · 11/02/2019 17:50

@Quim that is definitely a NSV.

Today when I wore my favourite pencil skirt , I finally felt that my tummy felt flatter than it has for ages - tucking my shirt in actually looked flattering

Okay I’m back.
I completely fell off the wagon last week after falling in a hole after dealing with my ex. Then I got the lurgy which did not affect my appetite but obviously meant I deserved many brownies.

Anyhow, I gained back the 2 pounds I lost and now it’s time to brush myself off and look forward. Game face on!

QuimReaper · 12/02/2019 09:39

Woohoo for NSVs!

Lexi Sorry to hear you had a rough week - as much as anything, I've noticed illness causes heaps of water retention, so hopefully at least a smidge of the regain will be that. (I'm pinning my STS from Sunday on that too!) Whenever I'm ill I hope to look all gaunt and grey and delicate like an Austen heroine (who was briefly caught in the rain and so came down with a dramatic fever and took to bed for 6 days whilst the local doctor and entire family and brusque local whose terse manner conceals a passionate and undying love for my wild ways)... but instead I tend to look like a raspberry blancmange, all puffy and pale and red in blobs Sad

Autumnnymph · 12/02/2019 10:04

raspberry blancmange, all puffy and pale and red in blobs sad

^^ that is the look I am rocking today. It’s my turn to be hit with the lurgy and I feel utter shit today - will see how the day goes !

QuimReaper · 12/02/2019 13:43

Serious sympathy Autumn! I hope you have the strain Kick and I had, i.e. short and sharp and then gone without a trace!

Autumnnymph · 12/02/2019 19:22

It hit me out of the blue last night @Quim so i am hoping it makes as speedy an exit. I have barely eaten anything all day as I just didnt feel like it - i am sure I will make up for it once this goes away.

Well I'm not on the wagon either koko so maybe we both need a prod.

I am in a pattern of hitting 11 4, immediately panicking and getting back down to 11 2 then relaxing and getting back up again.

I really want to get safely back under 11 stone. It's hardly anything to lose but I just can't seem to do it. Sad

I need a week off work. That usually helps.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 13/02/2019 15:47

I don’t think many people are on the wagon at the moment, it’s been so quite on here the last couple of weeks! That’s normally a bad sign Grin

I’m out for dinner tonight which isn’t going to help me, but I’ve got a fast day planned tomorrow so hopefully that will balance it all out!

Autumnnymph · 13/02/2019 20:31

@koko @Kick @spuriouser come join me on the wagon. I have been golden so far but to be fair with the lurgy havent felt like eating much.

I am not expecting much of a loss this week as I havent moved much but hoping to atleast maintain and get the loss in next week.

@kokoloco “tugs real hard” come on in then.

Feeling slightly better today but don’t feel like going out for my planned family dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday so we are moving it to the weekend.

Going to have a lazy day in . Am working from home today and am thinking of wrapping up early so I can just have me time.

How is everyone doing today ? It’s been far from golden for me today. I have finally kicked off my cold and went to work today where my lovely team took me out for lunch AMD got me lovely cupcakes.
DD and Dh Are taking me out tonight for the missed birthday dinner yesterday and tomorrow dinner I am out with friends.
I will just have to balance it out with being sensible for the other meals.
I weighed in at 56.2 kgs yesterday which is very close to goal for me so my aim this weekend is not gain too much of it back.

Back to golden ness from Sunday.

Omg I had the best cream tea ever today at Dartmoor. Home made giant fruit scones (two of them) and this was after I’d tried to choose a less calorie filled main course. I’ll never learn, although they were worth every calorie no matter how many they were. Suppose I ought to cut down for the rest of the week.

Hope everyone is being better than I am.
