Second thread for those who are determined that 2019 is THEIR YEAR.

Fridge do you want to add your spreadsheet link below for ease?

Thanks everyone... is everyone on both threads? I don't want to clutter up the weigh-in thread with my ramblings!

So - in 10 weeks I have a "do"
I am on the organisation committee for it too. Just plotted out that if I lose 1lb a week (hopefully more some weeks) I will have 2.5 stone off. That would do nicely.

TheHoundsofLove · 12/03/2019 09:28

I also find this thread nicely motivating. Partly, I think, because it strikes the right 'tone' for me. We all seem to be taking quite a gentle approach, with no one doing anything too radical.
If nobody else wants to start a new thread, I am happy to do so. Does anyone have any inspired titles we could use?

TheHoundsofLove · 12/03/2019 09:30

I've occasionally posted on the other thread, but don't tend to do so routinely. Partly due to weighing on a Saturday and partly due to the spreadsheet no longer working.

PrivateCello · 12/03/2019 09:36

Sorry I missed you Hounds, I am more than happy for you to start the new thread. Hopefully rest of the gang feels the same!
Fiontar, that’s more than achievable and a modest aim too. A two stone loss will also see me getting to goal and hoping to maintain from there. I will be delighted to achieve that by the end of the year. I have a major event in October. It’s a sit down black tie dinner thingy where I get admitted to one of the bodies I qualified into last year so really looking forward to be close to goal by then.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 12/03/2019 09:48

Would be great if you could start the thread hounds, thank you. Imagining getting to 2 stone lighter is good motivation to keep going! I’ve realised it’s going to take longer than I thought and by the end of the year now sounds good to me too but obviously I’d also like to get as far as possible by summer too Smile I’m going to a wedding in May and need a new dress for that.

PrivateCello · 12/03/2019 10:35

If we all get to goal or close to by the end of the year, maybe we can all meet up before Xmas for lunch to celebrate our losses Grin. Goes without saying that we won't be weighing in for the next two weeks Grin
As I type this, I realise Gruffalo will have a small babe so might be difficult for her so perhaps we should look at next year Grin
Oh no also just realised that MrBob is in Australia and Hounds is in Germany so perhaps it's not a good idea as wouldn't want them to miss out on the gains from all the food and drinks Grin

PrivateCello · 12/03/2019 10:36

You will definitely lose a fair bit by May when.

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 10:52

When - 10 weeks can make a big difference, it's good to have a goal in mind.

Cello - love how you talked yourself into and out of your meet up plan in one post 😂 we might have to do a virtual Christmas party.

Hounds it would be great of you could set up our new thread- something about springing into summer 🏖

PrivateCello · 12/03/2019 11:17

Ha! Fiontar, I started with high hopes and very keen but dang realised we are quite an international team and gruffalo's bub will be too little! Hmm, your idea of a virtual Xmas party sounds good, probably best too as mean we won't gain that much Grin

StealthNinjaMum · 12/03/2019 11:42

Ooh a stirfry is a good idea Fiontar. I could use the same vegetables I make soup with only fry them with some sauce!

Gruffalos I'm sitting here with my mouth open. What a rude cow!

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 11:58

Cello - and I can wear my slippers!

Stealth - my basic stirfry always has frozen onion and frozen sliced peppers. Then I add whatever I have. So currently - water chestnuts, stem broccoli, a ton of garlic, and cauliflower rice (which I oven roasted thanks to great tip on here). I will throw some beansprouts on top when I am reheating it- they only take a few mins.

I don't use any oil / spray, just a bit of water to stop it sticking.

Sauce can be anything from a dash of soy, or I sometimes use the sachet of fajita or taco seasoning you centre buy, with water.

PrivateCello · 12/03/2019 12:23

Oh no Gruffalo, I have only just read your post. Only realised after reading SNM's post referring to it. I am sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope it's just the first trimester effect and it passes soon. Please take it easy. The doctor can also prescribe something for sickness if it gets worst.
And what a nasty thing to say to you, rude rude woman. Some people have no filter at all. Don't pay any attention at all, as it's not a reflection on you but a reflection on her crap personality. She must be a nightmare in real life. She was probably having a bad day and took it out on you, some people are just mean and take joy in bringing others down. Don't let her win by letting it get to you. Flowers

WhenCanISleepAgain · 12/03/2019 12:39

Thanks all and I also missed your earlier update gruffalo Shock Her comment says an awful lot more about her than you! An end of year celebration of some kind sounds excellent Wine

TheHoundsofLove · 12/03/2019 12:47

Cello 2 stones by October sounds very achievable!
Fiontar You can make a huge difference in 10 weeks!
Gruffalo I hope you're not feeling too down - ignore the very rude woman. She sounds awful.
When I have Christmas in my mind for reaching goal too. Although, I have an event in October that I need to buy a Dirndl for - it would be amazing to be at goal by then and be able to buy it in a lovely, tiny size! I still need/want to lose 3 stones, but it could possibly be achievable by October if I got my finger out...
Stealth Hope you enjoy your stirfry!

I will start the new thread now as we seem to be rapidly filling up hopefully not of food !

TheHoundsofLove · 12/03/2019 12:59

New thread:

The 2019 Bunch: Lightly Springing into Summer

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 13:07

Gruffalo - I missed your post too. I am so sorry - I didn't go back a page. I hope you feel less sick soon, and can get a decent sleep. Ignore the rude woman... easier said than done I know, but she is not worth your brain-space!

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 13:18

It would be lovely to have some of the original members of this group on our new thread - I just did a quick "headcount" and on the first few pages of this thread alone, there were about 20 more of us.

Would it be really bad form to tag them in a "please come back" post? The small number of us now are doing so well at keeping spirits high... it's a shame the numbers dwindled

WhenCanISleepAgain · 12/03/2019 15:01

I think you could tag folk fiontar with a gentle message that we’d love them to join the new thread.

StealthNinjaMum · 12/03/2019 16:24

This thread has gone too quickly, I missed loads.

Fiontar I think it would be ok to tag people and say even if they want to come back we'd love to see them.

Thank you for the new thread Hounds.

I have no events coming up although I went on my first date in 20 years yesterday and felt fantastic in a tightish dress that's about 5 years old. I need to buy more date clothes.

Did someone have a link to a workout video a few pages back? My mum tum needs to be toned,

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 16:54

I will do it later from laptop and see how it goes!

Fiontar649 · 12/03/2019 19:03

Hello everyone

We're coming to the end of our second thread, and we've a brand new thread set up to get us as up to Easter.

Our numbers have dwindled, but we're still having fun and supporting and motivating each other as much as we can.

If any of you are still watching, or if you've drifted off track, please join us again. No pressure, no judgement, just a bit of good-feeling and somewhere to chat.

I've been through the first 5 or 6 pages of this thread, and pulled out the names of those who haven't posted recently -we'd love to see you back on the new thread. I'll link it again below. If I have missed your name, that was unintentional - so pop over and say Hello anyway!
