GreyGardens 2 stone by the summer should be more than do able 😃

Welcome back Mrbob At least it’s fruit your now craving

I went for my run this morning. Today’s food;
B- porridge
L- bacon sandwich, banana
D- is going to be chicken breast cooked in a tomato sauce, topped with Parmesan, roasted peppers & red onion, broccoli

TheHoundsofLove · 03/03/2019 16:30

I've not done brilliantly today...I was planning a 10k run, but am hungover, so have eaten cake instead! Grin
And we're heading to the UK tomorrow...am going to have no snacks, aim to limit the damage as much as possible and then get back on track in a week's time!

StealthNinjaMum · 03/03/2019 16:47

Welcome Grey. 2 stone is definitely doable - but even if you only managed 1 you would look and feel amazing. I think this is going to be our summer (i.e. people on this thread), it'll make such a difference being able to wear nicer clothes.

StealthNinjaMum · 03/03/2019 16:51

Welcome back mrbob it doesn't matter how much you've put on as long as you work to get it off. We are all trying to give ourself long term habits so a temporary blip is fine. I am glad you are feeling positive.

I had a 'bad' day yesterday, I went out with friends and I ate and drank loads. I even had pudding and I don't normally have room. But I had the best time and I don't care if I put a little on on Tuesday.

I have booked some pilates sessions and a gym induction, I need to tone up.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 03/03/2019 20:23

Welcome back bob and good to hear how others are doing. Such a helpful reminder again that we can make a huge difference by the summer if we can keep going. Two stones is a significant amount and yes even one stone would feel amazing! Thanks Stealth

PrivateCello · 03/03/2019 20:40

Welcome Grey!
Mrbob, sounds like you had a great time and good to see you back!
Hounds, hope you had a good time whilst away!
Stealth, glad you had a good break with friends and let your hair down a bit and indulged in some good food and drink. Sounds like it did you good!
I have been very ill with tonsillitis, fever and a slight chest infection so the diet has taken a back seat for now for me, just trying to recover and get back on my feet.

Fiontar649 · 03/03/2019 22:26

Help.
I have made a half-arsed attempt all weekend. Still in holiday mode. FFS. Back to work tomorrow, though, and I have my lunch made.
I am really looking forward to starting Lent on Wednesday! (I don't normally do any Catholic-y things these days)... it'll give me a good 6 week push

mrbob · 04/03/2019 02:55

fiontar I found it helpful when I got home (and had slept a bit) to sit down and write why I was doing this to remind myself of how important it is to me. Plus seeing everyone else on here still losing is a great kick up the bum! We just need to adjust and get back on track and we will be fine

TheHoundsofLove · 04/03/2019 06:01

Cello I hope you're starting to feel a bit better.
Fiontar When I get back next weekend, I'm fully expecting to struggle a bit with getting back on track. Like mrbob said - we just need to keep in mind why we're doing this and probably have a couple of very strict weeks, so that we see some instant results again.

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/03/2019 07:02

Morning all . Sorry I am not good at keeping up with the thread but I am here plugging away.
First weigh in today and I am 2.5 pound's down so I am happy with that.
This week will be a tough one so I am going to try and get more exercise in.

Good luck to everyone and I am going to try and pop in more often. It really helps reading how everyone is doing.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 04/03/2019 07:26

Hope you feel better soon cello. Good to hear you’re taking things easy while you recover.

It’s the start of a new week and still close to the start of the month Fiontar so a great time to pick things up again. I need to refresh my diet too because I can easily let things begin to slip over time.

Well done on your loss Howlong!

Fiontar649 · 04/03/2019 07:38

Good work Howlong !
Sorry to hear you're poorly cello - I missed that last night.

Thanks for the support and encouragement folks... I think if I get through today, that will be a start!

comeagainforbigfudge · 04/03/2019 07:49

Morning all. Hope you feeling a bit better this morning cello.

I too have not been posting much. Trying to limit my time online. But weigh in this morning, im 13st 11lbs
Lost 3lbs and thats with not eatimg very well over the weekend Blush deffo not drank enough water either. Feeling that this morning.

This week, plan to drink copious amounts of water. Need to try and find my activity tracker. Or maybe just buy a fitbit 🤔.

Any advice on gadgets is welcome.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 08:40

Hi. How is everyone doing? Are you feeling any better Cello?

Stealth - I’m so glad you had a great time! Who cares if you were “bad”? You’ve done so well over the past few months and this short break to let your hair down is much more important for your mental health than being virtuous and losing another pound or two!

In personal news, I found out last week that I am pregnant. Obviously that is very exciting and all I want is a healthy pregnancy, but I must admit I am feeling very very anxious about the weight gain. With DC1 I was instantly so sick I had to stop all exercising (previously I would exercise 4-5 times a week) and could only stomach beige food. I gained 5 stone Sad. I then lost 3 stone then regained 2 of those when I had DC2. I know I sound terrible, but I think my weight gain contributed to my PND so I am really keen to avoid gaining so much this time (assuming the pregnancy actually goes ok).

PrivateCello · 04/03/2019 09:10

You guys are so lovely thank you so much I do feel much better

Will come back to post properly as running to catch my train but just want to extend my massive congratulations to gruffalo!!
Back in a bit to post more

WhenCanISleepAgain · 04/03/2019 09:23

Congratulations gruffalos! Perhaps you can speak to the midwife to access support on healthy eating in pregnancy? I’m not sure what’s available but it might be worth asking. It’s not a terrible thing to be concerned about and especially given your experience of PND.

StealthNinjaMum · 04/03/2019 09:34

privatecello thanks for that. I realised on Saturday that I had lost 2 stone exactly since November. I felt amazing and want the rest of you to feel as good as I feel.

privatecello I hope you're able to get some rest, that sounds awful Flowers

howlongtilbedtime excellent news, that's a good first week loss.

fiontar just take it one day at a time, one day you will be skinny.

comeagainforbigfudge Well done, you're in the 13s. Never again will you see 14 in your weight. I am wondering about whether to buy a fitbit too.

gruffaloslovechild congratulations. I can't say I blame you for being worried, I'm sure I was depressed after dd2 because of my weight and I would imagine all of us have been in that spiral where we eat more because we're depressed and the problem just gets worse. All I can say is try to eat healthily (obviously not easy if you're very sick), find non food treats and continue with good habits until the time (which may be many months after the birth) when you feel ready to diet again.

Does anyone have any targets for the month? I am thinking 1lb a week but also I am going to do things for myself - some I am in the process of organising. I am going to go to pilates, the gym, buy new sports gear, have my legs and eyebrows waxed.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 09:34

Thank you both. I really appreciate the congratulations.

When - I feel like I know exactly what I should be doing, I just need to actually DO IT! Grin. I struggled so much to eat healthy foods in my first pregnancy. I’m now nervous because I was trying to eat my salads for lunch last week and kept gagging at my desk 😬. All I wanted to eat was crisps, which I hardly ever eat (I managed to resist every day but one). I’m going to try and stay as active as possible, but it’s hard with 2 toddlers, one of which doesn’t sleep, and working full time (I know Mumsnet will tell me I should be going out for a run every night between DC’s 2am wake up and 4am wake up Grin).

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 09:38

Thank you Stealth! I’m so pleased you have a few nice treats/things to make you feel good pencilled in Smile.

PrivateCello · 04/03/2019 12:18

SNM I like all the things you have listed, especially the new sports gear sounds awesome. A pound a week is a modest and achievable goal too. Your motivation is rubbing on me which I need as I feel so lazy these days Grin

When how have you been? I noticed you weren't around much last week, not that I am stalking you mind Grin

Fiontar you are already half way through the day now and hope the rest goes smoothly. The main thing is you didn't continue the holiday mode and jumped right back in.

comeagainforbigfudge 3 pounds is fantastic, well done you! esp if you had a heavy eating and drinking weekend.

Mrbob how are you getting on first day back?

Well done on your loss How

Gruffalo following on the excellent advice given by SNM and When, I just want to add that no baby likes salad so no wonder you were gagging Grin. Don't get stressed as all you will be missing is one summer of being fit but what you are gaining is tenfold. You will be a mum of 3, growing a human being, your children will gain a sibling, your family will grow. It's time to nurture yourself and the weight gain is only a small part of it. It's only one summer. Baby will be here by winter and by next summer you will be fit again. Don't worry. Your body is doing so much for you and now isn't the time to feed it salad Grin

TheHoundsofLove · 04/03/2019 12:37

Congratulations, Gruffalo ! A thread baby...how exciting! 😃

PrivateCello · 04/03/2019 12:44

Hounds are you on holiday at the moment? Sorry I missed that

TheHoundsofLove · 04/03/2019 13:06

Cello We live in Germany, but are heading back to the UK for a week. I've packed my running kit, so can hopefully limit the damage somewhat...

PrivateCello · 04/03/2019 13:16

Ah okay! Didn't realise that you live in Germany. You will probably also be walking around a lot visiting places etc. so am positive you won't gain much if anything at all. The bad news is that you missed all the sunny weather which was incredible last week and this week it looks like it's gonna be raining most of the days but then again that's good old UK for ya and you must be used to it Grin

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 13:52

Awww thank you Cello. Your message actually made me a bit tearful (maybe hormones?Grin). I know you’re right! And what sort of cruel mother feeds her baby salad?Grin. Thank you!

Thank you as well Hounds. It’s very early days but fingers crossed things go smoothly. Have a good week in the U.K.! Cello - I’m up north and it’s beautiful sunshine today! Hopefully the nice weather will come back to wherever you are Smile.
