hounds gruffalo they were ok lindt chocolates. I'm not really a chocolate fan, much prefer savoury food, but I shared them with dds. I have no idea what is going on in ex's head but a valentines gift was the last thing I expected. He wanted a divorce. Moved out. Now isn't sure. He is aware that I wasn't eating while he was living here and probably felt too guilty to mention the weightless but now I've had my my hair coloured, a couple of manicures and spent his money on lots of new clothes and he must've noticed. I don't know what he wants but I am having a good time, going out lots and doing new things, and he is stuck in a lonely, dirty flat while his two children don't want to see him.

hounds of love I use mfp. I still eat the odd bit of crap but it's really helpful to see that if I eat 4 biscuits that's the same as a small meal and it does help restrain me.

StealthNinjaMum · 18/02/2019 18:29

cello not sure if he is trying to woo me back but if he is he has fucked up so much that it would take significantly more than a box of chocolates. Part of me thinks that he now realises life on his own is really shitty and I am a fallback in case he doesn't find someone younger but I now see a pathetic old, greying man. I am now happy on my own. I really didn't expect to feel that way so soon after he left.

Fiontar649 · 18/02/2019 20:07

Evening all! Just popping on while waiting for my dinner. Another week almost ticked off.

Stealth that sounds difficult with your STBXH - take your time making decisions, and put yourself first.

I am off to NYC - diet might be a struggle but might be able to walk some of it off!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 18/02/2019 20:23

Have fun Fiontar! Try to enjoy your time away and don’t worry too much about diet.

Stealth - you are so strong and you have responded amazingly well to a horrible situation HE created. You have your kids, a nice house and you’re now super hot (although I’m sure you were before!). He’s clearly regretting his decision for whatever reason, but that’s not your problem. Just focus on doing nice things for yourself and your kids Smile. If you decide you want to give things another go, make sure he does much better than buying a box of Lindt!!!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 18/02/2019 21:23

Enjoy NYC Fiontar! Another vote for not worrying about diet when you’re away - but to do lots of walking and consider what will help you get back on track when you’re back.

mrbob · 19/02/2019 03:54

Oh no I live in Australia- just on a ski holiday!
I am sorry stealth- sounds like ongoing shitttiness :( It will all come good in the end though.
Fiontar NYC sounds fab. You might find your appetite is less now anyway and there will be LOTS of steps walked. I am hoping over a week of skiing, hiking around the village in snow and some fairly unappetising food (Japan is great if you eat fish but I don’t) coupled with a (TMI) pretty dodgy stomach from the sudden change in diet will keep the weight off.

PrivateCello · 19/02/2019 05:56

Good for you Stealth, why should you accept being second best for anyone and you sound so much stronger now. Ah thanks for clarifying that confusion Bob! Hope you had a great ski holiday. Fiontar enjoy NYC, with the amount of walking you are bound to maintain if not even lose!

wizzler · 19/02/2019 06:40

2lbs off this week. Am really pleased.

Do you think its all down to my 8 mins of slow jogging on sunday night
Hounds?

StealthNinjaMum · 19/02/2019 07:08

Thanks everyone, I am feeling angry now if ex thinks he can string me along with a cheap box of chocolate while living his bachelor life. Makes me even more determined to lose another stone.

Down 1.6 lbs to 142.6.considering I'd put a lb on the previous week it feels like it's taking forever.

Very jealous of fiontar and mrbob. Have great holidays.

Well done wizzler that's an awesome result. I'm sure it was the exercise, keep going!

Fiontar649 · 19/02/2019 07:13

Hi bob - fish wouldn't be for me either 😷 but DH would love it! Have a great time, hope your tum isn't too dodge. If it is, pretend you are at some zen cleanse and ski spa detox place.... You're ridding yourself of toxins. 😉

Thanks all for the great advice about just enjoying our trip. To be honest, I am a bit (teeny tiny bit) worried, as I am so restricted in what I eat now, which works great while I am at home day-to-day, any deviation for more than a day or so will leave me - ahem - "cleansing" my system out too. But I will make the best of it. DH is used to fending for himself food wise here, but on holdays it would be nice to actually eat together 😂
If I avoid the junk between meals, and stick to plenty of water I would be happy with that

TheHoundsofLove · 19/02/2019 07:13

wizzler Almost certainly! Grin

.

TheHoundsofLove · 19/02/2019 07:22

I understand the slight worry about changes in routine mrbob and Fiontar . We're heading back to the UK for Half Term and I really don't want to undo all my good work. But also want to enjoy it.... I think my approach is going to be no snacks and just hope that I don't do too much damage. Plus, I'm going to take my running kit with me.

Fiontar649 · 19/02/2019 07:26

Hounds it is also the "fear" that when I get back I'll struggle to get straight back into it, so 1 week will stretch to 2... I can easily put on half a stone or more in that time.

I may need an ass kicking from everyone here...

TheHoundsofLove · 19/02/2019 07:28

Fiontar Understood!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/02/2019 07:38

We’ll be here when you get back fiontar! I understand that fear and America would be a hard place for me diet wise because the food is too tempting. Suspect I’d do much better in Japan because I’m not a fish fan either bob.

fatcatshavemorefun · 19/02/2019 08:35

-0.2kg... not sure that really counts! I feel like I might have found my equilibrium now and just need to accept it. At my biggest ever in January 2018 I weighed 10.5kg more and my bmi was in the low overweight range, none of my clothes fitted me (had gone up 3 dress sizes!) but couldn’t afford to replace them so was wearing my jeans with the zip only half way up with no hope of fastening the button. It might not sound to some like I had that much to lose but I am short and very very petite (size 3 feet) so definitely looked fairly spherical. My self esteem was low.

Since then, I’ve taken up running (from a standing start of not having done any form of exercise whatsoever for 15-20 years!) so now comfortably run 5Km a few times a week, I fell in love with Zumba and I regularly go to yoga or Pilates.
I aimed to lose 15kg, which would have taken me down to the weight I had easily maintained for most of my adult life until 3/4 years ago when the weight started going on. However, I’m now back to well within the healthy Bmi range, have got back into all my old clothes and am eating healthier than I ever have and must be fitter than since I was a child. Have definitely noticed I’m getting fewer colds/sniffles and have more energy in general. I don’t get out of breath climbing the (only one!) flight of stairs at work anymore. Am working on my self esteem.
I would’ve liked to have got back to my old weight but have had some comments from friends and family about not losing too much as it’s coming off my face now (annoyingly, wish I could lose the tummy instead!) so don’t want to start looking older than my years. I think the extra 5kg must just suit me better at 5 years older than before...
sorry for the essay! Thanks for reading/letting me work it all out in my head. I have my final wedding dress fitting and collection on Thursday and did want to lose the whole of my tummy before then but think I will just have to invest in some Spanx instead. Am very nervous about the dress fitting properly so fingers crossed!
It’s been very inspiring reading everyone else’s reasons for losing weight etc and a relief to realise everyone finds it challenging! My 10.5kg have taken over a year to come off and it has been very frustrating to see it happening so slowly but all I can say is keep going! Good luck and best wishes to everyone on this thread, I hope you all achieve all you want to!

fatcatshavemorefun · 19/02/2019 08:37

Sorry again for the mammoth post!

Fiontar649 · 19/02/2019 08:56

fatcat your post is very inspiring! Don't apologise for the detail!

To me you are demonstrating that after putting in the hard work to lose weight, you continue to work to maintain it. I can understand that the final 5kg is a goal that you set, and how hard you are trying to reach it, but it shouldn't take away from what you have done so far...

The running is HUGE... what an achievement.

On balance, if you trade the 5kg off against being stronger, fitter and healthier, it's a fantastic result.

Bet you'll be a stunner in your dress 😍

StealthNinjaMum · 19/02/2019 09:26

Wow fatcat you've done so well! And 0.2kg is loads. It's half a lb! I would be happy to lose 1/2 lb a week. It does get harder and slower the closer you get to target weight but the upside to that is, as you say, you're fitter and healthier.

Good luck for Thursday.

ElizaLestrange · 19/02/2019 09:27

I would like to join please. I have just started weight watchers. My weigh day is Monday.

Starting weight: 15st 1
Goal weight: 12st
I am going away in June so would love to have lost a stone or 2 by then!

Fiontar649 · 19/02/2019 09:38

Welcome on board ElizaLestrange
We're a friendly bunch!

TheHoundsofLove · 19/02/2019 10:00

Welcome Eliza .
Fatcat You have done so well!
I think it's hard that we all want/need to have an end goal in mind, without knowing how we'll feel when we get there... My main goal is that I want to be a size 8-10 again (dependant on shop). Judging on my previous adult weights, I think that I'll need to be about 8 st 7 to achieve that. I desperately want to fit into my old clothes again and will be really gutted if I don't manage to get there in time for my 40th next year.

StealthNinjaMum · 19/02/2019 11:03

Welcome Eliza. Lovely to meet you. That's three whole months and bits of two other months. I'm sure you'll be able to lose one or two clothes sizes by then.

hounds I'm similar to you, I think I'd like to be about 8 st 7 although maybe I'll stop at 9.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/02/2019 12:07

Well done fatcats! Great to be able to read your story. And welcome Eliza! I’m going away in June too so am hoping for significant progress by then.

ElizaLestrange · 19/02/2019 13:54

What a lovely welcome, thank you! Not long back from a nice walk, I managed to get over 8000 steps. Very pleased with that. I'm trying to build in more activity everyday. Smile
