On the 100lb plus weight loss thread, we have a saying that is "KOKO". It means Keep On Keeping On.

KOKO helps you to understand that the journey to be healthy is a long one. It won't always be great and there might be weeks of gains or STS. But you draw a line and keep on keeping on. It helps avoid the "fuck it" self sabotage.

I feel it's relevant on this thread right now. And for me who's had a 3lb gain Fri-Mon (DH birthday, I weigh every day), so if I slog my guts out Mon-Fri I might STS, which won't reflect any of my hard work. It's easy to think fuck it and write off the week, but I'm not. I shall KOKO.

Fiontar649 · 12/02/2019 08:07

FATE 👍👍👍👍👍

Love this. I shall KOKO.

mrbob · 12/02/2019 08:29

Fiontar- amazing! The rest of us can await our skinniness :)
Pumpernickel bread I think is an acquired taste and needs such thick toppings it probably makes it more unhealthy than bread for me!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 12/02/2019 08:42

Thank you fiontar, hounds and FATE. These are very wise and timely words about KOKO! It has been a very hard week. I’ve been severely tempted to throw in the towel but I know you’re right and I’ll be much happier if I draw a line and keep going. I’m also clinging on to the fact that I had a very salty takeaway meal yesterday and so I know it’s not all true weight gain.

Fiontar649 · 12/02/2019 08:52

I’m also clinging on to the fact that I had a very salty takeaway meal yesterday and so I know it’s not all true weight gain

That won't have helped I am sure! Remember - it’s just 1/21 meals this week... Don’t let it all go over some Prawn Crackers!

fatcatshavemorefun · 12/02/2019 09:08

Sts. I guess it could’ve been worse as was showing a gain mid-week. I had an afternoon tea at the weekend so that probably counteracted any calorie deficit I’d built up during the week... it’s a bit frustrating now being so close to target but unable to get there

Fiontar649 · 12/02/2019 18:18

fatcatshavemorefun - I forget how much you have to lose, but would you take this as a positive, as it shows that you can maintain?

wizzler · 12/02/2019 18:32

I shall definitely Kiki

wizzler · 12/02/2019 18:34

Bloody autocorrect
Koko.

Do you think Kiki might be keep imbibing keep ingesting?

Fiontar649 · 12/02/2019 19:07

Kiki got me into this mess 😂

Fiontar649 · 13/02/2019 07:05

Week 7

Morning everyone. It's the start of week 7, and it's getting a wee bit quiet in these parts! I hope you are all ok.

Even if you aren't doing as well as you wanted, I hope you will come back to thread.

Remember how chatty we were at the start? Hop back on, let's reboot and start again. I need youuuuuu

I am going to try to check in more too, I have got a bit lazy

WhenCanISleepAgain · 13/02/2019 07:11

I’m amazed this morning as overnight I’ve lost those pesky 2 pounds I gained in the last two weeks AND another 0.6lb!!! So I’m now at 200lbs exactly. Which is all rather incredible given the two weeks I’ve had diet wise and with very little exercise. I’ve now lost exactly a stone since mid November.
KOKO!!!

Fiontar649 · 13/02/2019 07:34

Excellent When !!
Getting out of the 200s is such a milestone.... You're only a week away from that.

TheHoundsofLove · 13/02/2019 07:51

That's fab, When .
It's a beautiful blue sky here today and I'd really like to go for a run, but I've been the past 2 days so should have a rest day, really. I'm planning to take the dogs for an extra long walk instead, though.
The first major breakthrough for me will be getting below 11st - I will be ecstatic when that happens!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 13/02/2019 07:53

Thank you Fiontar! It has given me a much needed boost. I’m just three pounds away from being overweight too!

Well done for calling us all back to the thread. I’ve never been part of any kind of weight loss group before and the support and encouragement is super helpful! And there’s still ten and a bit months to make 2019 the year we make a difference!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 13/02/2019 07:55

Thank you Hounds! I love that you love running. I have to drag myself out the door but it feels amazing afterwards. I need to run today or tomorrow to make sure I’m keeping going with running. Hope the dogs enjoy the long walk. It’s a beautiful day for it.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 13/02/2019 08:19

Love the pep talk Fiontar. I am still here but things haven’t been great (no weight loss and struggling to get out and exercise with 2 small DC, 1 of which has been waking every hour for the past few months, then also working full time). I don’t really want to drag the thread down though when others are doing so well.

Also, this data breach thing means I can’t login on my laptop, so I struggle to post proper messages!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 13/02/2019 08:20

Anyone heard from Fridge?

mrbob · 13/02/2019 08:29

When that is awesome!
I too am almost at the point where I miss running- as soon as a I get moved and unpack my sports stuff I reckon I will be out and about :)
KOKO here too- I actually feel good about the whole diet thing and feel so much healthier for it (and a healthier relationship with food in some ways) but still have my cake cravings! Luckily I have resisted so far and am feeling pretty committed. Once the weight loss follows I will be satisfied. I think when I get below 80kg that will make me feel good. Feels like the first really big hurdle

StealthNinjaMum · 13/02/2019 12:06

Fantastic when if you can just get to 199lbs next week then it'll be a big motivator to never get over 200 again.

I'm still here. I have been very unmotivated with housework, looking after dc, life, everything. The diet has been forgotten as I live off toast and dc's leftovers because it's easy to eat. So it didn't surprise me that I'd put on a pound last week. I think I'm at the stage where I know I look ok (20lbs down in total) and even though I know I'll look better with another 20lbs down it's hard to motivate myself. I can fit in most of my old clothes although some are a real squash so I definitely need to carry on.

Anyway I think I'm going to put on a jacket potato now and have that with some salad. I had a food order last night and have worked out what I'm going to eat for the next few days.

PinkHeart5914 · 13/02/2019 14:10

Hello everyone, Hope your all ok 😃

Thread 2.The 2019 Bunch:- eating well, pooping well, feeling bloody marvellous!
StealthNinjaMum · 13/02/2019 17:53

Ooh pinkheart what a lovely dress. Is that you wearing it? You look fantastic!

TheHoundsofLove · 13/02/2019 18:41

The dogs did enjoy the longer walk, thanks When . I've managed to hit 15000 steps today, so I'm pleased with that.
That's a really pretty dress, Pink - have you bought it with a particular occasion in mind?
I hope everyone else has managed to keep going today - in whatever form that might take...
I'm enjoying it too, mrbob ! Although, I know that I really need to work on my consumption of chocolate (although it's much better than it was). I really do think that I have a physical addiction to it and that going cold turkey may be the only answer.

PinkHeart5914 · 13/02/2019 18:55

Yes it’s me wearing it Stealth It caught my eye when out shopping today and I thought I could wear it out for lunch with friends the weekend TheHound

TheHounds Your so lucky having dogs, i would love one and I’d enjoy the walks so much but dh doesn’t like dogs much after being bitten as a child so it’s a never going to happen.

Fiontar649 · 13/02/2019 19:52

Hello!! So good to hear from you all! Love the dress on you pink, you have a teeny waist! Stealth - the motivation will come back at some stage, just keep treading water until then. Gruffalo I can only imagine how hard it is to eat anything remotely healthy while dealing with broken sleep. Keep posting though, everyone is welcome here, any time.
All this talk about runs and walks is making me feel very lazy 😪 Just home from work, and have an early meeting tomorrow, so it's going to be shower, pjs and bed for me shortly.
