Stealth - you are amazing and I have so much admiration for you. You are one tough cookie! (Can we refer to cookies on a diet thread?). I really hope you keep building your confidence. I can understand why you’d feel that way being a SAHM for a while, but I am sure you have more to talk about and are more interesting than you think you are Smile.

Cello and Grey - yes it’s crazy how quickly the time has passed! Madness! I also agree that Feb is a busy month: we have three birthdays in my immediate family. I’m determined to keep on losing though. What are your goals Cello? When - I totally relate to that. I want to lose 2 stone to get back to a healthy weight for my height / my pre TTC weight, but I’d like to lose a little more so that I’m not constantly worrying about falling back into the “overweight” category.

I’ve had a pretty good day and am feeling proud of myself. I’ve had a difficult week, as DC2 has been ill for a week and both children have been up all night screaming night after night. I’m exhausted from the sleep deprivation, but managed to drag my sorry arse to the gym for a session. It was short and I didn’t push myself, but it has to be better for me than sitting around eating crap!

TheHoundsofLove · 30/01/2019 18:45

Yes - it is definitely crazy that we are very nearly in February! I'm quite proud of myself for sticking with it! I feel as though my confidence has been knocked over the past few years, but I'm pleased to say that I am really starting to feel it returning. Smile It seems as though it is fresh beginnings, in one way or another, for most of us... I do hope that you're feeling a bit brighter today, Grey .

WhenCanISleepAgain · 30/01/2019 19:49

Gruffalos - snap except only one DC for me. DS is very unsettled with a cold and teething and I basically haven’t slept for two days. I was nearly on my knees with tiredness today! But I have eaten healthily, managed a 20 minute run and turned down cake! Sounds like you’ve done very well today too and especially all things considered. Well done on a good day today too pink! And Hounds I really think something has clicked for me this year and that I’ve turned a corner in being more determined than ever to reach healthy. How wonderful to hear that it is impacting your confidence too.

This thread is a reminder of the saying: ‘be kind for everyone you meet is facing a hard battle’. I’m so inspired to hear of the courage and determination others are showing along the way.

Thanks for motivational words! Literally today I've lost those 4lbs I was cycling around plus a bonus pound. The moral of the message: keep going, it IS working!

Defender90 · 30/01/2019 23:25

Hi everyone, may I join in?

Got lots (6 stone plus) to loose, trying very hard to cut back after being 'threatened' with blood pressure meds at the end of last year.

Kicked the wine, eating less, doing my PT sessions once a week (seeing a physio for mechanical back pain and walking / impact things are off the cards for now).

Weighed 4lbs down at the gym, nurse 4 hours later and weighed 2lbs up, I was gutted. Yes I'd had a spot of lunch but not 6lbs worth! I've been very disheartened since then and way back eating too much.

I need to be accountable, I need to get out of this endless cycle.

mrbob · 31/01/2019 00:49

Hey defender !
Don’t be despondent- I reckon that will be scales related! Stick to one set at one time of day and it will be way more reliable.
Sounds like you have a good plan and it is worth sticking a few weeks and then re-evaluating if you need to make any changes...
You can do it!

mrbob · 31/01/2019 04:50

OK huge news in bob land...
I never drank coffee until I moved to Australia and discovered the wonder that is the soy latte made well. I have always HATED black coffee which has made it very hard on keto! But today I have braved an iced long black and survived! It was nice! I am not sure I would choose it over a latte but it will do the job in emergencies Smile

wizzler · 31/01/2019 06:19

Morning everyone, and welcome Defender!

Congrats on your revelation Bob

Funnily enough coffee was my downfall yesterday. I have given up milky coffees while dieting but I succumbed yesterday as I felt a bit wobbly. Didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 31/01/2019 07:23

Good news on the coffee front bob and wizz and welcome defender. And a huge well done Avenger!

StealthNinjaMum · 31/01/2019 12:34

Thanks gruffalo I was thinking of trying online dating but lurked on the dating thread in relationships. Dating seems brutal these days so I think I'll wait til I've lost another stone and feel more confident.

Welcome defender. Try not to be too despondent, the body's weight fluctuates throughout the day but if you keep it up there will be weekly and monthly downward trends. And six stone might sound a lot but break into small targets and reward yourself at each stage. You'll probably go down a clothes size at 8 to 10lbs and give yourself a boost.

StealthNinjaMum · 31/01/2019 12:49

whencan well done for your run and cake refusing. I downloaded a running app about a year ago and have never even used it. Thats good news naked avenger

After saying my weight is too low to 'whoosh' down I weighed myself today and have lost a pound. Obviously it'll fluctuate loads but I want to be lower than 140 lbs by the end of the month which is 1lb a week. When I lost weight before I did it slowly so 4lbs in a month would be good progress. I sound small but I really want my stomach and thighs to shrink. My stomach is very wrinkly but looks much better when there's less of it.

Fiontar649 · 31/01/2019 13:55

Hello! Jesus it is freezing here. I have so many layers on it takes me an extra few mins to pee, by the time I have stripped down.

Feel less sluggish than I did on Tuesday, which I am taking as a good sign. Hoping for my whoosh next week.

It's finally the end of January! We made it!

TheHoundsofLove · 31/01/2019 15:05

Welcome Defender .
Stealth I want my stomach to shrink too! It's interesting that you say it looks better when there is less of it as I'm a bit worried that mine will be quite wrinkly/saggy. I have decided that I will be happy if i can lose a stone every 3 months - so about the progress that you saw last time.
Fiontar It's freezing here too! Fingers crossed for your whoosh.
I went for a run in heavy snow this morning....and actually enjoyed it. Halo My fitbit says that I was in peak HR zone for 40 whole minutes, so the cold must have had me working harder.

StealthNinjaMum · 31/01/2019 15:25

hounds I just want my stomach to be how it was about 4 years ago. I would never have worn a bikini because it was just saggy and wrinkly but it didn't hang or flop over my knickers like it does now! After two pregnancies I don't expect to look like a twenty year old but I'd like to be confident in front of a new man.

wizzler · 31/01/2019 17:55

Stealth I reckon if you lose weight steadily your stomach will change shape over time.... without going baggy.

Anyone know how long it takes before boobs start to reduce?

AFridgeTooFar · 31/01/2019 19:40

Evening!

Well, I'm a certified addict! Officially! Onwards and upwards!

In other news...it's fucking freezing!

I fell asleep at my PC at work...and instead of waking me up, some buggar covered me up with a coat! I must have looked a proper melt!

How's everyone feeling about the upcoming weekend?

AFridgeTooFar · 31/01/2019 19:42

Oh...and I just tried porridge for the first time in my life! I've found my new "thing"!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 31/01/2019 20:04

Well done stealth as you continue to drop pounds. Hope you get your whoosh fiontar. Amazing that you’ve run in the snow Hounds - bet you felt awesome afterwards 😇 And fridge - a huge well done for going to your meeting today. I have porridge for breakfast most days. Can’t say I necessarily love it but it feels like a healthy choice.

I’ve not made great food choices today - nothing terrible, just all a bit beige and I haven’t really enjoyed it. I’m a little under the weather so no exercise today though I was planning to today and had another night with very little sleep as DS still has a cold.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 31/01/2019 20:04

Welcome defender!

aurorie11 · 31/01/2019 20:04

Fridge, porridge is fab!

mrbob · 31/01/2019 20:30

I LOVE porridge. A new world is here for you fridge
I am a bit envious not to have snow. But only for 10 minutes then I am happy for summer again. Some of the pictures from over there are amazing

Fiontar649 · 31/01/2019 20:50

Porridge for breakfast here, with a handful of frozen berries on top. Delish!

wizzler · 31/01/2019 20:56

Really struggling today. Normally week days are fine but was craving cheese sandwiches and other food of the devil.
I fear for the weekend when there is access to the kitchen cupboards 24* 7.
This is definitely the hardest week for me. Anyone else suffering?

GreyandGrumpy48 · 31/01/2019 21:23

Just to say thank you for all your kind thoughts- it is really lovely the support you can get from strangers.Having a tough few days but will post properly tomorrow. Flowers

AFridgeTooFar · 01/02/2019 07:30

Fion flip it...if you can get through this week, even though it's the hardest week yet, then you got this for SURE.

You're nearly halfway through until Tuesday already. ❤❤❤
