Morning everyone! Dh is cooking tapas tonight which in the wizzler household means padrones, garlic prawns and pork ... so I should be ok for that.
However family coming to me tomorrow.. and when they do I always cook steamed treacle pud.. that might not be so weight loss friendly!

TheHoundsofLove · 26/01/2019 10:07

Tipsy piano playing sound like fun, Fridge ! Grin
Well, we really enjoyed the cauliflower rice - in fact, I think that I preferred it to normal rice. I oven roasted it, so it still had a bit of bite and had a really lovely toasted flavour.
I have also been running and done a Bootcamp in the snow... Halo
And it seems to all be paying off as my official weight-in is today and I have lost 2lbs this week. DH says that he can definitely see a difference! Grin

wizzler · 26/01/2019 10:11

Well done Hounds

AFridgeTooFar · 26/01/2019 10:15

YAY!!!!!!!!

Fiontar649 · 26/01/2019 10:17

Well done Hounds

The roasted cauliflower rice sounds nice... I might try that!

TheHoundsofLove · 26/01/2019 11:48

It honestly was very nice, Fiontar . Next time, I think I'll roast it for a bit longer so that it's even more toasted. Even my very fussy 8 year old declared it 'not that bad'.

LittleDoritt · 26/01/2019 12:07

Well done Hounds!!
My extended family are over from Ireland so it's non stop eating and drinking. Trying to make good choices and keeping an eye on the scales - maintaining so far. Thank you kind weightloss gods!

Fiontar649 · 26/01/2019 12:58

Good luck LittleDoritt
I imagine there are lots of cups of tea, with a sandwich "in your hand"

(I am Irish)

StealthNinjaMum · 26/01/2019 17:10

Well done hounds and little dorritt good luck with the willpower.

I took dds to lunch today and they wanted to try Wagamama. I tried to choose sensibly as I couldn't get mfp to work. Anyway I'm delighted that the salad I ate had only 342 calories and with half a bowl of edamame beans was really filling.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 26/01/2019 17:17

Well done hounds and seems as though everyone’s doing well so far this weekend. I’m going to need to look up cauliflower rice for the future.

I had a slice of cake today but also walked for two hours.

I always order the endamame beans in Wagamama stealth

WhenCanISleepAgain · 26/01/2019 17:23

I’m going out for Chinese with friends tomorrow (dim sum). Any recommendations on what might be healthiest options?

wizzler · 26/01/2019 21:26

It's been a good day... soup for lunch then tapas. Glass of red wine as a treat.
The roasted cauliflower rice sounds like a plan. Might try it next week

mrbob · 26/01/2019 22:00

Good going everyone. I think eating out is the challenging one- it would be so easy to let one meal slide into giving up and there is so much temptation!
I managed a 3 year olds birthday party by taking a protein bar to eat while everyone else had the amazing looking cake! Luckily there wasn’t much other picky food which was good.
Still doing ok apart from the colon issue!

TulipsInbloom1 · 26/01/2019 22:01

Well done everyone!

Morning friends! I am feeling a bit Fridge like today. I had a big family party last night. I stood in front of my wardrobe, full of lovely options, and fully took in the knowledge that I have two dresses that I wear in rotation and that absolutely nothing else fits. Normally I would have cried and felt sorry for myself but, largely thanks to this group, I feel full to the brim with fight to tackle this. I am in full battle cry mode. Grin I know it's a looooong slow process but I'm not going to be this way in a year, or even six months. I refuse!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 27/01/2019 10:13

That’s fantastic LittleDorrit! I worked out today that if I lost just 1/2 a pound per week between now and next NY’s Eve then that’d be nearly two stone. Most of us can probably lose more than 1/2 a pound a week, depending on how far we have to go. And two stone is equivalent in weight to 23 basket balls! This really can be our year for making significant changes even if it takes a while.

I’m gearing up for my Chinese lunch with friends. I have been for a run and aim to do 30 Day Shred later plus to be mindful of the choices I make and what I eat when I’m there.

TheHoundsofLove · 27/01/2019 10:50

I'm the same, Dorrit ! I also have a few outfits that I just wear in rotation. I don't understand how I've got here, as I love clothes and fashion and have a whole wardrobe or 2 of things that no longer fit me. But, I am bloody determined that I'm going to wear them again!
And I totally agree When - if we only lose half a lb a week, we'll still be nearly 2 stones lighter by next Christmas! That is a massive amount! And, if we keep going, we'll probably lose a bit more
besides. Smile We just have to keep going!

Fiontar649 · 27/01/2019 11:41

Can I please join you? I’m on another thread but it’s very quiet.

I started on 2/1 @ 13.11
On 12/1 - 13.6
On 19/1 13.3
On 26/1 13.05

Tricky week this week, group meal last night and 3 day residential course this week. Aim this week is 12 something

End target 9.7

Fiontar649 · 27/01/2019 17:25

Welcome aurorie11 - you are so close to the 12 st bracket - well done! It's hard when you have to eat out or go away for a few days, you can just do your best.

Bought some new M&S t-shirts today. Now, they aren't fitted, they are a loose/relaxed style. But I bought 16s and they aren't hideous! Before Christmas I would have got an 18, maybe a 20.

LittleDoritt · 27/01/2019 18:09

Slinky-malinki Fiontar!
Welcome Aurorie. You are doing so well!

mrbob · 27/01/2019 21:52

Hello aurorie Smile
We are now exactly the same weight (although you have lost more than me so I imagine you will get there much faster!)
Are you following something particular or just the eat less chocolate sort of diet? You are doing amazingly!

mrbob · 27/01/2019 21:57

I have lost 4kg which isn’t masses but I am a bit sad I don’t look any different and none of my clothes feel different Sad I know it will come and I know I will keep going but I feel like I need a boost of smaller clothes or something!

wizzler · 27/01/2019 23:08

MrBob I have the boost you need!

Find some flour, or sugar, or rice that weighs the equivalent to your weight loss ... stick it in a carrier bag and pick it up. I have only done 5.5 lbs but even that is a fair old weight in bags of sugar

So even though I look the same I
know that what I have done so far is making a difference.
