I'm stupidly excited about this week...

We can finally say that we've stuck at it for over a month!!!

PrivateCello · 28/01/2019 06:22

Same thoughts here too Fridge! Excited for the new month to start and hopefully I will be in the lower 70 kg bracket!

AFridgeTooFar · 28/01/2019 06:51

I'm cooking homemade pizza tonight for Dad's new friend. Her mom is MY new friend...we just sort of clicked!

Here's a confession: when I meet new people usually, I'm bricking it, and usually have a bottle few glasses of wine.

I may check in on here instead, if no one minds...

mrbob · 28/01/2019 06:59

Do it fridge
And yes a month is pretty amazing. I am not sure I have ever stuck out a diet that long (apart from a total meal replacement one) and I am very proud of all of us
And wizzler I just did as you suggested and it cheered me up a LOT thank you!

LittleDoritt · 28/01/2019 07:04

MrBob, it's also fun to Google what the weight you have lost equals - for example your 4kg is 200 sushi rolls or 133 chess kings Grin

TheHoundsofLove · 28/01/2019 08:39

mrbob Have you been measuring yourself too? If not, it's definitely worth doing. I'm measuring my bust, waist and hips and have lost an inch off of each, even though I have only lost 5lbs.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 28/01/2019 09:04

Struggling to stay positive today after feeling great yesterday. I wore a new dress in a smaller size (16). I’ve lost a stone since starting in November. And then this morning a friend posted a video from our get together yesterday, again highlighting I have a long way to go still Hmm But I would have been way more unhappy if I hadn’t already lost a stone - and I know I can lose more if I keep going.

AFridgeTooFar · 28/01/2019 09:07

when you got this!

By this time next year, that video will seem like a faraway dream!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 28/01/2019 09:34

Keep going When. You’ve totally got this. Just think where you could be in 3/6/12 months and focus on that. I’m really sorry that it made you feel lousy though Flowers. I’ve had similar experiences over the past few years Sad.

I’m loving all the positivity on this thread. It’s just what I need right now to try and push through. I have had a challenging week, both with life and diet, so I really need to perk up and get back on track. Dreading weigh in tomorrow.

aurorie11 · 28/01/2019 10:07

Mrbob I follow my own plan no ABC -:alcohol, bread, biscuits, cheese, chocolate or crisps
Breakfast is porridge or oats and granola or scrambled eggs on Sunday
Lunch is soup or salad
Dinner is whatever everyone is having
Also increasing moving and aiming for 30 minute walk per day
I know it works it did before and then life got messy with elderly parents and list focus and lack of time to eat properly so ate rubbish on the run

StealthNinjaMum · 28/01/2019 10:29

Hello aurorie11 I went down from 13 st 9 to about 8 1/2 stone so it can be done. I then gained a lot of weight but thanks to this thread I am motivated and losing the weight again.

mrbob I never found a pattern with weightloss and getting thinner. Sometimes I wouldn't lose weight but I'd suddenly realise I was thinner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this week you fit into smaller clothes, it's such a boost when that happens.

StealthNinjaMum · 28/01/2019 10:35

That's a good thought fridge I have pretty much stuck to my calorie limit every day this month. I think I am going to book a manicure or something to celebrate.

Just repeating what the others say whencanIsleepagain you've done incredibly well and in a few weeks you'll be a 14 and who knows where in a year?

Well I AM G OING TO BE POSITIVE said through gritted teeth. Despite keeping to the diet I have put on a pound since last Tuesday. It is my period so that must've made the difference although I have never noticed it having an impact before. My target for the end of the month was to have a bmi in the region of 24 and I made it for about one day! So I really want to lose about a lb overnight and hit 24. This is that really shitty stage where I know I am not really overweight but want to lose vanity poundage and it will take forever.

PinkHeart5914 · 28/01/2019 13:47

Hi everyone

Hope everyone’s Monday is going well

AFridgeTooFar I can completely relate to this Here's a confession: when I meet new people usually, I'm bricking it, and usually have a bottle few glasses of wine I really struggle is social situations as I can be painfully shy and I do use alcohol to give me a confidence boost, I know it’s a bad habit and of course the extra calories are no good but it’s hard to break the habit. So Yes check in here and hopefully that will help you.

Keep going When it may seem a long road but better to keep going now than have to start an even bigger road in the future.

I went running this morning before dh left for work, it was freezing out but glad I went.
Food for today
B- bowl of Rice Krispies. Black coffee
L- chicken salad sandwich, few sweet chilli pea crisps, 1 biscuit
D- Will be veg chilli with rice

WhenCanISleepAgain · 28/01/2019 15:46

Thanks for the encouragement fridge, gruffalos, stealth and pink. I have kept going today and am going to keep going to reach a healthy weight!

Fiontar649 · 28/01/2019 18:21

WhenCanISleepAgain - your post from earlier reminds me of mine from last week - I was at a family catch-up and the pics circulating whatsapp afterwards just showed how much I have to lose. It is disheartening! But you know what? Later last week I was chatting to my mum, who had seen the pics, and she commented on how "well" I was looking in them - totally unprompted, we weren't even chatting about it. She has no idea I am dieting. So it goes to show that others spot small changes- maybe they can't put their finger on them - but slowly and steadily we are getting there.

NakedAvenger · 28/01/2019 18:36

End of 3rd week and I've hit the dreaded plateau. 11lbs off in 3 weeks (I've 55 to lose) and the scales have popped back up another two lbs consistently for the last 5 days so this week saw a gain.

I remember this happening before and it's usually when I lose heart and give up. Motivation needed! Please tell me loss will start again!

I'm on Blood sugar diet. Aiming for 800 cals a day (sometimes much lower eg 600 sometimes 1000) and sticking to under 20g carbs a day. Doing 30 day shred too.

wizzler · 28/01/2019 18:43

Avenger.. keep going . The gain is just a blip and overall you are losing.
Also ... there is no plan b. If we want to lose weight, it's eat less / move more. So if you give up on dieting how else are you going to do it? Keep going

LittleDoritt · 28/01/2019 18:51

Fairly certain I'm in for a gain tomorrow too. Keep going! We might gain this week but by this time next month we'll weigh a lot less!

Fiontar649 · 28/01/2019 18:54

Keep going Naked - ride this out. If you give up, the full 11lbs will go back on again. After a few days it will start moving again.

I have a feeling I will be on the plateau with you tomorrow!

NakedAvenger · 28/01/2019 18:56

Perfect words all! Thanks so much. Especially the point about it has to come off if I'm moving more and eating less!

Weight loss isn't linear
Weight loss isn't linear

Repeat!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 28/01/2019 19:55

You are very right Fiontar and my mum has also commented recently that I’m looking well so I think it will become more obvious over time. Just need to stick with it. Keep going avenger and good point wizzler - there’s really only one way to change things.
Good luck everyone as we approach weigh in day!

mrbob · 28/01/2019 20:23

Yes- it will only get more and more obvious as time goes on and especially when you see people you haven't seen in a while in a few months!

This is a marathon not a sprint so keep going! You are all keeping me on track and reminding me of this and I am a terrible one for wanting instant gratification. I also get diet envy where people do the same as me and lose WAY faster but I need to remind myself that this is the body I have been given and I must deal with it as it is (and acknowledge that in times of starvation 400 hundred years ago it would have been perfectly adapted to survive Grin )

Despite being an angel I am only down to 83.1kg this morning at weigh in which I find a bit depressing but hey ho. Still 4kg overall. Only 2.5 weeks to get into my ski pants though which I have always been able to do up but would be better a bit less snug!

I also have 3 weddings this year and would like to look nice for at least the second 2!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 28/01/2019 20:42

Good morning Bob. Sounds like you have some strong short and long term goals to keep you motivated - and 4kg overall is great! I definitely need to keep remind myself it’s a marathon. I wake up every day expecting to already be thin Grin

wizzler · 29/01/2019 06:23

Morning.. Its weigh in day for me and I have lost just over a pound to make ny total loss for Feb 6.6 which I am rounding up (!) to half a stone
Quite pleased with that..but have realised that my aim of doing half a stone each month isnt going to happen so I have revised targets to 1 lb a week,
Avenger.. I re read my post to you yesterday and I sounded a bit of a sergeant major... sorry if you felt bullied into weightloss!

Realising I am a bit overinvested in the numbers on the scales as I double checked I hard taken my teeny weeny stud earrings out before getting weighed this morning!

AFridgeTooFar · 29/01/2019 06:43

203lb.

And...

FIRST SHELF DOWN IN MY WARDROBE!!!!

I've now moved the size 16s to the "bi monthly try on" shelf!!!
