Its such a sobering thought New.

When we started these threads I was thinking about what clothes I would wear when I got thinner... it all seems very frivolous... in comparison with the health benefit, and being with family

Hope you are ok.. though obviously you won't be .

AFridgeTooFar · 24/01/2019 07:31

Morning!

AIBU to be eating a salad bowl from Subway for breakfast? 🤣

TulipsInbloom1 · 24/01/2019 07:32

Haha that's a great breakfast!

Can I just put it out there that it is 1920 in the evening and 45 degrees outside. I don't quite know what to do with myself. Is definitely thwarting any concept of running this week Grin

A good day here after a slightly depressing gain after an incredibly low carb meal out (apparently still too much!) so onwards and upwards!

A salad bowl sounds an excellent and yummy breakfast!

TheHoundsofLove · 24/01/2019 09:02

I'm impressed with those of you who can stomach a salad for breakfast! Confused
mrbob Yes, that is definitely too hot for running in! In fact, too hot for doing much in!
Now that I feel I have Dry January nearly under my belt, I am tackling processed sugar. I'm still eating carbs, but just cutting out anything with added sugars in it. I had a horrific headache last night (1st day) but slept really well and have woken up feeling okay.

PinkHeart5914 · 24/01/2019 11:35

Morning All

Hope your all ok and diets are still going well!

I couldn’t do salad for breakfast AFridgeTooFar I have to force it down as it is. Fair play to you though

My diet is still going ok and I’ve upped the exercise a bit. Plan for today is
B- 1 croissant & pot of Black coffee. It’s a little treat as I’m in a coffee shop by myself with a book, all 3 dc are in the shopping centre crèche.

L- will have chicken salad and an orange once home

D- it’s curry night in my house but won’t be ordering from a take away it will be home made. Chickpeas curry, hairy bikers chicken jalfrezi, rice and chutney

Fiontar649 · 24/01/2019 13:26

Hello!

I keep my food very plain/same during the week

Porridge and berries for breakfast.

Salad for lunch - just greens, peppers and a small bit of apple.

I don't usually eat mid afternoon, but will have a banana if I am starving.

Dinner - I am doing "whole food, plant based, no oil" so I actually eat loads of potatoes - as long as they are cooked plain, I don't restrict them. I have them most weeknights in my airfryer. Other nights I will have veggie stirfries.

My food is very simple as long as I am cooking from scratch at home. It's when I am out and about or lazy that things go to pot.

LittleDoritt · 24/01/2019 14:54

B - porridge with honey and banana
L - scrambled eggs
D - pork curry with rice

Not the best, not the worst. My anxiety is through the roof today. Cracked my first lot of eggs into the bin accidentally instead of the pan I was in such a flap.

Pinkroseuk · 24/01/2019 19:12

I've dropped off mumsnet for a few days as work has taken over!
B- slice whole meal toast
L- 4 raspberries!
D- bolognaise with veg and about tablespoon pasta

Have cut down portions again and the weight is starting to move. I have 6 weeeks to loose 16kg - not sure it's gonna happen...

Fiontar649 · 24/01/2019 20:32

DH has just come home with a chippy tea for himself. I declined the offer but, oh MAN.... the smell of salt and vinegar....

mrbob · 24/01/2019 20:39

I had my typical day:
B: nothing
Late morning: protein shake
Lunch late: celery sticks with a little peanut butter
Dinner: Vietnamese noodle bowl with carb free noodles, tofu etc
That was it. How am i not a size 8 yet? Grin

wizzler · 24/01/2019 20:54

A triumph today.. someone offered me a malteser and I turned it down!
24 days of no choc!!

mrbob · 24/01/2019 20:57

There is some excellent willpower going on!

Fiontar649 · 24/01/2019 20:59

I have a sneaky weigh in on a Friday to keep me motivated for the weekend, so that is another reason not to cave today!

wizzler · 24/01/2019 21:08

I had a sneaky weigh in and was depressed to se an increase. So day off tomorrow means a long dog walk to try and burn some calls

Fiontar649 · 25/01/2019 07:51

Sneaky w/i showing no movement on scales, so extra glad I didn't have chippy last night. Need to knuckle down between now and Tuesday

WhenCanISleepAgain · 25/01/2019 08:29

I had a sneaky weigh in (actually I weigh in daily so it’s not-so-sneaky) and I’m down a pound. I can also see much more of a difference now. I’m nearly down a stone since November.

StealthNinjaMum · 25/01/2019 10:17

I had a sneaky weigh-in and I have lost the grand total of .2lbs! Is that 3 oz? Think I'd lose more if I had a hair cut!

wizzler · 25/01/2019 11:32

Dh taking me out for lunch so this will be a true test. Well done everyone for keeping going.
Week 4 is just as challenging as the last 3 !!

TheHoundsofLove · 25/01/2019 12:47

Keep going, girls! We're heading in the right direction...
Do any of you do cauliflower rice? We're having curry for dinner later and I thought I'd give it a go instead of normal rice.

Fiontar649 · 25/01/2019 13:07

hounds it bulks out the dish, but I'm not that mad about it. I'd take it with a small bit of rice, rather than completelyon its own. I like bean sprouts instead- bit more "bite" to them

mrbob · 25/01/2019 13:20

I did cauliflower rice and it was ok. Fills you up. Needs lots of seasoning tho

PinkHeart5914 · 25/01/2019 20:47

Evening all 😃

TheHoundsOfLove I don’t like cauliflower rice, broccoli rice however i do like and often have with curry or chilli.

Not had the best day food wise but not bad either
B- crumpets and black coffee
L- Eggs & ham
3 cookies
D- left over curry from last night as it was delicious. 2 glasses of wine

So a bit fruit & veg lacking but not an awful day

AFridgeTooFar · 26/01/2019 09:39

Speaking of cauli rice, I had a takeout last night!

Ironically, I always order the lowest fat curry- a vegetable madras. Our local takeout don't use ghee, so I know I'm safe there.

But I can eat my own weight in naan bread usually...I skipped it, and DH made me some cauli rice while we were waiting for the delivery! I didn't even miss the naan!

Can we forget about the two double rhubarb gins that fell into my mouth beforehand?

Seriously...I burned some of those calories off playing piano in a random bar...I reccommend tipsy piano playing. I took requests! 😂😂😂😂

TulipsInbloom1 · 26/01/2019 09:47

Out for a catchup last night so ate a Lot of bad food. One meal out of 21 though right!

Was totally worth it.
