I know I have only been lurking on these threads, but it has been so motivational to read. Managed to get over my 3 week despair after bouncing back up to start weight for no fathomable reason, and have managed an overall loss after all. Thanks guys!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 22/01/2019 06:47

Welcome vinegar and well done! I’m down 2lbs this week and very happy with that. Well done everyone for keeping going into week four.

TheHoundsofLove · 22/01/2019 06:50

It does feel a long, hard slog doesn't it?!
Over the last 3 weeks I have now lost a grand total of 3 lbs! It is going to be ages before I notice any real difference! Sad

mrbob · 22/01/2019 06:57

But a lb a week is better than 0lb a week hounds ! And in a year that is a LOT of pounds!

TheHoundsofLove · 22/01/2019 07:09

Yes - you are right mrbob !

Fiontar649 · 22/01/2019 07:27

Morning Losers 😊

I lost 4 lbs, so that's 1st 1lb in 3 weeks. I am really thrilled - I haven't had any "off plan" food or alcohol, and the last week has been tough! I have turned into a bit of a recluse - I need to be confident that I can stick to a plan while out in the big, wide, world 😂

Week 4 - I hope it goes easier for everyone. Well done to everyone who has had a loss, and I hope anyone who is struggling has a better week

TulipsInbloom1 · 22/01/2019 07:40

This mornings weight- 13st9lb.
Starting weight- 14st 3lb.
Total loss- 8lb.

I was and always will be aiming for a 1lb per week loss. I'm thinking it's only because I'm doing dry jan that it's coming in at just over 2lb per week. It will definitely slow once I'm into February.

I feel good about being comfortably into the 13s now. I never want to see the 14 on my scale again. And it doesn't feel all that far down to 12, even though it's 2 months away at my 1lb per week aim. Still, that's only March/April.

OP posts:
Fiontar649 · 22/01/2019 07:50

That's a great plan Tulips - slow and steady. I don't expect to keep up the big numbers (and I have to remember that some of the starting weights of other posters, are still months away from my current weight Blush )
March and April are coming anyway - we might as well be healthier when they do!

CarrotPuff · 22/01/2019 07:54

The scales finally moved and I lost 1lb. It's probably more than that, but I've got a cold and throat infection combo with an awful cough, so the last few days have been very carb heavy. DD is also ill so I couldn't even go fat run yesterday. So I'm focusing on just getting better for now, weight loss will have to be put on hold for a bit.

CarrotPuff · 22/01/2019 07:54

For* a run, stupid autocorrect

LittleDoritt · 22/01/2019 08:25

Well done everyone, especially Fiontar!

By some miracle I stayed the same this week at 14.6 so still down 8lbs overall. I didn't deserve that! Relieved to start a fresh week without a gain though and move forward. 13's, I'm coming for you!

GreyandGrumpy48 · 22/01/2019 08:30

Well done everyone, especially Fiontar. STS here which i’m ok with given the week i’ve had but feeling positive for next week.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 22/01/2019 08:31

Well done everyone so far. Don’t lose faith Hounds. I’ve lost 2lbs in the 3 weeks. Obviously I would have preferred it to be more, but at least it is a loss not a gain. It’s demoralising when others have massive losses, but as we’ve said before, it all adds up. If I lose 2lb a month I will still be 10lbs lighter for my holiday in June ☀️ 👙🍹. Similarly, if you keep losing 3lbs a month you will be nearly 20lbs lighter in 6 months time!

AFridgeTooFar · 22/01/2019 09:05

Mooooorning losers!

203.7 this morning! I'll take that! And it's solid proof that I don't have to cut out carbs as much as I have been!

I feel I can relax a little now. I HAD to be rigid in the first few weeks, to almost force new habits into myself. I think they're established now.

Lunch today will either be beans on toast, or a smoothie (blackberries, hazelnut milk and peanut butter). I'm cooking creamy bacon and mushroom pasta for everyone tonight, so I'll be having the vegan version, with courgetti.

I'm buzzed that we're all still here!

PrivateCello · 22/01/2019 09:07

That’s a great plan Tulip and a good attitude as well. I am also aiming for a pound a week looking to get to goal by August at least. Anything above the pound is a bonus!

fatcatshavemorefun · 22/01/2019 09:17

Ah the scales showed that 1.1kg gain from yesterday has gone again, plus another 0.5kg, so am -0.5kg since last Tuesday. Am very pleased with that considering all the drinking and eating on the hen! Only 3.2kg til next mini-goal :)
Well done everyone! Yesterday was blue Monday and did feel pretty depressing even if blue Monday itself is just marketing hype. So think we are all doing well to carry on

AFridgeTooFar · 22/01/2019 09:25

Sod that...I can work just as well in my onesie! Will send the slides over in PDF for now- OpenOffice sometimes doesn't travel over to PowerPoint very well, so I may have to spend a few minutes reformatting on Thursday. Meanwhile, another My Little Pony marathon is in order. For medicinal and recouperation
purposes obvs.

AFridgeTooFar · 22/01/2019 09:26

Oh fuck a moose...

That should have obviously been sent via email, not posted on here ffs!!!! How is that even possible to do??? 😃😜

AFridgeTooFar · 22/01/2019 10:44

May I ask a personal question?

What TOTM do people tend to put on "water weight"? During, or the week before?

I've just realized I'm due, and my loss may be more than I thought this week!

LittleDoritt · 22/01/2019 10:48

It's always the week before for me.

AFridgeTooFar · 22/01/2019 10:58

Here's hoping!

PrivateCello · 22/01/2019 11:10

Fridge I will find out next week as AF is here for me. I did eat loads of salty stuff yesterday as I crave even more salt when I am on.

StealthNinjaMum · 22/01/2019 11:27

HermioneWeasley hope you're ok. That 4lbs is just likely to be a fluctuation for no reason. I think I read that 3,500 calories is equivalent to a lb so you'd have to eat 14,000 extra calories to put on 4lbs. It'll be gone soon enough.

StealthNinjaMum · 22/01/2019 11:42

Week 3 is more challenging but we should start to see results. I think lots of us are feeling better and that will inspire us to push through to the end of January. I am fitting into jeans I haven't worn for a couple of years. I have a massive belly hanging over but no-one sees it.

Having looked like I was going to go down .3lbs yesterday I was really pleased to see I have gone down 2lbs to 145.3 lbs.

I did some meal planning yesterday and had a food delivery today. It's hard as I eat different things to dc. I am living off home made soup and salad at the moment. Just to mix things up I'm going to be having lots of strong goats cheese and pears with my salads this week (I have been living off Greek salad for weeks) and I am intending to try beetroot and apple soup for the first time. I also bought some small steaks that I can eat with dc.

tulips fridge I think one of you had a good recipe for hummus, can you remind me what it was?

wizzler · 22/01/2019 13:40

Half a pound off.. which is ok...and better then putting on.
I think the 1lb week target is going to be sensible for me... had previously planned to do 7lbs a month.. but that might be too optimistic .
Still not eaten any chocolate in 2019 and have stopped craving it thank goodness
