I think that’s all you can do. Think that in a year this will all be different if you keep going with the diet. And the reason you are ON the diet is because you don’t want it to be like this. Make it a motivation. Remind yourself that you are doing this for a really good reason and it is awesome that you have begun. It is hard when you are doing so well and the results take SO long but you are on the path so keep tracking!

wizzler · 20/01/2019 21:17

Thanks everyone! Was really hoping to see a difference .. but you are right, it would have looked even worse two weeks ago!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 20/01/2019 21:20

I’m so sorry Wizzler. It’s miserable when that happens. I think I’ve also been eying up that jumper, and they do a lovely ochre dress, but I know that if I get them I won’t look how I want to Sad. I hope you feel a little bit better tomorrow Flowers. Same for you Fiontar and everyone else who is struggling. Like others have said, this process may feel like it’s takinh ages, but hopefully we will all be feeling much better about ourselves in 6 months/a year.

Any word from Fridge? I really hope she is ok x

Bad weekend food wise. I’m dreading Tuesday...

AFridgeTooFar · 21/01/2019 07:13

Morning!!!

So sorry- I didn't abandon the thread. Horrible week!

Back now!

It'll take me days to catch up!

(PS. One of the paramedics looked like Lorraine Kelly...so it was almost worth it 🤣🤣🤣)

mrbob · 21/01/2019 07:25

Welcome back fridge Sounds eventful!

AFridgeTooFar · 21/01/2019 07:41

Ha! Nothing very exciting, in afraid. I caught the horrific flu which is going around atm, ended up in hospital twice with asthma attacks...oh- and I'm 2lb up this week! This will probably be down to the fact that I've been getting DH to sneak in ice cream to the hospital (the hospital where the only vegan option available sometimes was oven chips...try swallowing oven chips when your throat feels like there's a beach ball stuck in it 🤣).

That's fine though!

a) I've stopped restricting carbs so much. If 2lb is the worst that can happen, bring on the wholemeal wraps!

b) I won't be panicking about fitting in workouts any more...If 2lb- well, see above!

c). It's proof that I can control myself I'm all stable and everything now...not even a sniffle! And I'm actually EXCITED to be back with you all, and back on plan! I don't WANT to take a break now! Living on ice cream has seemed weird, and unnatural to me!

TulipsInbloom1 · 21/01/2019 07:42

Welcome back!!

wizzler · 21/01/2019 07:53

Glad you are back Fridge. Considering we have never met and I don't even know your real name I was really worried about you!

AFridgeTooFar · 21/01/2019 08:05

Sooo...onwards and downwards!

I've got a huge pot of chilli on the stove (early starters in this house, we are!). I want to go back to basics. Almost a do-over of the first month IYSWIM? Good, wholesome food, lots of water, a fuckload of walking, and enthusiasm!

PrivateCello · 21/01/2019 08:08

Good to have you back Fridge and glad to hear you are on the mend! Same in our household, we’ve all been ill one after another!

TheHoundsofLove · 21/01/2019 08:18

Welcome back Fridge ! Glad to hear that you're feeling better.
I'm feeling demoralised by slow progress too... But, I have entered a 10k at the end of March, so have something to train towards. And had a lovely weekend with my dad, so just have to get back on track now.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 21/01/2019 08:18

Welcome back fridge! Hope start of a new week goes well for everyone.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 21/01/2019 08:35

Welcome back Fridge. I’ve been lurking but not posting as i’ve Had the lurgy and gave gone completely off plan. But better now and feeling positive about the week ahead. 2 months until I go away and would love to have s noticeable weight loss by then

fatcatshavemorefun · 21/01/2019 08:48

So, I had an absolutely amazing time on my hen do! Now feeling all warm and fuzzy inside about how great my friends are :)
Thanks to everyone here who gave tips and support! I avoided carbs (except those in alcohol...) and the scales this morning said I am 1.1kg more than on Friday morning. I don’t think that can be ‘real’ weight gain as I really was very good over the weekend food-wise... I had a great time and don’t feel in the least bit guilty about it! Tomorrow’s weeekly weigh in might show a STS for this week but we’ll see....
Well done to everyone else and welcome back Fridge :)

StealthNinjaMum · 21/01/2019 09:09

This thread moves so quickly. Neo, pink hope you're all better.

wizzler that buffet sounds like my idea of heaven hell, you did well to restrain yourself. And I know that deflated feeling when you try something on and it doesn't suit you, I have barely bought any clothes for the last 18 months for that reason. It will get better.

Yay to Dorritt it's a good feeling when someone notices you look thinner. For everyone else I would just say that in winter it will be harder for people to notice we've lost weight. We're all wearing winter coats, big scarves, probably shapeless tops and so it will be less obvious. I've now lost about 20lbs since November and only about 3 people have noticed because most school mums just see me in a coat.

StealthNinjaMum · 21/01/2019 09:36

Fridge Flowers I hope you're feeling better. 2lb is pretty good, it'll easily come off again. Same to fatcats 1.1kg isn't proper weight gain it'll come off, glad you had a good time.

I weighed myself and despite following my calorie limit I have so far lost 0.3lbs in weight since Tuesday! I am hoping that I have a big loss tonight. I am trying to be positive. I think I want to lose about 20lbs so I guess at this rate it'll take a year! I would like to lose it by the summer as I have some lovely summer dresses I haven't worn for about 3 years and I want stbexdh to see me moving on with my brilliant new life without him.

TulipsInbloom1 · 21/01/2019 10:11

Glad everyone has a renewed push for weightloss, we are over the week 3 hump. We have created new habits and broken old one.

Stealth I GZF about the weight gain! My whole attitude has changed...That's an achievement in itself! I'm happy to be me atm! ❤

LittleDoritt · 21/01/2019 11:58

Glad you are back Fridge and Grey.

Terrible weekend, food wise. I am beating myself up about it this morning. Onwards.

AFridgeTooFar · 21/01/2019 12:24

Little don't be so harsh on yourself...at least you recognize it!!!

GreyandGrumpy48 · 21/01/2019 12:36

Little I saw a quote from Michelle Allison on another thread which really resonated with me-Your body is a living creature, an animal in your care that needs care and compassion, that suffers and dies if neglected.

It made me realise if I want to lose weight then beating myself up about my lack of willpower, bad choices etc is never going to work. I need to practise some self care and accept where I am before I can move to what I’d like to be.

HermioneWeasley · 21/01/2019 20:11

FFS. Weighed myself this morn8ng and I’m up to 12:8 so I’ve gained 4lbs in a week apparently. I know it’s a fluctuation but the numbers are only going back down to my starting point and I’m 3 weeks in and I’ve been mainly very good.

I have been spot on all day, despite having a nightmare day, and have fucking sabotaged myself by eating lots of chocolate this evening.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh

LittleDoritt · 21/01/2019 21:39

Thanks ladies. I've felt so bleak today. It's interesting for me, as I know full well how bad my eating habits of the past have been for my body - now I'm seeing just how badly they affect my mental health as well. I felt so much better over the last few weeks.

wizzler · 21/01/2019 23:22

I think a pp said that week 3 would be hard... and they were right.
Good luck everyone weighing in tomorrow.

mrbob · 22/01/2019 01:17

I agree- it has felt a bit more challenging. Novelty has worn off and our brains realise we are not joking!
Good luck in the morning everyone
