Thanks bob. I find it hard work but can already see and feel a difference, just need to keep going!

And a huge well done elma! That’s fantastic!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/01/2019 10:22

Hope you’re all feeling better soon pink

Fiontar649 · 19/01/2019 11:35

Well done Elmashbu - great work!
Hope you are on the mend pink

In the hairdressers, smugly ignoring the biccies on the side of my tea cup 😅

LittleDoritt · 19/01/2019 14:16

That's awesome Elma!

Glad you are on the mend Pink.

I'm just back from a 5 year olds birthday and I ignored all the yummy kiddie party food.

Fridge, where are yooooouuu?? Come back even if you've fallen off the wagon. We're in it for the long haul!

LittleDoritt · 19/01/2019 14:18

Oh and DH said to me this morning "You've lost weight, your coat fits differently" so that was a nice way to start the day!

TheHoundsofLove · 19/01/2019 16:26

Fiontar You're a stronger woman than me for ignoring the biscuits! Wink
Dorrit I can't wait for when I start getting the compliments! Might be a while yet, though, as have only lost another 0.5 lbs this week...
And yes - come back to us Fridge !

Elmashbu · 19/01/2019 16:45

Thanks all- my worry is now it will slow right down. I'm less bloaty so maybe it's that. Still if I can keep up a 1lb at week a least I'll be summer holiday ready by June.

Hope everyone else is doing well. X

HermioneWeasley · 19/01/2019 17:18

Gah, scales have gone me back up again last few days. Grrr.

Been mostly good - a lapse one day this week when I had a migraine and I’ve fallen off the wagon this afternoon but I’ll get back on again tomorrow.

Progress is so slooooow.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 19/01/2019 17:31

Sorry you have been poorly Pink. Glad you’re on the mend!

Hope you’re back soon Fridge x

That’s lovely Doritt and well done for avoiding the biscuit Fiontarr.

I’ve fallen spectacularly off the wagon. Big portion of chips for dinner last night and then several hot chocs today (I’m bad with sugary drinks at the best of times, but didn’t sleep last night and have been stood around in the cold all morning).

I have a few events coming up over February and March and would love to look a little slimmer/healthier...

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/01/2019 17:55

Can’t wait for it to be more noticeable, that’s great your DH noticed today Dorrit

My scales have jumped up too Hermione and it’s hard to keep going when it feels like a step backwards. I’m hoping it’s temporary.

Sounds like you deserved a treat for being out in horrible weather gruffalos and good luck as you re-start.

I’ve just made DS (11mths) sugar free carrot, apple and carrot muffins and they look pretty good and smell AMAZING as they cool! I’m going to need a lot of self control not to scoff them myself. I may need to freeze them.

DH is cooking chicken curry for dinner with lots of veg and I’m watching Tom Kerridge’s recent BBC 2 TV programme - on how he’s helped families change their diet. It’s highlighted that’s DH and I need to plan our meals more.

PinkHeart5914 · 19/01/2019 19:31

Fiontar Well done for resisting biscuits, hair salons are the kind of boring places you end up eating just becuase there is nothing else to do or maybe that’s just me. Did you change hair colour or was it just a tidy up?

Dorrit It’s a lovely little win when clothes start to feel a bit less snug and even better when people start to see the difference as well.

WhenCanISleep Yes freeze the muffins, I make similar muffins for my 3 dc and also freeze as I make a big batch at a time.

Had an ok day food wise as I haven’t felt like eating and can’t taste much due to my cold
Lunch, Veg soup and a roll..Banana
Dinner is going to be chicken breast marinated in lime juice, garlic and chilli with carrot and suede mash, tender stem broccoli, peas. DH is cooking and I will just eat what I can
I am having a glass of cava tonight though as it’s cold and fizzy will be nic for my poorly throat well that’s my excuse

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/01/2019 20:15

Thanks pink I froze most of the muffins. Previously I’d have kept them out and helped him eat them over the next couple of days Blush

LittleDoritt · 19/01/2019 23:43

Totally and utterly fell off the wagon this evening. I just have no back up plan for being too knackered to cook myself a proper dinner. Pizza and garlic bread was had. My one saving grace was that I declined wine and fizzy drinks and just had water. Still feel like a pig though. Must keep on going.

mrbob · 20/01/2019 01:48

I think once people start noticing it makes such a difference to give a boost.
Good work on those who have managed to weather some challenges and dorritt back on the wagon tomorrow Smile You can do it!
I am finding today a challenge. So bloody hungry! Which is the first time in a while but I am about to start my salad at 1230 which was going to be dinner Grin I have already had my breakfast and lunch!

wizzler · 20/01/2019 07:46

Went to pil last night and they did a buffet which seemed to be all carbs😕. Tried to limit my intake and hoping that the long dog walks I do on weekends will limit the negative effect.

MrBob are you in the heatwave? I am in Yorkshire.. we had snow yesterday.

mrbob · 20/01/2019 08:56

Oh god it must be so hard when people put nothing right out and you are hungry and have to be polite! Just write it off and don’t worry too much

Last week was a horrible sweaty heatwave (like Darwin humidity) but we are in a gorgeous time now- I love the dry heat we get most of the time here

wizzler · 20/01/2019 09:27

To be fair, they don't know I am dieting. They are of an age where catering for 10 is hard work, so I think they went to the supermarket and bought lots of beige things to heat up.

Dh does all the cooking here and has been v supportive, making salads, and cooking salmon etc, so can't complain!

Dry heat sounds lovely. I am in our computer bedroom with a hot water bottle... I love a good scald!

Neoflex · 20/01/2019 10:37

Spent the last couple of days with v&d, couldn't eat anything at all. Lost a kilo over two days but think it might just be water. Would be nice if it stays 1 kilo less but probably too good to be true. Can nearly get my wedding ring on again so must have been retaining so much water in my fingers.
So after the horrific bug I think I am allowed to skip the gym today right?

Fiontar649 · 20/01/2019 10:58

So after the horrific bug I think I am allowed to skip the gym today right?

Absolutely! I would also count the kilo as this week's weight loss

Just tidied up my underwear and knitwear drawers. Can't wait to chuck a lot of it, but don't want to get too enthusiastic yet!

Dry January is making Sunday mornings more productive, that's for sure!

mrbob · 20/01/2019 11:08

It is amazing how much time you get back from hangovers! I regret my wasted university years (well some of them- some were worth it!)

LittleDoritt · 20/01/2019 11:38

Sounds awful Neo, definitely skip the gym.

Scales are up 2lbs this morning after the pizza blip. Gaaah! Better be gone by Tuesday Grin

WhenCanISleepAgain · 20/01/2019 12:38

Hope you feel better soon neo - not the most fun way to lose weight!

I’m sure some if not most of that is water weight because of the salt in pizza dorrit and there’s a good chance it’ll go down again by Tuesday.

After the scales bouncing up yesterday I have lost a pound today. But I’ve not been careful with calories today so far.

Enjoy the heat bob and snow wizzler. Cold with blue skies down south today.

wizzler · 20/01/2019 16:55

Feeling a bit deflated. Had a wander around some shops and spotted a lovely soft ochre top in next that I thought would look great with leggings. This was a huge departure from the normal grey shapeless tunic I wear. Omg. I look like a sack of ferrets in it. Talk about unforgivingSad. It has definitely knocked my confidence...

WhenCanISleepAgain · 20/01/2019 20:18

Sorry you’re feeling deflated wizzler. It’s so hard when something hits to remind us that there’s still a long way ahead but be kind to yourself and remember you’ve made such a good start.

Fiontar649 · 20/01/2019 20:22

wizzler same here. Met some family members for lunch and a photo was taken. I am the fattest by a mile. It's disheartening. I am telling myself "well 3 weeks ago you'd have been even rounder". Blah.
