I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

That new 5:2 looks tough!

Greenrabbit · 07/01/2019 20:58

You’ve all done so well today.

Managed day one of the plan. It was fine, felt like quite a lot of food.
I didn’t get round to doing any exercise though.

Rachey. The book says you can carry on with the plan for 24 weeks. Then she says to add in an extra carb meal and reduce training. (I think that might be for the gym plan, there’s an active plan too. I’m starting with sedentary so haven’t looked at the other plans much).

Hope your first days back at work okay.

I think I might go to bed early too 😂

Racheyg · 08/01/2019 08:11

Morning all,
Was asleep by 10.00, wasn't solid sleep but I reckon I got a good six hours. I'm going to have to learn to switch my phone off.

green well done on your first day. I love hearing of new plans ☺️ maybe it's the serial dieter in me 😂.

Did anyone watch how to lose weight well? They had a diet called Greggs where you can eat breakfast, lunch, dinner from Greggs as long as you came under 1800 cals and no snacking. I was like wtf? It would cost a fortune he did lose a lot of weight though but he had a lot to lose so.

Today's plan
Breakfast - berries and 0% Greek yogurt - 143 cals (will eat this about 12.30 so have a 16hr fast window)
Lunch- 300g m&s veggie soup
Snack - 2 boil eggs
Dinner - egg salad with eat protein cheese and light cesear dressing

Will also do a 45 min spin class tonight so won't get to eat dinner till 8.30ish

Have a good day everyone x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/01/2019 09:20

Well done on your first day Green, what did you eat for the plan?

Rachey that doesn’t seem like too much food, will you not be starving? I was asleep by 10 too, I was so tired and hungry.

How did you find your fast day Pom?

I’m going to try and manage on 1150 again today. I have a bit of a cold so not sure how that will go.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 08/01/2019 09:47

Just had a 30 minute run although might have been more of a shuffle. Back later !

Pomegranatepompom · 08/01/2019 13:54

Well done on day 1 Green and good luck for today.

Yes I saw the last half hour Rachey I can predict I wouldn't lose weight on the Gregs diet, although I wouldn't be tempted to try it.

My fast day was ok as fast days go ! Hope your cold is not too bad Sol

How are you getting on Lulu ?

I haven't looked at the diet plan, just aiming for 800 cals. I'll try and get more organised.
Managed a 16 hour fast today.
Lunch: chicken and salad 300 cals
Mid afternoon snack: yogurt& fruit 200 cals
Not sure re dinner, maybe small amount of chilli with veg.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Pomegranatepompom · 08/01/2019 17:20

It will be 1000- had some chocolate Blush

SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/01/2019 19:19

Well done on your run Pom, you spurred me on to go for a walk. I felt much better for it afterwards. And surely you’ve earned chocolate on a run day.

We don’t have Greggs in Ireland so I never know what the fuss is about. I don’t really liked pastry so I think it would be wasted on me anyway.

I’m on 924 cals for the day so far. I might try and leave it at that or have some soup if I’m starving. Rachey I tried your butternut squash and chilli mix, it was gorgeous, how have I never had it before? I think that will be a go to recipe from now on.

I wasn’t as active today but I don’t feel as desperately hungry as I thought I would. It’ll be the weekend that will be the trickiest. Anyone any survival tips?

Racheyg · 08/01/2019 19:19

sol unfortunately that meal plan is 745 cals 😭 yes I'm starving 😂 I'm at the gym.....I couldn't stand being at home with all that food.

How did your day go? Has your cold got worse?

pom well done on your shuffle run. Your meal plan looks great. I think that even the changes we are doing will make a difference on the scales?

I couldn't resist a cheeky weigh in tonight. I'm 11st 9lb so 2lbs off since Friday. I'm pretty chuffed. Will still weigh on Friday hoping to see another small change. 🤞🏻

green what's on the meal plan tonight? How was your second day?

lulu how are you getting on?

Racheyg · 08/01/2019 19:23

sol how was your walk? I'm not a huge lover of Greggs prefer a proper bakers put I love love love pastry 😬
I know tell me about it, I'm glad you like it, it really filled me up as well.

I have not tips other than try and get out the house? Unfortunately it's only me on a diet so there is still a lot of nice food in the house. I'm hoping to go for a walk if it stays dry.

I know I'm only 8 days into veggie January but I may continue

Lulutheboss · 08/01/2019 20:01

Hi Folks!
It’s been a super busy two days back at school and whilst I have made some good changes, I have succumbed to the evil chocolate!
What’s more, I have gained about three pounds this week. Wtf???
Needless to say I’m not in a particularly good mood!
Day off tomorrow so will try to compose myself.
Well done to you all for sticking at it and for your losses!

Pomegranatepompom · 08/01/2019 20:47

Sorry about your 3lbs Lulu. I hope they’ll go quickly.

I’m not bothered about pastry with but I’m a total chocolate fiend. I need to be more disciplined.
After some picking I think today will come in at 1200. Aiming for 800 tomorrow.
I had spinach, pepper and cheese omelette for dinner.

How you managed your walk Rachey.
Big motivated wave to green and sol !

Lulutheboss · 08/01/2019 21:21

Thanks Pom. It’s hurdles like this that make me give up but I really can’t afford to. This year I have to sort myself out!
Great work sticking to those low cals. Are you feeling hungry? Do you think it’s sustainable?
I am very inspired by a poster on other threads called Fatedestiny. She stuck to about 800cals and lost loads.

Racheyg · 08/01/2019 21:27

lulu sorry about the gain, I'm sure it will be gone quickly.

pom I didn't walk in the end but I might start in the evenings like sol I just did a spin class. Burnt 530 cals but I then got home and ate a large salad with loads of dressing 2 tuc and 2 chocolates. I reckon this little sabotage has upped my cals to 1200 😔

Racheyg · 09/01/2019 08:43

Morning,

Have a splitting headache this morning and kids were playing up 😭 just want to dive in a pool full of junk food right now.

Feel awful about my glutinous ways last night.

Meal plan:
Breakfast - berries and 0% Greek yogurt
Snack - eggs
Lunch - m&s veggie soup
Dinner - roasted butternut squash with quorn pieces and salad

I'm going to need a miracle to stop me eating today. Hope everyone is well?

Greenrabbit · 09/01/2019 09:18

Morning everyone.

I survived day 2. It was difficult. Didn’t eat my snacks during the day but couldn’t face them last night.

I’ll post what I’ve ate later today.

Hope you all have a good day.

Racheyg · 09/01/2019 17:35

Bad day today 😭

Lulutheboss · 09/01/2019 17:39

Oh no Rachey! I guess something has to give when we’re stressed. Hope you get a good nights sleep and start tomorrow as a new day!
In desperation, I have been to Boots to buy some Slimfast. I’m going to try to take food out of the equation during the day so that I don’t overindulge.
How’s everyone else getting on?

Pomegranatepompom · 09/01/2019 18:24

Lulu can you link the thread - inlike inspiration! Have you tried the lighter life bars/soups etc you can get them on Superdrug and they have less sugar than slimfast. I’ve used it before - considering doing a week as a kickstart.
Sorry you had a bad day Rachey.
Hope day 3 went well Green
How are you Sol?

Another crazy day at work.
Had yogurt and fruit at 1400 - 300
Just had soup -150
Are 2 chocolates as was stressed -100

Might not have dinner.
It’s not sustainable Lulu but I want a loss this week !

Lulutheboss · 09/01/2019 19:11

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/3456827-2019-is-the-year-we-lose-weight
She’s in loads of different threads but this one is quite recent.
Fair enough. Hope you get that loss Pom.
I haven’t tried lighter life but have done Exante before. It’s probably a bit of an impulse buy but i’ll try it out.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/01/2019 20:10

Hi all,

Sorry to hear you’re having a rubbish day Rachey, was there something that triggered it? Just start again tomorrow, take a big deep breath, all is not lost. I think your diet might be too severe and that’s why you’re struggling, if you did the plan every second day it might help.

Green please post up your menu each day, I’m dying to see what it’s like.

Lulu I’ve never done SlimFast but I have done Exante, when are you starting?

I have been having cauliflower rice with mushrooms, onions and spinach mixed with a little stock, garlic and peri peri sauce for lunch and it is gorgeous. It comes to 139 calories but it’s a pretty big bowlful and it’s tasty. That’s my meal tip for today!

I’ve been really tired lately so I started taking a multivitamin to see if it makes a difference and I definitely feel a bit better, plus my nails are shinier. I am struggling with the lack of junk food, I’d gotten completely hooked on sugar over Christmas, it feels like I’m in detox.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/01/2019 20:12

I can’t believe you made it to 2pm and then just had fruit Pom, I’d have been chewing my arm off. Are you doing two different types of fasting? I think you should always have an emergency 100 cals for chocolate, it only seems wise.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/01/2019 10:54

Woke up starving this morning. Finished the day yesterday on 940 cals, not on purpose, DS2 was an absolute animal to put to bed so I had no dinner, I had a bag of popcorn.

Can’t go for a walk this morning as it is hammering down with rain but made spicy broccoli rice for lunch so looking forward to that. That’s how I know I’m starving.

I hope everyone has a good day today!!!!

OP posts:
Racheyg · 10/01/2019 12:40

Sorry to hear about ds2, sol if it's any consolation ds2 has turned into a lairy monster, shouting and just being rude. Lunch sounds delish 😋

lulu wow fatedestiney has done so well. Good luck on slim fast, that's one diet I've never tried 😂

pom hope you day today is better. Did you eat dinner in the end? I ended yesterday at 1000 cals.

green how's day four going?

Did a spin class (again) and burnt 636 cals. Going to really try and focus today. Haven't eaten yet as just been to Waitrose and stocked up on veggie stuff. (There is a third off most stuff) sol have you tried Linda McCartney shredded duck it's delish.

Not sure on the meal plan today, won't be eating till ds2 has finished tumble tots so it will be about 15.15 might just have veggie soup.

Have a good day everyone xx

Pomegranatepompom · 10/01/2019 18:57

I like the idea of your veggie dish Sol. Hope DS goes to bed better tonight.

Hope you had a better day Rachey? Well done on the calories and exercise.

I’ve had 600 cals so far. Chicken and salad for dinner. Probably end the day on 900. Work ok apart from annoying person !
Hope all well Green and Lulu
