New Year, New Motivation - The Notso’s are back on track!

I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Sorry to hear you had a tough day at work Pom, I hope everything is ok. I’m an emotional eater too. I’ve no idea about boxsets, I rewatch the West Wing, Parks and Rec (first season isn’t very good) and Fraiser - which is what I watch to make me feel better. Modern Family is good too. I don’t get to watch too much tv, we don’t have Netflix or Sky or anything.

Lulu I’ve had the worst heartburn over Christmas, Id only ever had it when I was pregnant, it’s awful. Let’s get this 4 stone gone this year.

Rachey I will gladly give you this bug. I look like shit but definitely losing my double chin, so silver linings and all that. Executive PA sounds very glamorous, but it’s very unfair that you’re working a full time job in part time hours.

I went and bought some workout stuff last night. Some weights, a balance board and I’ve looked up a few YouTube videos to start using at home. I won’t get a chance to work out until the kids are back in school but I’m ok with that.

Just a quickie weighed myself and I'm 11st 11lbs. I'm going to weigh every Friday. I'm mortified I've put nearly 2stone on in 2 months.

sol sounds glam but it isn't. I just seem to do a lot of varied things. If I went elsewhere with that job would probably be very different.

Just completed my spin class 517 cals burnt. Going to aim for 1000 cals to eat today.

Brunch (will be) egg white mushroom omelette with brown toast

Snack - veggie crudités

Dinner - naked veggie fajitas (quorn pieces with butternut squash) and salad

Well done on your class Rachey. Don’t feel down about your weight - you can do it !

That sounds very motivated Sol. I think I need to do something like Pilates as well as the running. Hope you are feeling better?

Fair play to you on doing the class Rachey, did you manage to stick to your 1000 cals?

I had dinner out and a party to go to last night, I portioned off everything and totted it up this morning and it came to 1914 cals for the whole day. I’m actually pretty happy about that considering I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself of a good time by watching my calories.

Feeling really motivated as I met a woman who I haven’t seen in ages last night and she has lost 3.5 stone in the last year and she looks 15 years younger. I’m not being dramatic when I say she looked better than in her 20’s. I really want that to be be me (not that I will look better than when I was in my 20’s, it’s a diet not a miracle), but I want to look as good as she does.

Morning,

sol I'm glad you had a good night out. I didn't stick to 1000 cals as I took the kids to soft play and McDonald's so I ate the left over chips. I came in at 1200 cals.

pom* thanks, we can all do it this year.

Just did my circuit class, had to do a little low impact as I keep straining my lower back I think I burnt 450cals which isn't the greatest but not bad as there was a lot weights.

Not such a great day food wise......

Breakfast - egg white omelette with mushrooms and jalapeño with a slice of brown toast
Lunch - falafel and hummus salad with hummus crisps
Dinner - cauliflower pizza base with anchovies, black olives and sundries tomatoes

Snack - popcorn

I think today is about 1500 cals 😬

I still haven’t started properly (well -not at all).
I’ve bought Chloe Madley’s new book and I’m doing that from Monday.

Hello folks!
Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet. Well done for all those classes you’ve been going to. 500+ cals in one spin session is amazing! Do you have a sore bum now Rachey? Grin
I’m not doing particularly well. I’ve already fallen off the wagon. So pathetic! I wonder how I will actually do this if I can’t stick to it for more than a couple of days.
Back to school on Monday. Maybe the routine will get me back on the straight and narrow.

green the reviews on Amazon look good. The best thing is she seems relatable. What happens after 28 days? Is there a maintenance programme as well?

lulu no sore bum here ☺️ I do about 3-4 spin classes a week so my bum has become accustomed to the hard saddle 😂 are you look forward to going back to work? I'm desperate for school to start my kids have been driving me crazy 😬

sol it's funny you should say about looking like you did in your twenties.......I look better now. I was very big at one stage then lost loads so I was constant yo-yo weight wise and plus I didn't really dress for my shape, so I looked awful most of the time 😂

pom how are things your side? Tomorrow is our first proper fast day, what are you planning food wise?

Did my usual 8am 1hr spin class burnt 701 cals 🥵 felt good afterwards thought. Had a big breakfast - 2 poached eggs, 2 quorn sausage patties, mushrooms and avocado 1 slice of 50/50
Was slightly high in cals at 405 but I'll try and be good the rest of the day.

Not sure what to do today? Cleaned kitchen and put a load on. Ds2 still holds his poo and he is desperate to go so not sure I fancy going out too far also behaviour isn't the greatest so don't fancy rewarding them with a fun day out. Would have loved a walk on the gruffalo trail in Brentwood but left their wellies at my parents 🙈

Argh, trying so hard not to eat the left over chocolate and biscuits.

Just had mixed bean chilli with butternut squash topped with eat protein cheese

Trying to work out what to do for dinner? May just do a basic roasted veg pasta sauce.

I had an ok day food wise.........
Dinner was roasted veg tomato sauce with slim pasta and 3 slices of garlic bread and eat protein cheese

I think my cal intake today is 1200 cals

Dh has had to take ds1 to hospital tonight, he stuck a pea yo his nose to high to blow out

Lulu I've been pretty rubbish too - lets start again Smile I am sure back to school will help.
All your exercise is amazing rachey I also think your food has been very good.

My plan for tomorrow is: yogurt and bluesberries -150 cals, veg soup 250 cals. chicken stir fry 200 cals.

Thanks Pom. Yes, hopefully the routine will help. I’ve done a marathon meal prep for the week so hopefully that will keep me on track. There’s still so much chocolate in the house, it’s difficult to resist! Green, are you starting tomorrow too?
Good to hear Rachey. I like spinning but I need my padded shorts!
Not looking forward to going back really. We’ve had such a lovely, relaxed two weeks. I’m going to struggle with the early start. So long lie ins!!

Morning all,
Argh forgot how much I hate this commute.

My meal plan today - to be under 600 cals
Breakfast - raspberries, strawberries and blueberries 50g of each and 150g 0% Greek yogurt = 143 cals
Snack - 1 large carrot 100g = 42 cals
Lunch - m&s veggie soup 300g = 82 cals
Dinner - really not sure have mixed bean chilli in the fridge but may have just salad or veggies then early to bed.

I'm dreading today, have had 2 weeks off.

Morning.

I had a terrible food day yesterday. Lots of carbs and picking at stuff. I’ve arrived early for work though so I’m off for a walk for a bit.

It’s so hard getting into the swing of dieting again. But I don’t want to be so big for much longer. I think I’m going to not weigh myself until the end of January, I don’t need the pressure. I just need to get my head down, be hungry for a few weeks and get moving.

God, I’m going to be so hungry.

pom have you seen the new 5:2 diet? Apparently you do 2 weeks of 800 cals then do 600 cals on fast days 2 a week. Not sure whether I should try this?

how are you feeling today? I know you don't need me giving you advice but mixed bean chilli bulked out with butternut squash really was filling and I think worked out at 250cals

lulu how was your first day back?

green how was your Monday?

I've been a little naughty and had 6 corn cakes at 23 cals each. But I haven't eaten lunch and I won't be eating dinner for at least another hour (still on tube home)

I was looking at the new 5:2 too. I don’t think I could manage it just yet, but I was thinking it could be good for March.

I’m sure the corn cakes didn’t break the bank Rachey, were they worth it?

I went on a very quick walk before work, it was up a hill and I was huffing and puffing all the way up. I’m now trying to avoid going downstairs so I don’t eat anymore. I came in at 712 calories so far.

Yogurt, granola, fruit 300 cals
Soup 150
1 cracker ? 70
Having chicken stirfry 200
Around 800 cals if count coffees etc

Yes they were worth it ☺️ I've mfp my daily intake and I'm bang on 800cals
