New Year, New Motivation - The Notso’s are back on track!

I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Pom I’m an emotional eater too. Not caving when you are stressed is a huge achievement, seriously, no matter what the scales say on Sunday you should be aware that you have broken a cycle.

Rachey I really like the Body Coach veggie plan, DH has the recipe book and the recipes are really nice.

So tonight is my work Christmas party, I skipped it because I was out last night and I’m out again tomorrow night. I bought 2 new tops and trousers today for Christmas. All a size 16, yes that isn’t a small size, but 12 weeks ago I wouldn’t have fit in it. Progress is progress.

Green, how are you?

Racheyg · 11/12/2019 08:47

Whoop whoop well done sol That's amazing. It's so nice when clothes you haven't worn in ages you can fit into.

I'm not doing so good here, too busy to go to the gym and my eating is all over the show. Really going to knuckle down in new year.

pon and green how are you both?

Pomegranatepompom · 11/12/2019 10:49

Size 16 is brill Sol.

I think I lost 5lbs (in 2 weeks) but this morning looked like 3 🙄 will weigh again on Monday.

It’s difficult to find time and be focused this time of year Rachey. I need a very lean 2020 as I have a few weddings etc

Transform84 · 11/12/2019 16:30

Hello I've started a coffee that helped with my weight loss goals and it's staying off as it is shaping me without even doing any excercise

Transform84 · 11/12/2019 16:30

Hey you need to try this coffee

SolitudeSometimesIs · 24/12/2019 05:19

Happy Christmas everyone!!!

I hope you all have a brilliant Christmas, I am not dieting at all over the next few days, instead I will be stuffing my face like face like Jesus intended.

Happy Christmas!
Hope everyone has a great holiday. X

Pomegranatepompom · 24/12/2019 18:38

Happy Christmas and see you all for a skinny 2020 x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/12/2019 08:23

How did everyone survive Christmas?

I’m trying my best to eat sensibly but the delicious food we have lying around isn’t helping. I haven’t weighed myself yet, putting it off until the New Year. I’m dragging the kids to the park today so we’re can all get some fresh air and I can burn off a few calories.

We’ve one more family meal in the New Year and be then I’ll be following the F800 again. Going to do some meal prep today so I can start with a full freezer.

Pomegranatepompom · 29/12/2019 09:17

I can’t face the scales yet. I feel motivated to start 1 Jan. I’ll probably have 2 stone to lose. Fingers crossed. Shall we have a new motivational thread??

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/12/2019 15:07

I have to be honest, I’ll probably be hungover and needing carbs on the 1st, so I plant to start on the 2nd.

We had a lovely walk through the park and now I feel I have earned all the crisps I’m picking at.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 29/12/2019 16:08

I might start on 2nd too !

Pomegranatepompom · 29/12/2019 16:09

Yo oh definitely wasn’t those crisps, I’m snacking on cheese 😳

Racheyg · 01/01/2020 19:36

Happy Christmas and New year all. I hope you all had a great time with family and friends?

Had a busy week as went away to butlins in between Christmas and new year. Kids loved it. I've eaten far too much.

Started the body coach again today.
Breakfast - homemade granola with 0% Greek yogurt
Snack - trail mix (mixture of nuts and dried fruit)
Lunch - spinach and feta frittata
Snack - Apple
Dinner - aubergine parmigiana

It's crazy how much portions were. I weighed out 70g of yogurt and it was tiny.

I have a good feeling about this year x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 02/01/2020 08:01

Happy New Year!!!

Rachey you sound very organised and motivated. I need some of that. I know what you mean about portion sizes, I think we have all lost sight of what a healthy portion looks like. How was Butlins? I used to go there as a kid and loved it.

Have you started again Pom?

I have one more meal out today and then I’ll be back on F800 full time. I even joined some Facebook groups to give me motivation. Planning to fast as much as possible today and have to do the dreaded weigh in. Not looking forward to that at all.

Green how are you getting on?

OP posts:
Racheyg · 02/01/2020 22:45

Evening all,

sol where did you go out for a meal? Did you have a good time? Did you weigh in?

Butlins was good the kids love it and you don't have to pay for the rides and activities.

Had a kids party today and I avoided all the kids food.

Today I ate:
Breakfast (after my spin class) - hevous rancheros
(It was relish)
Snack - trail mix
Snack - orange and nuts
Dinner - tofu red Thai curry

I am well pleased with my breakfast and I was full up for quite a while so have add a picture (sorry I'm well proud)

That breakfast looks amazing Rachey, what was the recipe if you don’t mind sharing? Well done on avoiding the kids party food, that’s the ultimate test because I always think a little bit won’t harm and then I’ve eaten a bowl of Pom Bears and it’s all gone to shit.

We went to a Lebanese restaurant for dinner, we had a big mezze meal with loads of veg and chickpea dishes, it was incredible. I avoided the rice and bread and only had 2 glasses of wine but I’m dreading trying to get back on track.

I weighed myself yesterday morning, I put on 5lbs over Christmas which is mostly down to wine and crisps so hopefully I won’t be too long losing it (and the other 4 stone).

So today is Day One of the F800. I have all my meals prepped from last week so I just have to take them out of the freezer. No excuses. I also have a shopping list of healthy stuff for DH to buy tonight. We’ve also had to scrap his car, it was a piece of crap, so we’re down to one car now so I will be walking to and from work every day now, so building in some exercise.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/01/2020 08:57

Today’s menu:
Lunch: chickpea curry and cauliflower rice - 165 cals
Dinner: Fresh veg soup - 29 cals
Quorn tikka masala - 197 cals.

I have loads of calories leftover so I’ll keep them for any snacks I might need. Determined not to go over the 800 on my first day.

Racheyg · 03/01/2020 19:23

Well done sol* that's excellent control. I love meze.

5lbs is pretty good, I'm sure I've put on about 10lbs.

Did another spin class this morning, I'm really struggling to get my fitness levels back.

Lunch - jacket potato with tuna
Snack - trail mix
Dinner - tofu red Thai curry

Racheyg · 03/01/2020 19:23

I added jalapeños and hot sauce 🥰

SolitudeSometimesIs · 04/01/2020 17:34

Thanks for the recipe. I will add that to my menu for next week. You’ll get your fitness levels back up in no time Rachey, you were super fit and I believe in muscle memory so you will be back up there soon.

I woke up this morning 4lbs down so I’m happy. Stuck to plan today but a bit over on carbs, same as yesterday, at the early stage with so much to lose I don’t think it makes a huge difference. DH made a massive feta, rocket and beetroot salad for dinner and it was incredible. I’m having it again tomorrow.

We took down the Christmas tree and all the decorations today, it was like a workout. I’m knackered.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 04/01/2020 18:19

sol wow that sounds 🤤 delish.

4lbs is amazing you should be proud of yourself.

I did a circuit class today. Only 30 mins but it wore me out 😂

Breakfast - huveros rancheros
Lunch - tofu and Asian slaw (red cabbage and carrot with a chilli and peanut sauce)
Snack - nuts
Dinner -saag Paneer

How are you green and Pom?

Racheyg · 06/01/2020 09:26

Morning all,

Your going to hear a lot from me while I settle back into my diet. Mostly just rambling due to hunger 😂

Did my 8am spin yesterday and I didn't spin my legs out properly so I was proper stiff all day yesterday so I didn't leave the house. Dh took the boys to the park for an hour while I cleaned.

Yesterday meal plan :
Breakfast - protein pancakes
Lunch - Spanish eggs
Snack - nuts
Dinner - aubergine parmigiana

Today (yes this diet is all about planning and prepping)

Breakfast - Greek yogurt and granola
Snack - fruit
Lunch - aubergine parmigiana
Snack - trail mix
Dinner - tofu red Thai curry

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It's my first day back to work. And I managed to squeeze into my work clothes 😂

Happy Monday everyone

SolitudeSometimesIs · 06/01/2020 16:02

Your menu sounds lovely Rachey, you’re very organised. I can’t imagine getting up and exercising in the morning. I think I’d keel over. Hopefully when I lose a few stone I’ll be more motivated.

I put on a pound today, I’m fairly sure it was the few handfuls of popcorn I had yesterday, very carby. The kids were having hot chocolate after school today, the smell was amazing. I had to stop myself taking a slug.

Lunch today was an Eden spinach and feta burger and some leftover lentil Dahl. It was gorgeous.

Dinner is a cauliflower steak thing by the lean in 15 guy.
