New Year, New Motivation - The Notso’s are back on track!

I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Well that didn’t go according to plan. Yeah I’m going to draw a line under today and start tomorrow. DH realised the error of his ways and brought me coffee and Maltesers and the wheels came off then and there.

I really sympathise with the lack of sleep Pom, it’s unbearable. Do you struggle to stay on plan when you’re exhausted? Did you manage to stay on plan today?

Pomegranatepompom · 03/11/2019 08:16

No I didn’t stick to plan - I feel more motivated today. Fingers crossed. Yes I’m permanently exhausted. We don’t have any help with childcare though and working/ commuting/ sorting house out has been challenging.
Hope DS slept better past 2 nights. I did weigh in, I’ve 2 stone to lose.
Glad your DH realised error of his ways ! X

SolitudeSometimesIs · 04/11/2019 13:56

Your homelife sounds very similar to ours Pom, it’s gruelling never getting a break. My family think she it’s hilarious that we’re in bed early but whenever you don’t get proper sleep it’s very full on.

Is your house nearly how you want it to be? We were looking at moving but I think we’ll leave it until the Spring.

Pomegranatepompom · 04/11/2019 16:37

It’s so exhausting Sol. I think it makes you feel a bit down? I feel all I do is work and childcare. I sometimes get clothes but then return them as I don’t have anywhere to wear them ! I did get some ridiculously impractical shoes but I will wear on my work night out.
House - it’s definitely improving. I don’t feel relaxed though. Still traumatised by monster spiders 🙁
Where are you thinking of moving ? Christmas so close now, might be better to wait til afterwards ?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 06/11/2019 17:36

I had a rant to my DH about how all our conversations are about housework, the kids or how to sort out our schedules so someone can do whatever boring emergency has cropped up. It’s like bloody Groundhog Day without the comedy.

Part of me wants to move to a big house halfway up a hill in the middle of the country, my more sensible side thinks I should buy a nicer area close to where we are now. I’d actually hate country living and the kids are in a nice school so I need to stop dreaming.

Hopefully the spiders will die off over the Winter. I hate them too. Have you a good hoover that you can kill them with? Maybe spend some money on nice Christmas scented candles and nice interiors to change your memories a bit.

Evening all,

I am so sorry I have been MIA got back from holiday 2 weeks ago and I've felt like I've been down a rabbit hole ever since. Work is crazy and I'm really struggling at home.

I'm having huge issues with ds1 I don't even know where to begin, could do with advise but I don't want it my issues on here.

Oh pom I'm with you on lose 2 stone. I'm bloody 12 stone. 😲 sounds thought not having childcare care near by. We are very lucky that my mil is very hands on and so is my dsis.

sol I hope ds2 is sleeping better? Where are you thinking of moving too? Inner city or country?

Pomegranatepompom · 09/11/2019 15:33

I’m the same Rachey. Despite this pretty much ate/drank my body weight in cheese and wine last night.
Pm us? Sorry to hear things are tough.

Sounds like you need a house near where you are now Sol? I’ve a reasonable hoover, I think it’s too cold for them not but I don’t want to live on my nerves Aug - Oct....
Groundhog without comedy here too- I’m going to try and make some changes. Will try and sort out a babysitter for a night out before Christmas. It’s exhausting having no childcare support.

Pomegranatepompom · 15/11/2019 10:41

Shall I assume we are all still a bit chubby Grin

Greenrabbit · 16/11/2019 16:53

Very chubby 🙄😂

Racheyg · 16/11/2019 23:05

I'm the biggest I've been for a long time. Very disappointed in myself 😬

SolitudeSometimesIs · 21/11/2019 08:56

Chubby here too. I’m lighter than I was in September but I am very...gloopy. That’s the only way I can describe it. My stomach is so soft and has folds, I think I can lose weight but my figure will always look awful. I know I should work out to firm up but I can’t. Sorry for the depressing post.

I’m trying to stick to my diet until Christmas, low cal, low carb, much hunger.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? Normally I’m all sorted by now but I haven’t done anything.

Pomegranatepompom · 25/11/2019 21:16

It's so depressing.
I'm starting tomorrow,
Might even to something drastic ..

SolitudeSometimesIs · 26/11/2019 05:29

Nothing too drastic I hope Pom, we don’t want want to see you on an episode of Botched or anything.

I just need to stick to my plan for longer than 2 days. That would help me immensely. I have been up since 2am, lots of silly stuff swirling in my head keeping me awake, but I have made a massive dent in my Christmas shopping thanks to Amazon and I’ve organised a fund raising event for my kids school. How come I can do all that crap before 6am but I can’t resist a bag of crisps?

It’s the first of December on Sunday, I wanted 20lbs gone by Christmas, I will make my peace with 14lbs. I’m dreading the upcoming round of Christmas parties, I’ve managed to avoid one on Saturday as we couldn’t get a babysitter but the one for work is looming and I’m dreading it. I’m so fat 😭😭😭

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 26/11/2019 10:04

Drastic as in lighter life for a week ... maybe....

well done on the `Christmas shopping, I've done hardly any.

Work party, cut carbs, good blow dry and make up you'll be fine !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 27/11/2019 21:21

Have you started lighter life Pom? Is that shakes?

I have had one meal per day for the last 3 days, but had some wine last night. So in the words of every teacher I have ever had “must try harder”.

I weighed myself yesterday and had lost 5lbs, weighed myself this morning and I had gained back .6 of a lb. Wine weight is real.

How is everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 27/11/2019 21:25

Hi everyone.
I’m doing so badly at dieting.
I think I’ll have to join you on with drastic measures Pom.
I’m also having Christmas night out panic.
I don’t feel like I’ve sorted much for Christmas either.
Really need to get things together.

Pomegranatepompom · 28/11/2019 06:48

5lbs is great Sol.

I’m having a final push before doing replacement bars. 4 day’s of eating in a 7 hour window, aiming for 1000 cals.
Want to try Green?

Pomegranatepompom · 28/11/2019 20:32

If a success will keep going with it until Saturday 22nd when as far as I’m concerned it’s Christmas !🌲

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/11/2019 16:47

I’ve been doing extended fasting and have switched to one meal per day since last week and as of this morning I have lost 24 lbs since Sept.

I will admit I have fallen off the wagon spectacularly at stages but overall I am delighted. I didn’t diet for 2 weeks in Oct and 2 in Nov because I was very stressed out. Since switching to OMAD I have lost 10lbs this week. Delighted! Today is my official weigh in day.

Not one person has noticed though. I’ve dropped a dress size and no one has said anything. Even DH only said something because I was wearing a top I couldn’t previously because I looked like the Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters in it. I am clearly still gigantic, even with 24 lbs gone I am still obese, but on I go.

I am also still gloopy. Toying with the idea of swimming a few times a week but I haven’t found time. Instead of a takeaway tonight I have spent all the money on Christmas scented candles. My house smells amazing.

I know this is a bit of a rambling mess of a post, but I have an hour until I can eat and I’m trying to keep myself busy.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 02/12/2019 22:27

Omg sol that is amazing. You should be very proud of yourself.

I will be back, had a crazy few weeks dieting has been terrible 😭

SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/12/2019 06:03

Thanks Rachey Blush I feel better for it, just slightly disappointed that I’m not skinny yet. But that’s what happens when you’re very fat I suppose. I hope everything’s ok with you?

This day 3 weeks is Christmas Eve, I have completely lost my Christmas spirit, so hoping an hour browsing the shops today will help. Has anyone got any ideas how to get me in the Christmas zone? Help!!

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 04/12/2019 13:36

24 lbs is amazing. I’m sorry you’re feeling down - keep chipping away, as long as we’re on a downward trend (which you are!) it’s progress. We need to be kind to ourselves...
I’ve tried to stick to 1200 and no eating after 2000. Will weigh in on Monday - tom this week. Felt very hormonal. I need to do something (but what!)

Pomegranatepompom · 04/12/2019 13:37

Christmas zone - the candies should help? Could you get a beauty advent calendar?

Green/ rachey- I’m convinced 2020 will be skinny 🤔

Racheyg · 04/12/2019 17:14

pom* I hope so, I have been so bad this year. I have signed back up to the body coach which I'll start in January. I'm doing the veggie plan, so dh can do it with me.

Pomegranatepompom · 05/12/2019 07:12

I’ve had a stressful few weeks and I normally comfort eat but I was feeling so miserable about my weight, I’ve made a conscious effort not to. Not followed a diet but restricted calories although suspect I’m having more than I think as I’m a picker. Will weigh in Sunday as probably having Sunday off.
Have a good day everyone.
