I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Ohhh sol your lentil dhal sounds delish 😋
Speaking of cauliflower, I went to one of these hipster bakery and they had a cauliflower, tahini and roasted veg ciabatta- it was the most amazing sandwich I've ever had. - and I am a confirmed meat lover. I only wish I could recreate it.

I love cauliflower, I just wish I know how to make the most of it. Wagamama does these cauliflower in a spicy sauce it's sooo good. I'm guessing it's the way you flavour it.

I'm not really sleeping at the moment. It's starting to really wind me up as I know no reason why??

Meal plan for today
Breakfast - protein smoothie (almond butter, raspberries, whey protein, almond milk) I not get excited but this but we have run out of the homemade granola so need to pop to Holland and batter for more ingredients.
Snack - fruit
Lunch -tofu and aubergine Thai red curry
Snack - trail mix
Dinner - not sure yet but something quick as I'm exercising late today.

I hope everyone is having a great start to the year. X

SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/01/2020 08:44

That sandwich sounds amazing. I wonder if there’s a recipe online? Wagamama recipes are usually on Pinterest, the ingredients can be very specialised though.

DH does the best cauliflower steaks. He does them in a skillet after he microwaves it for a bit to soften it up. It is gorgeous. Loads of salt, pepper and garlic. I hated cauliflower as it was always mushy, but it’s so good cooked properly.

What’s your sleep cycle like? Do you think you’re not having enough time to wind down? DS2 isn’t sleeping at the moment, lack of sleep is an absolute killer, and for me it leads to sugar.

Today’s menu:
Lunch: radish, tomato, beetroot and feta salad. Spinach and feta burger.

Dinner: Quorn tikka masala with cauliflower rice.

Snacks: A lot of coffee, cuppa soups.

How are you Pom and Green?

Racheyg · 08/01/2020 08:23

Morning everyone,

Sorry to hear ds2 isn't sleeping, do you and dh take it in turns?? Is he ok at school or does he get really tired?

Your dh way of cooking cauliflower sounds delish. I would like to try to lightly coat mine so it's kind of battered but I'll have to lose a ton of weight first 😂

green & pom how are you both?

My spin class was cancelled last night so did my own hitt work out. I also smacked on stuff of plan 😳🙈 hope I haven't done too much damage. I blame the awful breakfast I had.

Meal plan today
Breakfast - home made granola with Greek yogurt
Snack - trail mix
Lunch - Tofu Thai red curry
Snack - fruit
Dinner - edamame pasta with tender steak and home made almond pesto

Have a great day everyone

Pomegranatepompom · 08/01/2020 13:00

Hello motivated people.

I am starting properly today, I think I put on. about 6bs over Christmas/ I have more than 2 stone to lose (sigh).

Sorry to hear re lack of sleep, well documented that this makes you reach for carbs... wish I had advice, DD is still a pretty poor sleeper too. Sometimes she wakes me for a chat !!!

Racheyg · 09/01/2020 18:10

Hi pom 👋

Great to hear from you. Did you have a good Christmas?

6lbs isn't that bad, you'll have it gone soon.

I need to be motivated I have a few holidays in the summer that I need to look good for

Pomegranatepompom · 09/01/2020 19:54

6lbs + what I already had to lose Blush

Racheyg · 09/01/2020 21:45

Sorry pom I read on the run. I didn't see the addition 😢

Pomegranatepompom · 10/01/2020 13:36

Rachey - I am sure we can do it ! Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/01/2020 07:44

Hi Pom, great to see you back. Did you have a good Christmas?

Rachey you are doing brilliantly, I don’t think think a few snacks will have done too much damage.

I have to be honest, I completely fell off plan by Thursday, the carbs got me. DS slept for the first time last night so I feel a good bit better today so I’ll be trying to pull it back and eat healthier, I ordered a massive Indian takeaway but couldn’t eat it last night because I was so wrecked.

DH and I try to split the nights when DS2 is awake, but DH does quite a bit of driving down the country for his job so I don’t like him setting off for 4 hours driving if he’s been up all night. I work locally and I can walk to work so it’s not as bad for me. But at the weekends DH pitches in and we both get lie ins, otherwise I would be unable to function.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/01/2020 07:46

My menu:
Lunch: Tarka dhal cauliflower rice
Dinner: Saag paneer with naan bread.

I have to eat all my food ordered yesterday 🙈

OP posts:
Racheyg · 11/01/2020 15:08

pom yes we can. Although I did fall off plan yesterday and ate chips and a bread roll. But I'm back on it today.

What are your plans this weekend? I have to say we aren't doing much. Christmas was so busy and spent so much money that I want to take it easy and try to avoid spending.

sol well done for getting back on it. Your meal plan sounds good I'm hungry just trying to work out what to have.

Racheyg · 12/01/2020 17:55

Shit. I've fallen off the wagon. 😢

Racheyg · 13/01/2020 09:32

Morning all,

After going completely off track at the weekend I'm back on it.

Breakfast : yogurt and Granola
Snack : trail mix
Lunch : tofu Thai red curry
Snack : fruit
Dinner??

I'm hoping to exercise tonight after work as well.

How was everyone's weekend? Another chill weekend for us.
Went to the park yesterday, as it was such a nice day. I love seeing the boys climb about. Shame my eldest hasn't got the confidence up high though. Bloody hate the swings though. Ds1 needs a push to start but is ok. Dc2 still prefers the toddler seats.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/01/2020 07:03

Morning. I’m still struggling to stay on plan but overall I think I’m doing ok. I put on 5lbs in the last few weeks though and I’m so bloated. I had to wear my fat jeans as none of my other ones were comfortable. It mad me so annoyed at myself so hopefully I’ll stop messing about now.

Rachey we are the same as you, broke since Christmas. We’ve been doing a lot of walks, playgrounds and generally free stuff trying to get the kids to burn off some energy.

Your meal plan sounds lovely. Do you batch cook? I need to get back in to that. We have hardly any freezer space so I need to work on clearing out the freezer and refilling it with healthy stuff.

Can anyone recommend any YouTube exercise videos that are about 15-20 mins long? I think I need to start moving more.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 14/01/2020 09:26

I’m not doing well, might do lighter life bars for a few days to have a quick start.

Back later

Greenrabbit · 14/01/2020 09:50

Morning.
I keep meaning to post but I haven’t got anything interesting to say!
I counted calories last week but didn’t see my weight go down. Then ate too much rubbish at the weekend.
I started the new WW plan yesterday, it seems quite good (there are 3 different eating plans now).
I’ve so much to lose, it’s going to take ages. But I need to get back into good habits so I just need to plod on.

It sounds like you are doing really well Sol. We are also clearing our freezer!

Your food is lovely Rachey.

Greenrabbit · 14/01/2020 09:50

www.you.co.uk/wagamama-bang-bang-cauliflower-recipe/

Is this the cauliflower meal you like Rachey?

Racheyg · 15/01/2020 08:17

green great to hear from you. Yes that's the one. It's delicious 🤤

Are you going to the Ww meetings? From what I've heard they have changed it a lifestyle choice rather than diet??

sol I try to batch cook as much as possible but it gets frustrating spending so much time in the kitchen. I do make a ton of the granola and trail mix, which I keep In kilner jars. Tbh the food goes quite quick as dh also doing the diet. If you want I'm more than happy to forward you the plan, but it's not a good diet to follow if your cal counting as I think it's quite high in calories.

Regarding videos on you tube I don't use them but dh does. The body coach does some really good ones which only last 25/30 minutes.

Dh is doing really well at this diet and he is not going off plan. I'm really proud of him cause I'm not.

Your dh did well last year dieting didn't he sol?

pom sorry to hear your struggling, I gave loads of Exante if your interested? I'm not going to use it before it expires.

I had parents evening yesterday.......some of the kids were giving me a run down of how naughty my ds1 was, the parents just sat there?!?!?! I was like if that was my dc I wound just quietly take them away and say it's not good to speak badly about people?!?!? Even if it is true!!!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 15/01/2020 09:16

That’s great that your DH is doing the plan too Rachey, it’s nice to to have support. My DH did the Body Coach diet last year and he lost tons of weight but has put some back on so he’s trying to get back on it.

Good luck with WW Green, I have nothing interesting to say either, it doesn’t stop me posting though 😂

I’ve lost 2 lbs so far this week. It’s painfully slow, I want 10 gone, I’m so fat and irrational. I’m so sick of this weight.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 15/01/2020 11:14

Hi Rachey. I’m just doing WW online. Yes they’ve rebranded and I think it’s supposed to be more about wellness now? I was more interested in the change in the eating plans to be honest!
I feel like I’m getting back into a better routine with cooking and eating meals that aren’t just toast!

I’d definitely tell my children to stop if they did that. They sound rude.
How did the parents evening go?

We are still going through the assessment process for DD2. The last report said that she’s very likely to have ASD. We are seeing the paediatrician next month so hopefully we will have a final diagnosis then.
It’s been pretty stressful. School have been great.
She has some strange behaviour at times and I wouldn’t appreciate a run down of it from other 6/7 year olds 😂.

2lb is great Sol. It’s only Wednesday!
I know what you mean about wanting the weight gone. I’m extremely overweight now. I’ve kind of accepted that it’s going to be slow and take awhile.
I’d love a 10lb loss this week though, it is more motivating.

Pomegranatepompom · 16/01/2020 21:38

OMG @racheyg - that's incredibly rude of the children and parents.

Well done on your 2lbs @sol and I hope everyone loses 10lb!

I might do lighter life for 4 days - purchased the bars, was supposed to start to today but couldn't get motivated. Thanks for the exante offer, I find them worse than lighter life - funny aftertaste??

Hope all goes well with paeds Green.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 17/01/2020 06:04

I haven’t stuck to plan at all. I’m just all over the place. No time to get organised and no motivation either. I might try again on sunday as I’m out for dinner tomorrow.

I constantly get a run down of DS2’s behaviour from annoying kids are his school Rachey, my most petty response was “I’d rather DS2 be a bit of a silly goose than a whining tattle tale”. Not my finest moment but kids like that give me the rage.

The ASD diagnosis pathway can be so stressful Green, but I found it nearly a relief when it was all over and we could move on with parenting DS2 and making adjustments for him.

If you start on Sunday Pom, so will I. We can starve together.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 17/01/2020 08:50

Thanks for your kind words.

I know ds1 is different and unique. He doesn't conform or fall into a box like the other kids at his school. Me and Dh are positive there is something there but unsure whether to go through tests etc. If us and the school know how to handle him, then I'm happy. The other kids can fuck right off!!!

green slow and steady wins the race. I can't even count how many times I've lost a stone in a week to only put 2 stone a month later back on. Your mindset and mentality will get you there.

I'm glad there is light at the end of the tunnel for dd2, it seems like such a long process I'm sure it's emotionally and mentally draining?? At least the school are supportive

sol I haven't stuck to plan either I'm all over the place mentally.

pom I agree the Exante stuff tastes of chemicals I have about £100 of the stuff knocking about at home but I'd rather be fat than eat it 😂 I know some that love it?!?

I'm off for a 5 hour meeting today. Wish me luck xx

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/01/2020 05:48

I hope you’re meeting went well Rachey. Having been through the hell that is getting an ASD diagnosis, the only advice I will give is this - it makes school easier to deal with. While they might be able to handle your DS now, when he moves to secondary school (not sure what it’s called in the UK) they won’t have structures in place to support him from day one. The transition can be so unsettling that most kids struggle but to have supports there will make a huge difference.

Anyway, I’ll say no more because you are probably sick of hearing everyone’s opinion.

I cannot get my shit together. I’m gradually regaining all the bloody weight I lost and I feel rubbish. However, exercise is about to become part of my daily life because we are a one car family now so I will have to walk to and from work every day. I’m hoping that will help as I will have less time to eat and will be burning calories.

I don’t know what’s happened, I have lost all my will power. I’m going away in 2 weeks for a weekend and the dress I bought to fit in to won’t even close. It’s very disheartening. I’ve got myself in to some very bad habits.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 19/01/2020 09:47

@SolitudeSometimesIs yes let’s start tomorrow. We need a kick start.
Will catch up with thread later
