I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Can I change my times daily as long as it's a 6hour window? I hope so.

Today I'm planning 12-6
Breakfast - big fruit salad (mango, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries)
Lunch - tuna mayo salad
Dinner - cuppa soup

Off to the gym tonight, I don't normally do Mondays but I missed Saturday and Sunday even though I did go swimming both days.

I'm in a size 10 skirt and it's super super tight. Which I'm hoping means I won't eat too much as there is no bloody room 😂

Did my first day yesterday- was ok although really felt like a snack while watching line of duty !!

Racheyg · 08/04/2019 13:08

How many cals do you aim for in a day?
I've added mine to mfp and I'm coming in at 500 cals

Racheyg · 08/04/2019 13:18

Cheese and crackers 300
Apple, satsuma, nuts - maximum 300.

Yesterday
Tuna salad with breadsticks and hummus ? 500
Roast chicken/ roast veg 400?
Nuts 200

Racheyg · 08/04/2019 20:06

Evening all,

hands well done on your loss. Sounds like this is really working for you.

pom argh I love cheese and crackers, I'm salivating at the thought 😁

green & sol how are you both getting on?

I didn't make it to the gym, I worked late and I wouldn't have got to my spin class in time. Oh well I'll make tomorrow's.

My day went like this:
Mango and mixed berries - 250 cals
Small tin of tuna, light mayo (2table spoons) sweet corn (2 table spoons) and salad - 300 cals
Minestrone cup a soup - 86 cals
3 corn thins - 75 cals

I'm about to have a fruit tea.

I've lost my house keys......I haven't had them all weekend. It's really frustrating me. Not sure whether I left them at school after pick up, as I had a talk with ds1 teacher. I really dislike her, I know ds1 can be tough but she never has anything positive to say about him. All I get is bad feedback. She never comes up with a solution, just he needs to make better choices. It's a load of crap. Not every child is a robot arghhhhh sorry I'm getting myself really angry just thing about her 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Racheyg · 08/04/2019 20:06

Have a great evening everyone x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/04/2019 06:01

Hi.

Welcome HandsOff, fasting sounds great. I might give it a go when the kids are off school next week. If I get in to the swing of it then it might be easier to apply when I’m back at work (I have term time holidays so I’m off too)

I’ve been fairly good at sticking to my cals and I’ve started walking a bit more on my lunch break. I’ve dripped from a size 18 to a size 16, I feel so happy. It took me losing 14 lbs to do that.

Rachey I can’t believe you did so much exercise on JD, you are amazing! And Pom is right, you’ll be in the 10’s next week and it will all be worth it.

Well done on not snacking Pom, that’s the biggest challenge. I need some of your willpower.

Green how are you?

I’m hoping for a day of good food choices. I have to get the kids to make their hats for the Easter parade on Friday, I foresee arguing and tears - and that will just be me.

Rachey I’m sorry you had a bad meeting with your child’s teacher. That’s terrible that she couldn’t find one positive thing to say. Have you mentioned to her that she goes for the negative every time? Sometimes it can be an eye opener for them.

DS1 has a teacher like that previously and I ended up telling him that if my son wasn’t paying attention in his class then he was doing something wrong as a teacher because DS1 had no issue in other classes. I know that makes me sound obnoxious but he was a terrible teacher and it was easier to blame the kids rather than himself.

Morning everyone.
Obviously I haven’t been doing at all well with any sort of dieting (as always).
I just feel like a chaotic mess at the moment. House is a tip. None of my clothes fit. I’m just concentrating on keeping the children clean, happy, healthy and entertained.

Sol a stone is amazing. Your holiday sounded great. I’m seriously impressed at your willpower. I’d be stuffing cheese into my face like there was no tomorrow! (Although you don’t eat much cheese do you?)
Enjoy your bonnet making. I’ve hid the Easter crafts for now. I was sick of DD2 going on about painting eggs last night. I just can’t face the mess at the moment. Luckily my Mam is going to do bonnets with them!

Rachey I hope you find your keys. I’m guessing school is closed for Easter?
Sorry to hear about the rubbish teacher. That must be the discipline system they use at DDs school (they start each day on ‘Ready to learn’ and move up or down?).
It’s supposed to be a positive system. The teacher should be discussing the choices DS could have made with him.
He has an ASD diagnosis doesn’t he? What are school doing about that?
I’m waiting for an appointment for DD2, but school are being great with her and she is having regular sensory breaks which help.
Well done on still dieting though. It’s difficult when you’re stressed.

Pom you’re so good too. You’re all putting me to shame.
Have a good day today.

Welcome Handsoff brilliant weight loss.

Pomegranatepompom · 09/04/2019 12:03

Well done on your 2lbs Handsoff

Sol amazing work on the size 16. You must be so pleased, a stone is really good progress. Hope the Easter crafting goes better than anticipate Smile

Rachey well done on you Monday, hope you have found your keys. DD teacher was quite negative @ parents evening. I asked to meet with her again, she was more positive but I left the meeting with the impression it was the teachers problem and not DD. Some of the things she said were bizarre, she gave us am amazing gem at last parents evening, had we noticed DD was left handed?!! Er, well....
I'd pull her up on it, it's vv wrong to be so negative. He's 5?? She need to help him make better choices (if he does need to). Sol is correct, when I asked to see DD teacher again, she was surprised, I made sure I was very calm although inwardly livid.

Green You are so busy and your focus is correct. Be as healthy as you can and don't be hard on yourself. Shall we do our 800 cal thing we did before holiday once DC back at school?

I lost a lb this week. So slow !!!

Racheyg · 09/04/2019 20:40

Evening all,

sol well done, that is an amazing achievement. A whole dress size, I bet you look great. We didn't bother with Easter bonnets this year 😳

thanks for your kind words. I've never clicked with her. She tried to make me feel better by saying her ds is similar but tbh I don't care about her ds she needs to work out a strategies on how she is going to encourage my ds.

green that is such a good attitude to have I wish I had it, I'm for ever beating myself up. Good old mum doing the bonnets, we did decorate eggs on Saturday which the boys loved.

No, ds1 didn't get a diagnosis they said he was fine. I still thing something is quite right but tbh we know how to deal with him at home so I don't think it will matter to us if there was anything. It might make the school understand him more!

I'm glad the school are fully supportive with dd2 it really helps when people understand.

pom I did call her out, she looked really taken back. I said I was totally fed up with constant bad feedback. Then all she keep highlighting was his hand writing and how it was keeping home back. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I feel the school are all about ticking boxes and getting numbers. Kids have personalities. I'm just worried that they will stop trying with him or discourage him so much that he starts hating school. He was in tears on Friday.

hands hows your day been?

Thanks for your all for your kind words, it really helps hearing your experiences and makes me feel less alone and not such a failing mum.

I think I came in at 1000 cals today. Not great but kept within my 6 hour window.

Did body pump before my spin class, I'm dead. I have zero strength can't wait for a shower then bed.

Sorry for the huge off load xx

Racheyg · 09/04/2019 20:58

I had the most amazing salad from M&S for lunch.

It was a chicken salad with spinach, picketed veg and pea and hoummus dip. Sounds strange but there were hardly any carbs cals were low and there was lots of flavour. Makes a change for a ready meal salad as they usually have a tone of fats and carbs to give flavour

Racheyg · 09/04/2019 20:59

This was one for the eggs we decorated. I know not very eastery but they wanted a egg that looked just like them 😂

Thanks hands. Quick question how do you do intermittent fasting if your going out? I'll try and hold out as much as possible today but I'm not sure I'll manage a 6 hr window. I last ate at 16.30 yesterday so I'll probably manage till 11.00/12.00

Rachey my older some handwriting can be scrawly and ranges in size from minute to gigantic in one sentence. So we bought him a triangular pencil which helped with grip, it’s a bit wider than normal pencils and we got him fine point pens to work with too as they made his writing clearer.

For his teacher to say his handwriting his holding him back at 5 is ridiculous. What does she expect from him? Some people are just messy writers, look at every GP.

I’ve stopped snacking in the evening. I’m trying to make small changes so I don’t end up in a heap before I try intermittent fasting.

Green you sound like you have the right attitude, there’s more to life than dieting. And kids are only small for such a short amount of time.

Pom well done on your pound loss.

HandsOff do you drink on your nights off? I love a glass of wine at the weekend and really don’t want to give it up.
