Right, this year I'm actually going to do it. 4.5 stone to lose

I've weighed myself and am almost 15 stone at 5' 5. My ideal weight is 10 1/2 stone.

So to get to my ideal weight by next Christmas I need to lose 6lb per month.

I'm giving myself time to ease into it but the plan from tomorrow is -

16:8 fast. This will work well as I'm visiting family and they constantly try to feed us but we can plan visits around eating times!

Increase my steps so I'm walking 15 miles + per week. I don't drive so it means less short bus journeys. Put the money I'd spend on busfare in a little jar to buy lovely beauty treats.

Print out a list of goals and associated treats making sure I link them to inch loss and fitness too, not just the scales. Hopefully this will keep me nicely motivated.

Dry January

From Jan 2nd low carb and lots of water. Follow the bootcamp principles.

Meal prep each weekend so we have handy microwave meals which are healthy.

Anyone fancy joining me?

Ruby, go make the list. You know you want to. If you do it then you can treat yourself to a nice new pen especially for list making (mine is a turquoise lamy and no I'm not kidding. I have a list making pen. I love pens.)

Welcome Rosemary. We are going to do this this year. Because we deserve to be our best selves.

Very good day today. Fruit seeds and yogurt for breakfast, corned beef, salad and fruit this afternoon and trout with green beans for tea.

12000 steps so far and still have the dog to walk.

Well done glen Smile
I have a pink Lamy list writing pen and a black Lamy diary entry one haha it's almost a fetish.

What went well... Today I did well with my Greek yogurt and mandarin for breakfast, 3 cups of tea, packed lunch of smoked salmon and avocado salad and then veg spring rolls tonight.

What could be better.... Steps didn't go well so need to make sure I get out and walk tomorrow. Also need to bring lots of water to work as hardly had any today. Spring rolls were a bit of a last minute nothing prepared so need to prep dinner. DH had leftover roast lamb so I didn't want that.

Day by day, it's a straight line.........

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 14/01/2019 20:13

Ruby I'm the same! I also love a list but this one is difficult!

I've just been on Pinterest and found some inspiration from ketogenic diet meal prep.

glenthebattleostrich · 15/01/2019 07:51

Rosemary, BIWIs bootcamp started yesterday. That's a low carb way of eating (I follow the bootcamp light)

It's bloody hard to get into low carb but when you do it's amazing. Really satisfying and filling. I love it. But also love bloody crisps :(. And wine. And gin.

Now tell me more of this lovely stationary...

I'm not great with Pinterest or Instagram - tend to look at them once in a blue moon - was it helpful though Rosemary?

The list is still not made properly, but the fridge is cleared out and I've made two meals in advance (burning my finger on one of them - who says virtue has its own reward?!). However, the DC & I will be having pizza for lunch as I've spent all morning cleaning the kitchen and can't face the thought of getting it messy again straight away!

I wish we had a lovely stationery shop in my town - although probably better for my bank balance that we don't! - I want to look at a bullet journal to see if it's something I'd use. We only have a small WH Smith unfortunately, but I'll have a look in anyway next time I'm passing.

How does the bootcamp light work glen? I agree, low carb is hard to get into but great once you're 'in the zone'. Probably not going to work for me this time though with one DC who scoffs pasta like there's no tomorrow!

RosemaryTelephoneOperator · 15/01/2019 22:33

Yes it was kind of helpful but I could write the books myself. What is wrong with me? I was good all day toast for breakfast then soup and a plain roll... then got home and made savoury rice sweetcorn and chicken drumsticks with Nando's rub in sauce... 3 drumsticks for me!, Then I sat and watched Brexit and I was home alone so decided to seek out the only remaining alcohol in the house leftover from Christmas. 2 cans of fruit kopperberg cider .. bleuuurgh..... why?... in bed now. Tomorrow is another day.

aurorie11 · 16/01/2019 21:19

@rosemarytelephoneoperator I know what you mean, stick to your plans during the day and then evening it comes undone. Is there something you can do to avoid it, I try and sit in a bath and read to distract myself. One day at a time

RubySlippers77 · 16/01/2019 23:53

How has today been Rosemary? My evenings are usually full of tidying up after the DC, but it does mean that I get hungry again and need a snack before bedtime Sad

DP 'helpfully' decided to mend a chair after dinner, despite this being the most awkward time to do it. It also rendered him mysteriously blind to the DC squashing cheese straws into the sofa next to him Angry and got DTS2 so worked up that he wouldn't go to bed for ages. One day, one day, both DC will be in bed and fast asleep by 8pm, and I will have a WHOLE EVENING to myself for meal prepping and list making.....

Honeyroar · 18/01/2019 21:04

Hello ladies, would you mind if I joined you? I've got a good few stones to lose. I've been doing no processed sugar for a week and a half and lost a couple of lbs. I did it a couple of years ago and lost two stones and two dress sizes, but fell off the wagon when my mum was in and out of hospital, then my husband was. My plan is to stay on track even if life chucks lemons at me. I've got some tough times to get through soon, I don't want to add feeling fat and fed up to it!

aurorie11 · 18/01/2019 22:03

Welcome Honey. Mine similar story to you lost 3 stone put all but 3lbs back on when things went pear shaped with elderly parents. I’m 2 weeks back in, like you need to stay on track

Honeyroar · 18/01/2019 22:36

Thanks. Fingers crossed for us both.

RubySlippers77 · 18/01/2019 22:53

Hi Honey

I've baked low fat snacks for the weekend and have enough food to get through too, just need more potatoes as DTS2 loves them!

I'm really trying to cut down on how much I eat, don't think I do enough exercise (well obviously not, as I've put on a stone since this time last year!) plus am trying to make some better food choices. If all else fails I will go back to fat club, or WW as they're known in their new incarnation.....

aurorie11 · 19/01/2019 11:13

Week 2 weigh in
Start point 13-11
Week 1 13-6
Week 2 13-3

8lbs in two weeks. Have massively increased activity and been careful with food this week. Hoping for another 3lbs loss next week and then settle down to 1-2lbs per week

glenthebattleostrich · 19/01/2019 15:37

Welcome honey and well done aurorie.

Not the best week. I've stayed fairly low carb but not done great. Still no booze and not enough water.

3lb down so far.

This week I need to increase exercise and cut back on carbs. And up water. Really need to increase water. It's just so cold and the hot tea is so satisfying.

If you haven't already, take your measurements. I do bust, waist, hips, arms and thighs. Sometimes you lose inches quicker than weight, and it keeps your morale up on the weeks that you've not lost.

RubySlippers77 · 19/01/2019 21:27

Well done aurorie and glen!

I need to just cut food really glen Grin but yes, probably more water. I do drink plenty - but could do more. DTS1 is a thirsty little thing, he gets it from me I reckon.

Need to crack on with some batch cooking but can't find the energy. It was a very early morning with energetic children and I'd rather be in bed.....

Honeyroar · 25/01/2019 01:40

Hi, how are you all doing?

DizzyBeeme · 25/01/2019 16:52

I'm feeling rubbish. I joined slimming world last week and gained 4 llbs 😂😂.

I go to the gym every day for an hour and try to eat healthily. I'm thinking of precookkng some boneless chicken so I can just warm it up and have it with salad for lunch and then cooking a healthy evening meal. I'm also going to boil eggs and put them in the fridge so eat as a snack and get some healthy hoummous to eat with cucumber sticks. I'm fed up!! I need to lose 3 stones !!

aurorie11 · 26/01/2019 08:12

Week 3 now 13 0.5lbs, 2.5 lbs down, 11.5 since 2/1
Aim for next week 12 something, but tough week as meal out with a group tonight, and 3 days at a residential course next week

Honeyroar · 28/01/2019 22:10

Oh Dizzy, that's pants. Hopefully it will come off this week, it doesn't always shift at the right time. Fingers crossed.

Aurorie you're going great guns! Well done.

I'm three weeks in to no sugar/processed food. I've lost 3lbs, but my work skirt is distinctly looser, so I'm still feeling positive. I did this two years ago and it was a steady lb a week. Doesn't sound a lot, but that's 52lbs in a year... I lost a lot of inches too.

aurorie11 · 09/02/2019 22:26

Has everyone dropped out?

5 weeks in 15lbs down

Honeyroar · 10/02/2019 20:22

Hi, I'm still here. Only lost 6lbs in 5 weeks, but can feel the waist coming back and I'm still happily plodding on.

You're doing really well. I thought everyone had faded away on here, nice to know it's not so.

aurorie11 · 10/02/2019 20:29

Honeyroar it’s not a race. I’m also posting on another thread as it’s a bit quiet here x

Honeyroar · 10/02/2019 20:35

Which thread are you on? All the ones I seem to join fizzle out and I just need some weight loss companions.

aurorie11 · 11/02/2019 11:33
