Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

ya! a new thread!

yeah might have to take some immodium or somthig if it carries on

gibberish · 03/07/2007 20:39

Spooky, what great pics! Very inspiring, well done!

Wombat,it's such a shame you have to give up. Did you counsellor not suggest anything that might help? Could you not replace at least some of your meals?

snow, I was really worried before I started too. But the thought of it is much worse than actually doing it, honestly!

Well got weighed. Despite having only been on it for about 3 full days this week, still lost 5lbs!! Very pleased. Lost an amazing 3inches of my waist and 1.5 off each arm! Really really pleased. Now that all the corporate entertaining and visitors have finished, can really knuckle down and get into it. Def into ketosis as have very odd taste in mouth. How long does that last?

gibberish · 03/07/2007 20:40

'off' my waist obv. Grr must remember to flamin preview.

CayKon · 04/07/2007 08:21

I lost another 5 lbs this week grand total of 2.5 stone

gibberish · 04/07/2007 09:35

Well done CayKon How long has that taken?

CayKon · 04/07/2007 10:26

its taken 12 weeks but 10 of those were with slimming world. lost 9lbs over 2 weeks with cd. I didn't get the big 1st week loss like many others as I had already got rid of the water etc ( which is predominantly what you loose in week) doing SW.
Very happy with my progress so far now weigh 12.8 and want to get to around 10st so half way there.

MunkiBaby · 04/07/2007 11:51

ginger, i too have the same issue...and i dont eat the bars. so i dont think they are they issue.
i suspect that its just the way of the diet, you could go one way or the other from what i've heard
on minimins. its not pleasant. it was really bad in the first week. then it stabled out. and now again
its back. i only drink about 3-4 L water a day. not too much. but i do have to take immodium, like snow
suggested.

Snow, i went off the soups after the first week!! and then this last visit withh the cdc, i took what i thought
would be the only edible soup after trying them all, tomato...so i had one last night and gross,,,
its official...i cant have them again! blech!

((that reminds me, must calll cdc to have them swapped out for something sweet)))

Also, Snow, as far as making them up...i would strongly suggest when you make them cold, use ice..maybe 6 cubes and then
fill the beaker to about 14-16 ounces water...add the packet and blend.

and if you like the cappuccino, try adding a teaspoon or two of instant coffee! i sometimes have it in the morning so i still
can get my coffee kick. and it adds to the flavouring. word to the wise about that though, when you make it up,
do it in this order to avoid gritty bits at the bottom: cold or hot water (with or without ice), coffee, stir well, add powder...
and blend.

if you go to minimins.com, you will find a full page of recipes to try with your powder packets.
i havent tried any yet because i'm so afraid of it not turning out and wasting a packet.
((i think i'm at that stage to try the muffin recipe or crisps method because im desperate
for solid food...))

Gibberish, well done so far!! im looking forward to your first weigh in!!

Caykon - well done to you as well!!!! i cant wait to get to 2.5 stone!! ((errr, off, that is!))

Munkibaby are you still holding out?? Thanks for all those tips, they are really helpful.

BTW I lost 5lbs which I was really pleased about as had had loads of meals out (very bad week to start). On it with a vengeance now with no distractions or temptations.

I mixed Forest Fruits shake with Chocolate this morning - yummmmm! I'm fortunate in that I like most of the sweet shakes and pretty much all of the soups. Haven't tried the cheese one though - it sounds vile.. it must be nigh on impossible to stick to it if you can't stand a lot of the products. My sympathies are with you.

gingernutlover · 04/07/2007 20:56

well, the upset tum seems to have gone for now, nt liking the bars at all - only got 1 more to chomp through though so not so bad. Soups are also making me feel sick so have luckily swapped with dh for some of his shakes, he likes the soups.

weirdly dont feel hungry but do fancy food - hmm things like cheese on toast or jacket potatoes.

am terrified of add a meal week though, what if i eat and cant stop, still its a couple of weeks away yet so will worry about that when the time comes

dont think i will lose this week - scales just not budging, but am guessing after the initial 10 lbs maybe I wont lose this week, what did everyone else do the 2nd week.

anyway, moan and rant over - will go back to my scale watching and water drinking.

CayKon · 05/07/2007 09:48

The only bars I like are the cranberry, orange and the peanut. I like the chicken soup but am getting very bored of it now as I have it everyday.

I might try mixing some of the shakes together to make new flavors quite fancy choc and banana lol.

My add a meal week is only 1.5 weeks away, but my cdc said I don't have to do it if I don't want. I can just stay on ss. She said she never did add a meal and her weight loss wasn't affected so not sure what to do.

I never get hungry anymore, I do miss the social aspect of sitting with the family for dinner, but having loads of fun cooking meals for them and done loads of baking this last week, my family is loving it.

my house is also spotless I ahve loads of energy and can't sit still, the weathers been so bad so I've just been spring cleaning the house.

Well off to sterilise bottles and find something else to tidy up

gingernutlover · 06/07/2007 16:22

good luck with mixing the flavours caykon I am getting the courage to try cooking one of the packs - although worried that if it goes wrong i will be very hungry as dont have spares.

I am still feeling hungry - but hopoing this will pass soon, am due for the nest weigh in on monday which will be more like 9 days than a week so am hoping for a reasonable loss. DH finding it bvery hard going esp as he lost less than me and the scales dont seem to be budging much this week either - i am wondering whether he is more mjuscly than me and thats why ie not so much actual fat to burn up?!?!??!

march29 · 06/07/2007 18:35

guysi have totally given up this week!! i just cant stop picking at food. i am thinking of not having one of the shakes to make up for it but am not sure it will make any difference.

gingernutlover · 07/07/2007 12:02

march 29 i think you are meant to have the shakes for the vitamins and minerals at least - just write this week off as a bad one and start again - easier than it sounds i am sure, but it will be worth it.

My wiegh in isnt until monday but I have lost 4 lbs this week which seems a little dissapointing after the 10lbs loss of the week before.

march29 · 07/07/2007 15:47

the other thing is that even my scales are wonky. they didn't move atall last week when i lost 6lbs and they aren't moving this week either. i am not holding out for a big loss atall. i get weighed on monday aswell in the evening.

hercules1 · 08/07/2007 14:10

I have now finished with this diet. I have lost 31/2 stone in less than 4 months, gone throuhg the steps to now eating normally at my target weight of 10 stone

march29 · 08/07/2007 15:48

well done hercules1. it must feel great. i don't see myself getting to that stage yet but i am holding on to hope.

gingernutlover · 08/07/2007 19:33

well done hercules, that is fantastic and just the kind of inspiration I need at the moment. I am honestly not hungry anymore - never thought that would happen to me but really want to eat but must keep going

thank you for posting about your wieght loss as it is about the same as I have to lose and about the same target.

When you say you are eating normally, can i ask, are you having any cambridge poducts at all? And what does your daily menu look like on a typical day. Is is really as easy as eating 3 sensible meals a day and avoiding snacks?

hercules1 · 08/07/2007 19:56

Hi,
I have 8 tetras left but I am only going to use them if I feel I have to.

I have been upping my calorie intake recently to about 1500 a day and this consists of loads of food but healthy stuff e.g. salad. I am also having the occasional treat e.g. single twix once a day but keeping within 1500 or so.

I have been out for dinner now and ate well - not going for a fatty option but not choosing just salad. If I have a higher fat meal I then cut down on fatty stuff for the next couple of days to even it out.

gingernutlover · 08/07/2007 19:59

thanks hercules that sounds doable
i have decided to chuck out all clohtes that are too big - that way if the ones that fit me (when i get to goal) get a bit tight, it will be like a warning for me and hopefully any wieght gain that does happen will not get out of control

gingernutlover · 08/07/2007 19:59

gave away most of my size 18's today on freecycle

gingernutlover · 08/07/2007 20:05

sorry hercules, another Q. Did you begin on the steps once you had reached your goal? And how long did it take you to work through
them?

hercules1 · 09/07/2007 16:33

Once I'd reached bmi of 25 did 2 weeks of aam and then two weeks of 790 followed by 2 at 1000 and then 2 at 1200. Tbh for the second week of 1200 I'd had a naughty 2 days away and after that made up my own 1200 calorie days being very healthy but choosing my own food choices. I think I'd had enoguh of sticking to their suggestions especially as I am also a veggie and wanted more variety.

I still had a stone to go once I stopped ss but have have lost the rest through the steps.

I am now being good with the occasional treat and then making up for it the next day. I also chucked out all my old clothes too so that I will ahve to stick to my new size 12.

hercules1 · 09/07/2007 16:34

I love food especially cakes but I love more not being fat and being slim. AT the agew of 32 I look the better than I did in my twenties.
