Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

ya! a new thread!

have just had chat with dha nd shown him that excerpt about why no food on sole spources

we have come up with a plan - he can say he has an upset tummy and doesn't want to risk eating anything - perfect, just hope he goes through with it and doesn't give in

michaelad · 26/06/2007 20:07

Hiya, just back from my first meeting with my new counsellor since the old one ditched me so unceremoniously. Got my packs and it's back on the beloved SS tomorrow.. ..two and a bit stones to lose..can't be that hard...

yummymummy327 · 26/06/2007 20:12

Hey ladies!

Welcome Crazybeauty!

I have to admit I almost caved in last night, I had the biggest craving for a kebab with extra extra chilli sauce. BUT I didn't I had a glass of water (was still starving) but I beat it. I'm SO glad I didn't.

I went to see the CDC for my sachets and I've decided to switch to her as my cdc. She was brilliant and I felt really comfortable. I tell ya she went through more than my other cdc did and she seems like someone who will help me keep on track. I came home feeling all geared up again She also told me I should be drinking at least 3lt of water so I wasn't drinking enough

Hope everyone is doing good!!!

yummymummy327 · 26/06/2007 20:19

Hey there ginger didn't see your post well at least your dh will be sticking to his SS. Just them him to have his "meal" before hand. That way he might not be too hungry (fingers crossed for ya)

Michealad just think though 2.5 stones and your there! It's not too much left at all and you'll be admiring the new you just in time for summer

Dabbles · 26/06/2007 20:20

hey, day 9, feel like absolute shite today!

so exhauted, no enrgy... am wodneirng if its cos i have added bars? anyone else experience this??

yummymummy327 · 26/06/2007 20:27

Wish I could help but I was told you couldn't have bars until after your 2nd week into SS. I have to admit I felt the same until about 3 days ago maybe it's all toxins getting flushed out of our systems

aintnomountainhighenough · 26/06/2007 20:39

Hello everyone - can I join you please? I went to see my CDC today and was very impressed. I am starting slowly tomorrow and will be on 1000 cals until 20th July and then will do sole source. Strangely I am rather looking forward to this challenge, my mind and body seems tired of food.

Lastly well done to everyone with their weight loss - I look forward to joining you with my mates Mr Will and Mrs Power!

CayKon · 26/06/2007 20:40

my cdc lets you have bars from week 1????

I didn't have them though in the first week.

I had my first weigh in and lost 4lbs.

Still constipated though!!!!

hercules1 · 27/06/2007 08:02

You shoudlnt have vars until you've been ss for about two weeks. THey have a higher carb content and can affect ketosis if taken too soon.

gibberish · 27/06/2007 08:33

Morning ladies. Can I join you? Started this morning . A bit apprehensive and have no idea how it is going to go as have never done anything like this before. Have a stone and a half to two stone to lose. Had chocolate mint for breakfast. Yum

Caykon, I'm prone to constipation too and that's one of the things I'm a bit worried about but forgot to ask my counsellor (duh). I might phone her today.

Probably not a good week to start as we've got visitors all week plus I've got a corporate day out involving lunch and dinner on Friday but was so desperate to start I decided to go for it.

Incidentally, my counsellor is VERY overweight - I was a bit concerned about that too...

march29 · 27/06/2007 10:03

hi guys i am hoping to join you aswell. its day 2for me today.yestarday went ok for me but i really struggled with the water. i have trouble with water in anycase and found it hard to take more than 2.5 litres. will try harder today. i am really hoping for a big loss in week one. but the next month is going to be difficult as i have family gatherings everyweeken leading to my brothers wedding in the first week of august!!

michaelad · 27/06/2007 12:02

Hi Gibberish, welcome to the club..the first days are the toughest..and then it gets difficult again at the end of week 2 when the novelty of it has worn off but hopefully you will have lost enough weight by then to keep you motivated. I have my first day today (round two since I have been doing this for a while and was just on a break of sorts) and I really hope to get back into the swing of things so I can lose another stone or two.

michaelad · 27/06/2007 12:04

..oh and if my counsellor was overweight then I would find that somewhat strange too. Am surprised they let her be a counsellor if she's obviously "fallen off the wagon". Be cheeky and ask her when you have your weigh in!

Crazybeauty · 27/06/2007 14:33

My first day was not excellent. I was hanging in till dinner time but the beautiful fish and rice I made make me feel like eating and had a small portion of it. Hope today will be a better day

Oh the 30 day package is the one I bought from CD online store. I don't have a counciler and I am doing by my self . Thankyou all for the wonderful support

gibberish · 27/06/2007 16:46

Thanks michaelad. I was really wanting to ask her about her weight lol.. not sure whether I could be that cheeky though hehe.

First day has gone well - am feeling ok, not hungry atall amazingly. Family and friends who are staying this week are all having a huge takeaway tonight but I've already told them I won't be having any. So feeling quite pleased with myself so far...

Crazybeauty · 27/06/2007 21:16

Had Oats for Breakfast-Yum!!Yum, Chicken soup for lunch- Oh God I can't drink it Yaki.Planning to have tomato soup for dinner. What is your favourites Please let me know. I have a Can of chicken soup. It is 15 servings i don't know what to do with that.Looks like a waste of money

bigfatmummy · 27/06/2007 22:16

Hi

Crazybeauty - I'm guessing you're in the States so you're plan is not that familiar to us over here as I think you've got slightly different options. Good luck though and hope you find one you like.

Thought I'd put a message on as not been around for a while. Many new names posting on this link and good luck to you all. And well done to the old names and great to see everyone still doing so well.

I've been on this diet since April and so far have lost 4 stone 2 lbs plus 7 lbs which I lost with WW before - so a total of 4 stone 9lbs. I cannot believe how different I feel, not to mention how fantastic it is to now be wearing a size 16 jean and starting to think about a size 14. I can't remember the last time I was this weight and certainly never want to put it all back on again, that's for sure!!

I've still got about another 2 1/2 or 3 stone to go and I have to admit that at the moment I am finding it really hard going. I hope to carry on for as long as I can though, and reading through all the messages on here is certainly motivating.

Anyway, keep going everyone and well done. I'll try and post a bit more often now!

CayKon · 28/06/2007 08:16

bigfatmummy - looks like your name isn't really a very fitting description of you any more {wink}

Keep up the good work

Good luck to everyone just starting out as well

snowwonder · 28/06/2007 15:40

big mummy

you have lost that weight since april 2007??????????

maybe i have this wrong but that is some going, weel done you.....

what was your starting weight?

i need some encouragement to start this diet once and for all

michaelad · 28/06/2007 17:06

Aarrgh..only day 2 of my second round of CD and I have already caved in and had some toast!! Why is it so bloody hard to get back on the wagon??!! I was doing so well first time round..and now..

Crazybeauty · 28/06/2007 17:17

Yes I am in US and mine looks different. When I bought 30 day package I choose 3 types of soup tomato, chicken & Mushroom. Then I have strawberry shake & OATS. Tomato soup is also OK. Never tried Mushroom soup.

Hello snowwonder, just hang in there, it is working. I am on my day 2 and I have lost 2lbs already

gibberish · 28/06/2007 18:30

bigfatmummy! That's amazing - what an inspiration! Thanks for posting your experience, it's really motivating.

Well day 2. I'm amazed at how NOT hungry I am! Thought I'd be lying in a useless, weak heap by now lol. Weighed myself this morning and to my absolute amazement was 4 and a half pounds lighter than yesterday morning So chuffed.

Going to be difficult tomorrow though as I am out on a works corporate day which involves a lunch and a dinner. Will try to stick to chicken and white veg if atall possible.

Don't like buterscotch. LOVE toffee & walnut!

gibberish · 28/06/2007 18:31

butterscotch obviously

bigfatmummy · 28/06/2007 20:28

Snowwonder - sorry, I made a mistake and it was March when I started not April! I was 17 stone 12 lbs at my very heaviest. I lost 7 lbs with WW and when I started CD in March I was 17 stone 5 lbs (and desperate!!!). I had very high weight losses for the first few weeks (but then I did have a HUGE amount to lose, but now 3lbs a week seems to be the norm (sometimes it can be a lb more or less). I think they say 3lbs a week is average, hence most people seem to lose about a stone a month. I wont lie and say the diet is easy, the first couple of weeks are VERY hard, but I think that so long as you go in aware of that, then you get through it. It does get easier after that because you're in established Ketosis and the good weight losses are motivating to carrying on. However, I do think that if I stop this diet I don't know that I would get back on it again - think it's a bit of an all or nothing with me! and I've been told that going through the maintenace programme at the end can be the most important thing to keeping the weight off.

If you're thinking of starting then try and pick a week where you haven't got any major events/temptations to distract from the diet - once you get used to it, it almost becomes a way of life.

Good luck

(ps, and go to the minimins website or look back on old threads on here for inspiration - when I need motivating or are trying to avoid temptation that was what helped me through the hard times, still does!

snowwonder · 28/06/2007 20:33

still a fantastic effort you must be so proud of yourself....

i have emailed a counseller and her next appt is tuesday evening...

i weigh about 15.7 stone and would like to be at least in the 12's!!

tp be honest i find i cheat on the ww diet, and i am thinking with this one i know i cant have anything to eat so wont cheat, i am a bit all or nothing..

you are doing great - what would you like to get to?
