Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

ya! a new thread!

okay, so i just went for my gym induction and i told the guy about the diet, mainly cos i thought i should start any exercise quite slowly ....

i have just had a huge lecture about the fact that ketosis is where muscle tissue and fat in muscles in burnt and he told me the 2 stone i have lost is mainly water and muscle, he seemed really unhappy about me doing anything at the gym and kept recommending i take a banana with me even though i explained several times why i wouldn't do this. anyway, the only way he would give a programme at all is that i said i was doing the diet for 2 more weeks and then doing low GI style healthy eating.

is any of what he said true?

also, feel a bit bad about lying, but i have 15 lbs to go til bmi 25 (my target) so actually intend to stay on the diet for about anothe 3.5 weeks until my holiday when i should be very close to that target - fingers crdssed.

the whole not eating thing had been really getting me down again lately and I had considered that when i cam back from hols i might not continue the diet but he has made me feel bad about it all - what to do next, have 2 weeks worth of diet left so will be using them up and i really really want to make sure i get somthing out of all this and not end up the fat blob i was a couple of months back

i have to go and see him again in 2.5 weeks when he thinks i will have finished the diet.

Fussy, I still have about 2 stone to shift and find it absolutely impossible to get back on the wagon properly too. I've even looked into switching to WW

fussymummy · 02/08/2007 00:44

I know dieting is hard but i never expected to feel so addicted to food!
Just eating for the sake of it sometimes and don't even know why?
Also using it as comfort at times.
Every day i tell myself i'll restart today!
I have a shake or two and then eat too much as well.
I have to get through this but cannot get myself motivated!!
My CDC told me ages ago that she thought i'd make a good counsellor as there are only 2 in our area and shes got too many people on her books and had to turn people away.
Before i can do the job i need to lose the weight.
The job would be great to fit in with school hours as well.
All i need now is lots of determination and willpower!!!!

Wonder where i can buy that from??????

gingernutlover · 02/08/2007 07:26

fussy mummy you CAN do it, but no point until you are in right frame of mind, sorry cant remember how much you have lost so far but have you got any clothes that are too big for you? I look at my size 18 (large size too) and when i try them on now they fall down, even with the buttons done up, that is my motivation - to never wear those trousers ever again. Also, my ticker on cambridge dieters and minimims forums really helps and dh keeps a graph and spreadsheet for me of what i wiegh. All little things but they do help.

I did the CD for 10 days back in january and lost about 10lbs, have kicked myself ever since for not carrying on, i could be slinky malinky by now if i had only done it then, instead I am gonna still be overwieght by my holidays, IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT and the best thing i have ever done in my life.

Can you use some of these ideas as motivation to get you going maybe? Also the fact you could become a cdc, that is a brilliant motivational thought, you have to do the diet for a minimum amount of time i think before they let you train but there isn't a minimum wieght loss before you sign up so why dont you go for it and just think, doing it all for a job as well would really help, cos everyday you would be seeing success and you would be responsible for it.

fussymummy · 03/08/2007 14:23

Thankyou for the much needed support.

I had a day wearing an old pair of size 28 trousers that i was tripping over and pulling up all day!!! (I'm 22/24 now!!)
I looked like a clown!!!!
Only wore them indoors.

Had a day of cambridge yesterday except for bag maltesers in evening when i went to cinema with a friend.

So far today has been only cambridge!
Coming back on here has helped my frame of mind, so thankyou.

The thought of a job and helping others to succeed is what i need.

I started diet in january and i lost 3 stone in 3 months.
Then lost another 6lbs but then started to yo yo!!!
Have now lost about 2 and half stone.
I know thats still good loss but i have so much more to lose!!

SpookyMadMummy · 08/08/2007 20:56

Hi all
Well, I had to change my CDC as mine is no longer continuing
On the up side my new CDC has agreed to me going onto 790 as I am struggling to SS properly now. And I lost another 2 pounds taking my overall loss to 3 stones 3 pounds

gingernutlover · 10/08/2007 12:47

well done spookeymadmummy thats a fab loss, i have now lost 2 stone 5 lbs and have moved to 790 plan as i am 9lbs from a healthy bmi. I fit into a size 12 now in most shops so it is very tempting to leave it at that but i know i must introduce foods slowly esepcially bread and pasta etc as i dont want to pile on the pounds having just got rid.

Must admit, the ss had been so hard the last week or so , maybe it was my body telling me to move up a plan cos i definatly feel better on the 790, hjust hope i can get a little bit more weight off before hols in a week and a half.

ShrinkingViolet · 17/08/2007 09:44

Can I (re)join you here? I've been pretending to do Cambridge properly for a couple of months, but took a long hard look at myself (literally and figuratively) yesterday, and am now back on the wagon - Day 2 of SS and it's hell! Off to get weighed in a bit and see whether I'm still overweight, or if it's crept up to obese again .

SpookyMadMummy · 31/08/2007 09:53

I am 7lbs from goal now

nappyaddict · 31/08/2007 14:17

have just been having a look at this thread and im amazed at you all. quite tempted to join you!! but can you tell me what ss and aam is?

SpookyMadMummy · 31/08/2007 14:28

SS is sole source, the first stage of the diet which is the rapid weight loss phase.
AAM is Add a Meal. On every 5th week you must have in addition to your 3 cambridge units a day a small protein and green vegetable meal hth. Minimins is a fantastic site for loads of info on the diet and some of us post on there!

nappyaddict · 31/08/2007 15:24

so you only have a proper meal once every 5 weeks? i'm not sure i could cope with that!!

SpookyMadMummy · 31/08/2007 15:37

Takes a bit of getting used to but since I started on Cambridge in may I have lost 3 1/2 stones!

nappyaddict · 31/08/2007 16:00

if you are between 20 and 25 bmi you use it differently though don't you? i think you only replace one meal with the shakes. which would be easy for me cos i don't eat breakfast any way

SpookyMadMummy · 31/08/2007 16:39

Yes thats right. There are several steps each one gradually increasing the number of calories you have.

ginntonic · 31/08/2007 17:24

A friend of mine has been doing the Cambridge and has lost an amazing 20 stones! She had been housebound and had tried losing weight for years...somehow this diet has been the one to get her going and if she can do it then there is hope for everyone

SpookyMadMummy · 31/08/2007 19:21

Its a fantastic diet,if you have the determination to lose the weight! My motivation was not being able to look at myself in the mirror any more cos I was ashamed of myself. Now I can. Trying on clothes in shops is an option again rather than picking up the nearest sack with an elasticated waist!
When I started the diet I wore size 16 - 18 and sometimes a 20. Now size 12's are becoming loose!
