Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

ya! a new thread!

hi dabbles, my dh had a massive headache for about 3 days when we first did the canbridge diet - i had nothing except feeling a bit tired so am guessing this is normal, I know our councellor warned us of it before we started. I think with dh it was withdrawal from tea and cola as he drinks gallons of the stuff and refused to drink black tea or coffee so went from about 1litre of cola and 6 cups of tea a day to nothing but water and shakes!

its fine to take paracetomel or similiar, doesnt affect the diet from what i remember

gibberish · 18/06/2007 21:49

Hello ladies, looks like I'll be joining you! I've got just under 2 stone to lose, I know it's not a huge amount but I've already lost 2 stone and am REALLY struggling to get down to goal. I have an appt with the CDC next Tuesday. Wanted to start this week but she is booked up. She advised me to start drinking loads of water and cut down on carbs in readiness... wish I could start the CD now!

MunkiBaby · 19/06/2007 06:34

Sorry i havent replied or posted sooner, my sky broadband has been on the fritz. . no worries. all seems fine and dandy today.

Right...welcome all the new CD'ers! ((oh, and lipotrim person..oh, its dabbles! )) i will remember all this info someday, i swear!

I officially started CD yesterday. Naturally, i did feel hungry, tired, shakey, etc...but thats ok. Plus i was out of the house nearly all day in Llandudno with the MIL so i kept my mind off of it. today, i'll be home...so it will be a real test keeping out of the kitchen. last night, i felt odd. felt llike i needed to go for my late night munch and also the desire for texture in my mouth. this morning, i did what i told myself i probably wouldnt do, and i weighed myself after one day ((no i wont be making a habit of it...)) 4 down from yesterday.

i started at a whopping 16,11. the biggest i have EVER been, by far. ever. i'm taking on the diet one day at a time with the long distant thought that by xmas, i will be shopping for that cute little xmas party dress! ((something i've never felt i could do.)) of course, the real reason is to be healty and be around longer for my dh,ds, and any future children.

As far as flavours go, i started with Choc mint. and that was nice. i thin it weould be better if i blended it with chopped ice. then i had the choc brik since i was out of the house...and for dinner, vegetable soup. a bit grainy, but it was fine.

dabbles, keep us posted about how the lipotrim is going for you.

day one down and seem to have no side affects ( but i did prepare with the water and cutting tea cola and carbs out over the weekend) I'm not even feeling hungery.

Yesterday I had toffee and walnut warmed this was yummy, then the chicken and mushroom soup and this was also yummy, then the choclate shake which was yummy so been lucky so far and not found one I didn't like. But CDC gave me a selection of all the flavours except cappicino and butterscotch as I really didnt fanct those, so we will see how the other flavours are.

Off to have vanilla shake

Dabbles · 19/06/2007 08:59

Day2 - felt really 'warm' yestreday, strange cos ppl say u feel cold..c could hear tummy rumbling last night!

for brekkie having a vanilla shake mixed into a black coffee. is yummy!

good lluck everyone!

MunkiBaby · 19/06/2007 12:00

today, i also tried the toffee walnut...warmed. oh yum! my favourite so far. going to try spicy tomato for lunch...

but i'm holding out as long as i can because i dont want to have such a huge gap between lunch and dinner...

off to wee...AGAIN!

hope everyone is doing well today...

yay

phoned cdc and have appointment for saturday morning, so will start then.

CAnt't wait

I told my mum and she is very supportive,

and dh is going to do it with me too.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing - he is 2.5 stones overwieght but insists he is doing it in a supportive capacity as he "doesnt have a wieght problem" how bloody condescending is he?!?!?!?!". I pointed out that he wouldnt be accepted on to the program unless he needed to lose wieght and he went a bit quiet - ha!

AM going out to cinema tonight with best mate for her birthday, so will be enjoying my last few days of eating - tyring to fight the urge to absolutely pig out before saturday though - wierd

Dabbles · 19/06/2007 14:58

arghhhh... feel totally zapped of energy.. day 2... when will this pass???

IrishLady · 19/06/2007 17:21

I promise it does pass Dabbles, but will get worse before it gets better .. storm before the calm ... somewhere between day 3 and day 5 you will get into ketosis and feel FANTASTIC!!!

MunkiBaby · 19/06/2007 18:08

dabbles, i'm feeling the same way....day 2, as well.

today has been worse for me than yesterday...mind you, i was out of the house for most of the day. however, today, i've been in allll day minding the baby, mostly. not to mention, i have a mild headache haunting me all afternoon. After putting ds down for nap, i MADE myself get out into the garden, pulling weeds, strimming, etc....just ot keep me busy. ad it worked. i guess thats the trick then...keep busy!

it was difficult not to make pasta or toast or even a bowl of cereal. but i resisted. and am trying to resist, still. i'm a terrible boredom eater, you see. I make dh's and ds dinner every night...last night, i made them bolognese and it smelled like the best one i've ever made. ((probably only because i cant have it! heheh)) anyways, DH was very nice and told me it was very bland and i probably wouldnt like it at all, that i wasnt missing anything. i could tell it was nice, but i chose to "believe" what he was telling me and appreciated his "encouragement". ;)

So, whats for dinner/tea for everyone? ((of course, i mean what flavour!)) hmmm since i had savoury for lunch, i'm going to have a sweet...perhaps i'll give the strawberry a go...

OP posts:
Dabbles · 19/06/2007 18:27

lol, i made bolognese too! and it looked so yummy!

what time u having your shakes? i am still 'eating' with the kids, so 8, 12 and 4.45

means i am starving now!!!

IrishLady · 19/06/2007 19:04

Must have been a bolognese day as I made it too for my batch for my little girls dinners!! Smelt absolutely divine!!

MunkiBaby · 19/06/2007 19:16

ha! mustve been something in the water we were drinking.

Dabbles, im not really following the same eating times as my ds (9months). if i did that, i'd be very hungry, seeing as i dont go to bed until about midnite.

im feeding ds now, and dh is eating his dinner, so i'll sort myself out in a mo...and then it will be water city, bebe.
hehehe

OP posts:
CayKon · 19/06/2007 22:24

day 2 stuck to it 100% but I feel absolutely exhausted, wanted to go to bed for a nap this afternoon but with dd 14.5months and ds 10 weeks not a chance.

Hate spicey tomato soup it made me gag. I won't be getting that one again.

MunkiBaby · 20/06/2007 07:06

I was already a huge fan of campbells tomato soup so perhaps thats why i like spicy tom so much...
i'm reluctant to try broc cheese. its one of those flavours that is either very nice or totally revolting.

right, now on to day 3! CayKon, you as well then? i hope that we both find today to be just a little bit easier than yesterday. I was totally knackered as well.

i weighed myself this morning, again...down 7 lbs in 2 days. woot woot its motivating me, indeed!

btw, funny to see both dabbles and spooky on the minimins page. ;)

good luck for today...

Right, Morning All! 9 days in....

Must of been something n the air, I was shattered yesterday! Of course it might be because my lovely children like to wake up at 5:00 in the morning

I made a lovely vanilla orange mousse the other day gave dh a bite and he said thats that diet food! hehe

So does the totmato soup taste like campbells? If so I might have to try it then. I love campbells tomato soup, but usually have it with a cheese sandwich as well.

Made dh stir fry and it smelled so yummy. Has anyone noticed that you can smell everything? and it always smells SO good lol!

Has anyone tried the recipes? I tried making chips but they're just not coming out right

CayKon · 20/06/2007 08:53

I decided not to weigh myself I am going to wait till when i see my CDC. I went to bed aching last night especially my neck and left shoulder, and It still aches this morning. I havem't done anything to cause it.

I am dreading my soup today after having the tomato, at least I really liked the chicken so worse comes to worse next time i see cdc I can just have those

Off to try banana for brekkie

CayKon · 20/06/2007 09:17

If i drink large quantities of water (1pint) quickly I get pains in my stomach. Is this normal?

yummymummy327 · 20/06/2007 09:18

you know I told myself I wouldn't weigh myself but what do I do every morning? I can't resist not too lol

When I first started I was achey as well esp my legs and bum it was like I exercised for 3 hrs lol but I have been reading that others experience the same thing.

IrishLady · 20/06/2007 11:34

CayKon .. are you sole sourcing? With a 10 week old baby???

CayKon · 20/06/2007 12:50

Irishlady - yes I am but I am not breastfeeding.

I joined slimming world when he was 1 week old and lost 1st 12lbs, but was getting bored and wanted to get rid of food completely so decided to give this ago. Day 3 and haven't cheated .

MunkiBaby · 20/06/2007 13:51

CayKon, in a little way, im surprised that you CDC allowed you to do SS, i was under the impression that you couldn't start SS until after 3 months of having baby. i fear that you may be depriving your body of the proper foods and nutrients it needs to get back to normal. I've just weaned my 9 month old off boobie and then started SS. The aches that you are feeling are odd as well. im on day 3 as well, and i havent felt anything of the sort. hmmm... I do hope you feel better. but again, perhaos you should chat with your gp or the CDC again , to make sure this is healthy after only 10 weeks from delivery.

;) oh, just had Fruits Of The Forest (we'll call it FOTF form here on out. hehe)). i made it with ice and it came out sort of Frappe like, and it was very nice.

And as far as the spicy tomato, it smells like campbells tomato. and kinda has a sweet campbells taste to it...iykwim. i made the mistake of adding maybe an ounce too many of water. so next time i have it, i'll like it even more. ((funny you should mention that you are used to having it with a cheese sandwich...everytime i have a soup, i have a HUGE hankering for loads of crumbled crackers in the soup for texture...im trying my best not to think about it!!))

hope everyone is doing well today.

OP posts:
CayKon · 20/06/2007 14:31

my cdc knew I had a baby so young as I took them both with me to the meeting.

The aches could be down to anything since i've been up and moving they have gone if it keeps reoccuring i'll go see a doctor

I'm having no other side affects.

I suppose i could ache since started up an exercise plan a few weeks ago. I have slowed it down on my cdc advice for a while but not stopped it completely. Maybe I am overdoing it a bit think i will skip my class tonight and see how it goes.

IrishLady · 20/06/2007 15:11

Your CDC is wrong to have you SSing ... did you fill out a medical form? It is one of the contraindications (i.e no can do Cambfridge) - I have had to refuse clients until their babies are 3 babies are 3 months old ... she/he should not have you sole sourcing .. your body has not yet recovered from the birth!!

Sorry but I am quite strict with people - for their own good I guess!!

IrishLady · 20/06/2007 15:52

Just re-read my message and it came across very strong .. I am just surprised at your CDC ...
