Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

ya! a new thread!

Hi Snowwonder

You sound a bit like me on WW - I was very good at making the points "work" for me, plus, if I didn't write it down I obviously hadn't eaten it...!!! Hence, this diet and not having to think about points, food etc seems to work.

I'm guessing I want to be between about 10 and 10 1/2 stone? To be honest it's so long since I was that weight it's hard to know!! The attitude I have taken with CD is that I may not stay on it till the end, but I want to stay on it for as long as possible. That may not sound terribly encouraging, but without putting pressure on myself that this has got to be "the" diet to take me to my target, I have managed to stick to it better - hope that makes sense! I do hope to stay on it till the end because it does work so well, (and I am very nervous about eating normally, if that's possible, again) - but if I end up having to diet normally to lose the last bit, then so be it.

Good luck on Tuesday. Have you checked out the Minimins forum - you'll get loads of advice/inspiration/hints and tips of there.

michaelad · 29/06/2007 07:55

bigfatmummy, that's exactly my attitude towards CD..I might well not do it til the end either..but it works so far (apart from major glitch yesterday). Putting myself under pressure always spells doom and what I usually then end up doing is eating! That's something my previous counsellor just didn't understand and accused me of not doing it properly and therefore losing weight at a slower rate. Well, at least I was still losing and as long as I was ok with it, it only would have worked out in her financial favour in the end.
Ah well, new counsellor now..and I'll just see how it goes.
If everything fails I might go to a local WW group to shed the rest..

but..this diet does really work, ladies!

wombat2 · 29/06/2007 15:52

Hi, can I join you? I started this diet on Monday, had lost 7.5 lbs by this morning, woo hoo! Have about 2 stone to lose but just can't stick to normal diets without cheating. Trouble is, I am still feeling hungry on this diet, so am worried about cheating! Will I stop feeling hungry soon?!

march29 · 29/06/2007 18:03

hi guys.its day 4 for me today and i am struggling. i have a wierd taste in my mouth sort of sweetish. anyone had that?? and also i know i shouldn't but i have been weighing myself and my scales don't show any loss atall!!!!

SpookyMadMummy · 29/06/2007 18:44

hi there.
If you have a weird taste in your mouth and its day 4 then you are probably going into ketosis or are just into ketosis. This is the good stuff! now you will start losing the weight!
I would try to ignore the scales though and be weighed using your counsellors scales, as there may be a discrepancy. I know there is with mine...
Good luck!

SpookyMadMummy · 29/06/2007 18:45

Wombat2, the hunger should pass hopefully by after the weekend! I have a glass of water if I am feeling hungry or drink plain warm or hot water as then your tum thinks you are full.

yummymummy327 · 29/06/2007 19:20

Hello ladies!

I've been gone for for a couple days and look at all the new faces hehehe

I had a downfall the other day and ended up eating. I tell you I felt so bad and so guilty. I know I'm not going to do it again. Its weird its like I had to eat to figure out how much I really want to stick to this diet. At least Im still in ketosis

Anyways everyone hang in there and heres to a thinner summer (well when it gets here lol)

gibberish · 30/06/2007 10:03

Hi everyone! Day 4 for me now. Have lost 6lbs according to my scales which I am amazed at as had works day out yesterday. Tried to be good - had chicken and salad for lunch and roast chicken with salad for dinner (wow, what variety!). But then proceeded to have 2 little cakes and a few vodka's . Ah well, back on it today with a vengeance and really have no other events coming up that should cause me to go off it.

gingernutlover · 30/06/2007 17:06

snowwonder · 30/06/2007 17:20

sorry i wanst very clear, i start on wed, after seeing counsellor on tuesday evening,

you had a great loss considering you are not that heavy, i am 15.5

gingernutlover · 30/06/2007 17:35

snowonder, i was that in january, did CD for 10 days and then became ill, and was 13,10 when io restarted a week ago, you can do it and because you have more to lose the first bit should come off easier, keep smiling and good luck for your first week

gibberish · 01/07/2007 11:57

gingernutlover 10lbs is amazing!

My weight loss this week isn't going to be great as I have had 2 meals out that I couldn't get out of.. really bad week to start. But I have definitely lost so still looking forward to getting weighed.

SpookyMadMummy · 01/07/2007 17:59

Back from my weigh in!!!
Its another 4 pound loss! takes me to 2 stone 4..
Have added another stone to go, so aiming for 11 st 12 instead of 12 st 12 now
My CDC has also agreed to sponsor me to become a CDC!!!

gibberish · 01/07/2007 19:24

Well done spookymadmummy! Absolutely excellent weight loss and congrats on soon becoming a counsellor! How long have you been CDing?

SpookyMadMummy · 01/07/2007 19:32

I have only been on SS for seven weeks!! My CDC thinks I have a brilliant attitude to the diet and had no hesitation saying yes when I asked him about sponsoring me

SpookyMadMummy · 01/07/2007 19:34

Oh and I am no longer obese just overweight now

snowwonder · 01/07/2007 19:35

well done on the fab loss......

so what is the secret to a good attitude to this diet,,,

i start this week

i cooked my girls there dinner tonight and realised that next week i wont be able to join them, so how do you resist? i have thought about cooking them things i dont like for the next few months, but that wouldnt be fair on them

SpookyMadMummy · 01/07/2007 19:55

Hi snowwonder
Well, for me, if I didn;t have to, I didn;t eat in the same room as the girls. When the dinner is cooking I would get the ironing board out, or change the beds, Anything not to be in the same room as food.
The first few days are no picnic, so I started splitting my shakes and soups so instead of 3 meals a day I had 6! and of course keeping up with the water helped my hunger pangs!
Once you are in ketosis then you will not feel as hungry and the hard bit is breaking the habit of picking at food. Once you start to pick its hard to stop! So the best advice I can give is don;t do it in the first place!!! I did and it took a couple of weeks to get me back on track SS'ing without the little extras!

gibberish · 01/07/2007 19:57

Just great SMM, really pleased for you! Gives me real hope that I am finally going to get rid of this last bit of weight when I read stories like yours. Thanks.

MunkiBaby · 01/07/2007 20:11

ooOOooo many congrats to the newcomers for taking the plunge...

and HUGE pats on BACKS for all the weight lost from the rest of you!

i have been up to my ears in the kitchen! baking up a storm for the school in the village. they were doing a summer fayre and asked if i could whip up a few baked delights. and make a cake for the Guess the Weight table...i'm very proud to say that i didnt lick a single bit of it~ woot woot!!

and last night, we went to a family anniversary party and i resisted the alcohol AND the buffet...more importantly the mountain of Profiteroles!!!! ((im a cake monster fo sho!!))

If i lived under the reign of marie antionette, when she said, Let Them Eat Cake, instead of protesting i would've just said FINE BY ME! and been on my merry little peasant way..

ok i swear i havent been drinking, i realise ive gone off with silly cake gibberish.. hehehe

and on that note,
tomorrow will be my 2nd weigh in...
so far i've lost 1st 6lbs!!!
nearly a stone and half in 2 weeks!

will give the official total tomorrow!
hope u all had a nice weekend

snowwonder · 01/07/2007 20:16

wow munkibaby that is a fantastic loss- very motivating.... how much do you wiah to loose?

yummymummy327 · 01/07/2007 20:46

Those are Fantasic losses!!! Woo Hoo!!

SMM congrats for getting sponsered for a CDC I bet you'll be great!

I don't know if I'm stuck at a plateu or if it's TTOM but I really haven't shifted any weight this week, I know that did cheat (that once) but I was back in ketosis a day later (I have those little strips that tell you)

Anyone know if it's alright for me to start exercising? I'm thinking after I put the girls to bed I'll take the dog for a jog hehe

I don't know if anyone else is doing this but I've been cooking up a storm. Even my 15 yr old nephew said he couldn't eat anymore! LOL and we know what teenage boys eat like....My husband said that if I keep this up he'll have to start the diet lol

bigfatmummy · 02/07/2007 10:54

Just got weighed - lost another 4lbs!!! I'm SO happy.

Grand total now 4st 13lbs (inc 7lbs lost with ww).

Good luck to everyone with their weigh ins this week.
