Shall we start this new thread with weight lost? Sure! It's always good to start on a motivational note. So, please, briefly post your loses to date, and if you wouldn't mind, include the amount of time, so far...

yeah I noticed they had them on ebay too, but really didn't want to pay a arm and leg for them either but just might have to though

SpookyMadMummy · 24/06/2007 22:13

Yummymummy can you CAT me? I have some spare packs.... if not email me sewing mad [email protected] (take out the spaces)

MunkiBaby · 24/06/2007 22:51

MICHAELA! wow you've come back! so very good to see you here plus well done for going back on CD. Day 7, i'm feeling great. tomorrow is the official weigh in, except i dont see my cdc until the following week.. dont know why but oh well, no worries. im cool with that, plus i know if i have problems i can phone her or just go to the forums or something.

Yummy! excellent on the near stone loss!! woot!

caykon ~ do keep in mind that those that have more to lose will usually lose more in the first weeks than someone smaller. i would love to have only 3 stone to lose! after this first stone, i have at least another 5 to go. The weeks following wont be near as much as what i've already lost. so dont get disheartened, hun!! 4 pounds is great!! Keep it up!!

hello southeastastra~ feel free to pop in and browse thru our trials and tribulations in the world of the cambridge Diet. Welcome!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and that you'll have a wonderful monday... keep posting here! hehehe

okay day three and am very hungry tired and irratable but am determined to do it this time.

caykon the first time i did cambridge (only for a week ) i lost 12 pounds but then i was 15 stone then with 5 to lose, now I am lighter i guess i might lose less but my cdc did say she was similar size to me and olost 3 stone in 3 months so it will work!

CayKon · 25/06/2007 11:20

On day 8 now. Will have an official way in tommorrow, so will try not to get disheartened till I now exactly what I have lost. I haven't cheated and drank btw 4 - 5 litres water everyday.

gingernutlover · 25/06/2007 13:26

well done caykon - you should def lose then, and if it isnt as much as you had hoped then i'm sure there is a good reason and it will come off next weigh, in, poss down to hormones/time of month etc?

Dabbles · 25/06/2007 14:45

changed over to cambridge today! was very excited about variety!!!!

lost 10lbs on first week of lipotrim!! waheeeeeyyyyy

yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 14:53

Hiya ladies!

I think I got the mastering of making a huge nice shake. Add 12oz water and mix in blender, blend for a few seconds then add about a cup of crushed ice into the blender and blend for 30-60 secs. Perfect! and I get to big glassfuls which is a bonus

Spooky thanks for that but 1 on the many cdcs I emailed got back to me and I see her tomorrow but THANKS so much for the offer

I just wonder why none of the other cdc never got back to me. Is it something not allowed? I figured as long as I have my yellow form from my cdc it wouldn't be a problem.

ginger I was that way my first week but it seems to slowly pass. just try to keep your mind on other things and when you feel hungry drink your water.

My cdc told me that I could make half a shake and then save the other for later. Might be something you want to try.

Caykon your doing everything right so the weight will come off. I too have about 3 stones to lose. Maybe we can buddy up eh?

I took all my nice skinny pre dd1 clothes out from the loft last night for extra incentive hehehe cant wait to get into my favorite jeans again

everyone have a great day!

CayKon · 25/06/2007 15:20

yummy thanks for the support, its very very demotivating when the weight isn't coming off especially as I have been so angelic on the plan. I am going to give it another week, if its still not showing on the scales I will seriously consider slimming world again, at least I can stuff my face and loose weight.

yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 15:49

Hey Caykon yes please wait at least a couple week, try to finish the 4 wks and at the end of your SS if you haven't lost what you expected then give slimming world a go. It's only been 8 days....Also try measuring yourself I bet you'll see a big difference there and thats where it's more important. Before DD1 I weighed about 140-145 but was in a size 4-6 in dresses, size 8 in tops and trousers and a 10 in jeans (bare in mind these are american sizes) got pregnant with dd1 few wks before I moved to the uk so never got to go shopping lol

Please don't get discoraged! You WILL get there

MunkiBaby · 25/06/2007 16:17

yummy, where are you from?

OP posts:
yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 16:24

I'm from San Diego, California

MunkiBaby · 25/06/2007 16:32

ooOOoo i'm from Sacramento. closest i've ever lived to san diego was mission viejo, part of orange. ((i have to say that although san diego is a very nice city, i do prefer my northern coasts!))

how long have you been living in the UK? i've been here with dh just over 2 years now. very homesick for family, friends, and ((dare i say it on this thread)) In-n-out burger. will be taking my 9m old,Fynn, to sacramento to meet the family in september...must...resist...in n out!

heheheh i'm sure it wont be a problem.

caykon so stick to it as long as you can, and i agree with at least 4 weeks. i think you will be pleasantly surprised in the end!

OP posts:
yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 17:43

LOL What a small world! I have to admit the northern beaches are beautiful but I do prefer the so cal

I've been here 3yrs now and I agree, I'm completely homesick! I miss so many things back home

In-n-out Mmmmmm (homer simpson moment hehe) I also miss jack in the box (ultimate cheeseburger) That was my problem when I was pregnant with DD1 I went back to the states when I was 7m pregnant and ate like a cow I couldn't help it I missed it all LOL

Caykon ~ your drinking 4-5 liters per day?!? Now someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought we were to have at least 4-5 pints of water.

CayKon · 25/06/2007 17:55

Yummy - I don't like tea or black coffee so its the only fluids I have. Even before CD I drank almost this much anyway

yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 18:21

Oh okay I don't drink tea or coffee either so it was no loss hehehe but I did drink diet coke and zero Dr pepper....was told you could have the zero range but I prefer just not to have any...no temptation its bad enough having to cook the family dinners and not be able to eat any... even beans on toast look good now lol

gingernutlover · 25/06/2007 19:33

okay, need some advice guys

not me but dh who is on sole source with me has a possible lunch on wednesday. He is a carpenter and site foreman and has a progress meeting on wednesday.

the last time he had one of these all the guys were taken for lunch as the last part of the meeting. He doesn't want to appear rude but also doesnt want to ruin the hard work of the last few days, we will both be on day 5 of the first week by wednesday. Obviously since they will acrry on discussing things at the lunch he cant just not go, and he also says it is a restaurant type pub with all tables laid out so he cant very well go and just have a drink, can he? I have suggested he goes and has a coffee and explains he is on a special diet for health reasons and has a pack up I have done for him back at site but he seems unwilling to do this. I know theoretically he could have a small chicken salad (as on the 790 plan)and probably stay in ketosis I am not sure if this is true when you are only 5 days in?

yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 19:44

Ooohh thats a tough one...If he's not willing to just have a coffee and tell them hes on a special diet like you suggest and he feels like he has to eat some thing then have some chicken (maybe a bite, like he's eating but not really eating iykwim)....truthfully If he did eat I don't know how that would effect his ketosis, considering he'll just be going in ketosis I would think by having food it would throw it off. Of course don't quote me on that....

Truthfully his safest bet is to go with plan A and have a coffee or tea and tell them he's following a strict diet

sorry I couldn't be more help

yummymummy327 · 25/06/2007 21:06

Ginger I found this so it might help him make his decision easier

Why no other food or drink allowed?

Taking extra food can destroy all the good the Diet was designed to do if you eat or drink anything else - even an apple, a nibble of raw vegetables, or milk in tea or coffee - then you are actually making it more difficult for yourself. As eating or drinking foods that contain carbohydrate can prevent ketosis from developing or break an established ketosis.

In fact your body may stop using up fat and your weight loss may slow down or stop. You will lose the benefits of the fat burning process and may lose your feeling of well-being. You may start to feel very hungry indeed and so, find it difficult to resist eating more.

Remember, the Cambridge Diet provides all the nutrients your body needs whilst on the sole source programme. You do not need any other food.

Only Cambridge Diet and allowable fluids should be consumed. Anything else is not sole source and cannot be expected to produce the same results.

gingernutlover · 26/06/2007 08:09

hi yummymummy thanks for that - i will show him this. If it was me then I would go and just have a coffee and explain to everyone about the C diet cos actually i dont care what people think, especially when they'll still be fat and i wont but thats men for you i guess......

thing is, he almost went on the 790 programme anywqay and he keeps saying that surely it wont matter if he does a 790 day - i say well yes but you cant erxpect that massive first wieght loss if you do that and you will probably feel crap afterwards and find it hard to carry on.

I am terrified of the add a meal week myself, really really scared to eat incase i cant stop.

how is everyone else doing? Caykon, good luck with your official wiegh in today, hope its great news

CayKon · 26/06/2007 13:33

Hi evryone.

Bit of a funny question - I am really suffering with constipation on this diet, I drink plenty so thats not the problem, I spoke to my cdc she gave me some fibre89 or whatever the number is. I have 2 teaspoons a day like recommended and still not doing anything ( plus its expensive) Is there anything else i could take without jepordising the diet??

Crazybeauty · 26/06/2007 15:42

Hi All,

I am starting the CD diet today. I bought the 30 day package and ready tostart on sole source. Any one starting on the same time willing to be my buddy. Please help with motivation. I have 50 lbs to loose

gingernutlover · 26/06/2007 17:21

hi there

iam on day 3 so just started, have around 3.5 stone to lose so around the same as you

hercules1 · 26/06/2007 17:24

What's the 30 day package?

MunkiBaby · 26/06/2007 19:40

welcome crazybeauty.

hercules, im guessing it is something that her cdc puts together and offers. some of them is have been known to make different offers. its really down to the cdc's. all in all, its the same product.

dont know about everyone else, but i'm feeling a little hungry today!
