All welcome to join - no matter how you’re losing weight, whether you’re new or further along your weight loss journey, whether this is a return to losing weight... all are welcome Smile

We’re aiming to lose half a stone in a month (but any loss is a positive step toward our goals!).

Glad to hear it Happydays! I remember hearing that lack of sleep, and also things like stress, drives up cortisol (and/or some other chemicals...) which create cravings for carbs and sugar. I can’t remember the full science Blush but it made sense when it was explained to me!

I use Diet Doctor and in their guide to weight loss plateaus, one of their top tips is simply ensuring you get enough sleep.

First day of the blood sugar diet here. Pretty hard!!! I’ve drunk loads of water and herbal tea. Have felt pretty tired and a bit dizzy at Rome’s today, hoping it gets better.
Going to have an early night or I feel like I’ll be hungry again! (I’m in Australia, I’m not going to bed at lunchtime!!😂)

MiniDoofa · 02/09/2018 13:22

At Rome’s??????? 😂😂at “times”
😂

Chimichangaz · 02/09/2018 15:09

Well I didn't have the best of starts yesterday after scoffing a piece of cake (I rarely even eat cake! More of a savoury type) and then tea and toast when I got home at 9.45pm. So - today I did 10 mins on my mini trampoline and a 25 minute Body Coach workout, then had porridge at 12. Have made a stew and chilli for freezing small portions and a frittata for 2 days of breakfasts. Hoping getting organised will make me keep on track.

beela · 02/09/2018 16:48

I've done day 2 of Ripped in 30 today, and managed to avoid snacks by being busy. Making a roast dinner now, with crumble for pudding... I'll have mine without custard and with not much crumble so its mainly just stewed fruit. I'm counting that as success.

Joining again. Started July at 166.5, lost 8.5 in July to take me to 158, lost 7 in August, so current weight 151. Hoping for 4-5lb this month as getting closer to goal and have a weeks holiday in there too.

Carriemac · 02/09/2018 17:20

May I join please? 13.4, want to lose a stone by mid oct for a big weekend away. doing dry September, and low carving during the week

Rentonsstillgettingit · 02/09/2018 19:52

I would like to join, have got into habit of eating a bag of crisps or a choc bic if hungry and crept up to a stable 9 st 11
Not overweight but means clothes don’t fit and I feel fed up a lot. 9 stone 4 and I would be back in the game. Evening is bad but mainly trying to make healthy choices and do an extra run per week.

Blessthekids · 02/09/2018 23:29

It starts tomorrow with my first fast day. 11 stone 13 Blush

Happinessisabook · 03/09/2018 07:43

Good luck bless, I'm sure you'll manage.
Drink lots of water.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 03/09/2018 09:11

I'm also fasting today, bless.

Sipping green tea...

Lexilooo · 03/09/2018 09:26

Sorry I dropped out of the August thread. After a successful june and july I hit a plateau, and coupled with lots of occasions when eating on plan would be difficult together with feeling a bit bored with the food and the tracking I decided to give myself some time off.

So back on it this month, start weight 86.7kg. I will be back to low carb high fat with intermittent fasting but in a more relaxed way I think.

Might need some meal suggestions too to prevent boredom!

raisinsraisins · 03/09/2018 09:36

I’m finding the best way to deal with some of my snacking after dinner is to go to bed early. So, I’m missing out on an evening with DH on the sofa, but instead I’m getting into bed early, teeth brushed etc, and then spend an hour or so on my iPad watching tv etc.

My main difficulty is if I go out to a restaurant on the weekend evening. I’m good at choosing the right foods from the menu, but my main problem is that I’m so hungry by 8pm, as when I’m dieting I eat much earlier. How does anyone deal with having to have an evening meal so much later?

WhenDoISleep · 03/09/2018 10:33

Signing back on for September, I was on the August thread but didn't loose anything. Given it was the summer holidays, I am actually pretty happy to be the same weight at the end of the month. Starting at 13st 6.5 on 1 September, so 7lbs off this month would put me at just under 13st. I haven't weighed 12st anything in at least 6/7 years Shock.

Unfortunately a 'relaxed' weekend means I'm currently 13st 9.25lbs, so I need to loose the weekend bulge first, which I'm not going to include in my overall result for the month.

Blessthekids · 04/09/2018 13:44

Thanks @happiness and @ethel

It went pretty well but need to be more imaginative with my one meal, I just had lots of Rivita!! Next one not til Friday.

Good luck to everyone

Smarshian · 04/09/2018 14:36

Weighed in this morning as Tuesday is my weigh day and 1.5lb down since last week, which I'm counting towards September weight loss.
I won't be weighing next week as I'm on holiday but hopefully I will be able to maintain this for the weigh in the week after and then lose a bit more in the last week of September to take me to around 4lb for the month.
Current weight 149.5lb

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 04/09/2018 16:04

bless You can make a niçoise salade with a tin of tuna, two hard boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, green beans and olives which will come in at about 400 calories and will fill you up with enough calories left over for a yoghurt or a banana. It's one of my go-to recipes for fast days.

Happinessisabook · 04/09/2018 17:34

bless there's a 5:2 thread on here with some good recipes and links to recipes. Might be worth a look, I find it quite useful and some of the things are delicious

beela · 04/09/2018 17:58

61.6kg today. Yesterday was a bit of a fail (mainly cake related) but today has been good, I even resisted the chocolate biscuits that came out as part of a day out. Just got to get through gbbo later without reaching for the cake tin again GrinCake

Threeminis · 04/09/2018 21:09

Weigh day is Wednesday here for me.

Are any of you using exercise dvds? I don't have any but thought about streaming - is that a thing? Netflix or something??

If not does anyone have any they would recommend - I tried the 30 day shred but struggled to keep up.

beela · 04/09/2018 21:50

@threeminis try the Joe Wicks hiit workouts. Loads on YouTube.

Threeminis · 04/09/2018 22:19

Thanks @beela I'll look him up! 💪

MissWimpyDimple · 04/09/2018 22:34

Well initial loss of 1.5lbs turned to gain of 05lb this week.

Need to buck my ideas up.

RavenLG · 04/09/2018 22:49

Ooh, can I join in please?
I started on Monday. I weigh a HORRIFYING 17st 4.2lbs. Ideally I'd love to get down to 9st.
I'm getting married in 2020 so need to loose a good 3/4 stone by Feb time 2019 to start looking for a dress. I'm so fed up with my health and being constantly fatigued, achey and barely being able to walk for 5 mins without being out of breath.
I don't know how I got like this, I'm so disgusted with myself.

beforeihit30 · 05/09/2018 00:40

Welcome @RavenLG Flowers I know it can feel that way but you’re not disgusting, and hopefully we can be some encouragement on your journey Smile congratulations on your engagement!

@Threeminis I’ve used Fitness Blender, it’s free and has workout videos for different strengths, capability etc. I like the videos as they’re not full of over excitement and heavy dance music Grin however if that’s what works for you then this will seem a bit plain! The programmes available for purchase essentially mix various workouts together for a particular focus, e.g. strength, fat burning and so on. They’re about £7 - I’ve bought two because I liked how they look and I think they’re good, the programmes are designed as a four week block which obviously you can repeat or do something else, however I used the workouts without the programmes for ages as a free user and liked them and found them good.

Have been treating ourselves again this week (milestone celebration), but again have noticed we can’t eat as much as we used to, and (not deliberately) at a lot less else the rest of the time. Not sure if I’ll be a full 7lb this month, as I feel like I’d need to be aceing it now to do that and tonight’s celebration meal doesn’t feel like it leads to a 7lb loss Grin but I’m optimistic.
