Half a stone off in September - getting into the swing of it!

All welcome to join - no matter how you’re losing weight, whether you’re new or further along your weight loss journey, whether this is a return to losing weight... all are welcome Smile

We’re aiming to lose half a stone in a month (but any loss is a positive step toward our goals!).

My weigh in days are Saturdays and there are 4 this month- so 1.75lb down each week is required!

4lb in August was a bit too f a win considering went to two all weekend parties and took a few weeks off work.
Taking control again in September as life settles back into a routine.
Half a stone lighter will bring me so close to my target I’ll nearly be able to touch it!

Can I join please? I weighed myself and am 10st 13 which (other than pregnancy) is the heaviest I have ever been.

I'm blaming it on having a coil 4 months ago and I've put on half a stone since then.

I'm feeling bad about myself. If I lose half a stone, I've still be slightly overweight (I'm short!) but at least I'd be comfortably back in my clothes.

I’m in. I’m on the 16:8 thread too, but this one seems quite active so thought I would follow both (the more motivation the better). I’m at 11st 11lbs (3lb loss in first week of 16:8 but I know it will tail off if I don’t keep motivated). Goal by year end is 10st 7 (even better if i can get down to 10). I’m breastfeeding so not going ultra low on calories but just trying to eat sensibly. Trying to keep as many meals as possible plant-based after being inspired by the Michael Greger book

Would like to join even though I am in my seventies but really want to keep as fit as possible. I weigh 10stone but my ideal weight is 9stone 4lbs. The most I should be is 9stone 7lbs. Have got a Fitbit to moniter walking and sleeping but not used the calorie counting provision. My daughter has lost a stone by cooking from scratch and only drinking alcohol at the weekends. I cook from scratch and examine fat content and sugar etc. I have now given up biscuits and ice cream. Here’s hoping as I need to keep weight off to help hip replacement, blood pressure and ward of diabetes. It would also be great to look better in my clothes. Hope I’m not too old to join.

I'd like to join too please. Weighed in at 13st 5 this morning and want to get back to 12 10lbs (am 6' tall) and back into clothes that are just a little too tight.

Am still laid up with horrible head cold, however am taking control of self and trying harder to balance intake. Not too stressed as it'll be gone by end of the weekend and I'll be back to walking three dogs and checking my horse.

I have a Fitbit too, when I first got it I used it really spur myself on to be active, these days I have built in being more active as a result (as in walking, taking stairs etc) so I tend to hit the step count fairly naturally, but it still acts as a reminder to me when I’ve had a ‘lazy’ day. I have the Charge HR and I also really like it’s other features, especially mobile phone notifications and a reminder to go to bed! These are quite helpful for me Grin

I’d like to join too please. I’m looking to lose about 10 lbs. I’ve been totally overindulging over the summer coupled with less activity. My weakness is eating in the evening after dinner, grazing on crisps and chocolate. I think it’s become a habit.

I’m going to start on Monday though as we’re out for a curry night at friends tonight.

I am tempted to try 5:2 or blood sugar diet to get me kick started.

Hope it's not too late to join. I need to lose weight... I'm 64.9kg, I'm only 5'3" so that's pretty heavy. I need to be between 50 - 58kg at my height & build. DD starts at school on Tuesday so I'll start exercise regime then. I comfort eat too much chocolate, need to switch to unsweetened cocoa as a treat in the evenings only (on the basis that it requires thought & effort to prepare, is more filling/nutritious because of the milk, & I can't just keep getting a bit more...)
Diet is starting today. Less rubbish, more wholegrain, more veg & salad. Smaller carb portions. I eat too much cereal when I'm ill, because it's easy. Need to fill up on water or other drinks, like herbal tea instead.

I lost 7 pounds last month and want to lose 7 more this month to get to my goal. Currently weigh 10s13. I’ve tried lots of diets but this month I’m going to do it my own way by calorie counting. Weekends are the hardest as I find it much harder to be able to control what I eat.

Ok done my measurements. Where I want to lose from (aka everywhere haha) is thighs (27 inches), waist (33 inches), hips/bum (42/44 inches) and my arms (12.5 inches).

I'm quite an obvious pear shape, so hoping to lose more from my bum and not really much from my chest. We shall see.

I’d like to join too, please. I got down to 9s last December (from 12s 5lbs, decided 9s 7lbs was my ideal weight but somehow have accidentally ended up at 10s 4.5lbs. Blush I’m 50 and 5’ 4”.

Snacking is my downfall so I need to get back into 3 meals and lots of tea in between. I cycle three times a week and do two gym classes and must not let this slip!

Have a wardrobe of clothes that don’t fit, and we’re coming in to spring here so not much longer to hide under jumpers.

Have 1.5 stone to lose but would be delighted at half stone in sept.

I lost 3 stone last year but the final few lb are stubborn and I've been stuck at 9st 10 for the last 6 months.

My cake habit is creeping back so I'm going to cut right back on refined sugar. I've also just started a round of Ripped in 30.

Right, I'm having stuffed vegetables for dinner tonight. And probably tomorrow too, it's one of my absolute favourite things to eat! Grin I only use about a couple of tbsp of quinoa in them, so not too carby, but I find them really filling, so much less danger of late night snackage. I've developed a horrid habit of reaching for sweet things after dinner recently... it's totally habit, not taste, & I need to get over it. I am trying to make sure I have healthier things in the fridge, for days when I'm still hungry after dinner, like plain Greek yoghurt, or fruit.

I am really looking forward to Tuesday, I will have some time to myself to tidy up & hopefully work out. Looks like a tornado has been through our front room... curse of the summer holidays!

OK, weigh in today 11 stone Blush. That's about a stone over what I should be. I'm having teryaki chicken tonight, minimal rice. the off to a bbq tomorrow, so will need to stuff myself with salads! Roll on Monday and back to some normality.

I’d love to join too please. Am at 11st 2lb and would love to lose about 10lbs. Have lost 10lb since start of July but am running low on motivation and high on appetite which is not helping matters. Looking forward to learning from you all. We can get there!!!!!!

beforeihit30 Thank you so much for your encouragement and welcome. You have no idea how that has spurred me on! It is harder as you get older as I believe your metabolism becomes slower. I too have the Charge Fitbit as I have chronic insomnia and it has helped to regulate my sleep. Love it’s little insights on sleep etc. I also wanted the flights of stairs registered and some of the others didn’t offer these.Apparently lack of sleep puts weight on. Something to do with the body not producing something which helps to keep weight regulated. But hey ho, on we go. Good luck folks we are off. Grin

Hey guys. Thanks the the new thread before. So August went well. Started at 211 and finished at 203 so I’m happy with that. Go on hols in 3 weeks so will probably miss the end of the thread but I will try and keep on track until then. Best of luck for September losses everyone
