Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

Not sure if it's the frugaleer in me or team rh'r but I just picked up the last 23g of smoked salmon out of my pack in the fridge at work and ate it just like that Hmm

@not2 what @life meant is she's doesn't really get totm in relation to my question as to if that would be causing a gain on the scales.

I'm doing ok this week, hopefully will add in steps next week too

Rant away mammy.

Not I meant it's probably me adjusting to being on the plan for 3 days last week before crashing off again I don't get totm as I have a coil that stops them

Very nice mammy - pity about your cold but your scales isn’t affected😉 I’ve lost 4.2lb on average over the last 2 weeks. Stuck to 1700-1800 with 15,000 steps a day. Macros haven’t been perfect, fibre good but only hitting around 70% of the protein but I’m not starving and all’s going well so I’m not stressed.
Sorry life, I thought it was some nutritional issue!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/09/2018 16:37

No need to apologise. The only nutrition issue is me stuffing too much, not nutrition dense food into my cake hole Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 23/09/2018 20:45

Great going not2obvious you're almost a perfect student now.

Tired & weary here, my average steps are about 4500 Blush

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 24/09/2018 17:28

Haha mammy, yep almost perfect! The protein level at 1700 is tough to hit without powders or bars & the powder makes me retch. I’ve wasted too much on it, yock. I’m assuming the reason for so high is to keep you fuller since 1700 is actually low - when you stick to it. But as I said I’m feeling full enough so not bothered. Scales bumped up by 2lb overnight, down to salty food & vino yesterday. I know it’s just flux but hate seeing it! Steps at just over 13,500 - last push now

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/09/2018 05:46

I find I hit protein more easily the days I have salmon/turkey mince/chicken

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 25/09/2018 07:05

Yes definitely mammy re protein. I'm at a point where I don't know if I can push myself to commit again and see what happens or settle as I am and sack it off. I've not been following at all properly and haven't got the headspace to plan. I know that sounds like excuses and it probably is but I'm not in a great place atm

Not2bObvious · 25/09/2018 10:01

How many grams of protein do you guys have to hit? I’m on 128 as opposed to 106 on 1800.
That’s 6 chicken breasts🤢

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/09/2018 12:20

I'm on 120g, I actually found it hard when I moved up to 1800 to cut it back as it was part of my routine to hit it!

OP posts:
mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/09/2018 12:21

There's protein in things you don't expect it to be too, like bagels & brocolli, and fage yogurt is brilliant

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 25/09/2018 13:08

Yep, getting it from other sources like bread/yoghurt/milk/meat

I had wholegrain with egg/reduced fat cheese/ham -
150gr Fage
Bran flake & milk
Chicken & bacon salad
Salmon quiche (so eggs & salmon) for dinner with peas/cauliflower/potato

Still 53gr short. It’s when I get to that point I say f* it, there’s a limit

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/09/2018 14:29

I suppose we're conditioned to one slice of ham in a sandwich, a small pot of yogurt etc and we've to turn that on it's head.

Have you got protein cheese like eatlean or protein granola or something like that?

You seem to have a lot of protein rich foods there so it's the quantities that need changing so.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 25/09/2018 15:32

You see I think the fact I’m not starving and I’m losing ok suggests to me I don’t necessarily need that level of protein - disclaimer for now! I know there’s meant to be a thermogenic effect but its only a small percentage. A bit of me thinks if you say I can eat what I want, and I don’t want or need to eat that much protein then I won’t. Over a week I’d say I’m getting 75-85% so not too bad. If I were on 1800 I’d be perfect. And I also know having avidly watched all Richie’s lives he had admitted to setting levels a little high to get people to make a good attempt - I have an inkling there’s a bit of that going on too. But hey I’ll see how it goes, I’m only back getting results cause I’m maintaining a deficit, if I struggle to do that I’ll horse in a pack of ham & 500gr of fage😉

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/09/2018 18:10

I suppose you'll get optimum results if you hit steps protein & fibre & water & good results if it's close enough on each. I can't preach I don't hit steps

Went through mfp for today & realised I never ate my clementines at lunchtime so now I'm going to have 57g breyers choc chip instead 2g under on protein 3g over on fibre so happy 😀

Woohoo mammy enjoy!!

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 22:13

I love finding protein rich food, it’s so satisfying.

That looks yummy mammy

Might weigh in tomorrow eeeeeeek

I’m still writing down everything and this week have been better at not snacking much at all.

Blondie1984 · 26/09/2018 05:29

You can buy high protein pasta in most supermarkets now plus try adding a few extra egg whites when you do scrambled eggs.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/09/2018 05:50

Or add an egg white to your porridge / look up Dickos video on this

That's great cag well done 👍

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 26/09/2018 07:55

Ive often wondered what the porridge with egg white is like - btw can you still find Dickos vids? I’m raging she’s gone, I really liked her, thought she was great.
Average coming back down after my usual jump on a Monday, hoping to see 1lb off by Sunday. Best of luck for weighing in cag and well done on cutting out snacking.
I used to add the extra whites but felt so guilty wasting the yolks😂
