Checking in (and checking straight out again) Grin

We're at the airport right now waiting to board a flight to Singapore. Just me and dd 16 and we'll be away for 3.5 weeks visiting Malaysia, Borneo and Indonesia.

I expect I will eat a lot but I also expect to be more active than normal so diet-wise it's anyone's guess. I won't be calorie counting but if my shorts stop fitting I'll need to adjust my eating Grin

Have a good month everyone. See you on the August thread for some serious recovery work Halo

BitOutOfPractice · 01/07/2018 07:34

Oh wow what a fantastic trip!

Thanks for the new thread! I'm going to keep trying to check in, still have 10lbs to go till my goal weight so lots of work still to do!

Kick Have an amazing time, what a trip indeed!!!

MissingPanda · 01/07/2018 09:26

Checking in. Haven't had chance to weigh myself since Wednesday si starting weight is 12st 7.9lb. Last month was a disaster but Wednesday's wi has at least given me a much needed kick up the arse. I'm calorie counting again and staying within. I went slightly over yesterday but still within if you count exercise calories. I was also quite a but under the other day so still under weekly total, not counting exercise calories, so far.

At work all day today but have to cook Sunday dinner. Luckily su is fussy eater so can avoid things like roast potatos/yorkshire puddings and concentrate more on veg.

Enjoy your holiday kick

NormskiNamechange · 01/07/2018 09:32

Kick - that sounds amazing. Have a great time.

I’m checking in. Have lost 7kg since March but had a bit of a blip last month, as I went on holiday and gained 4lbs. They have come back off but I’m finding it difficult to motivate myself.

I’m hoping to lose 7 lbs by September when I’m away again.

We can do this!

CiderwithBuda · 01/07/2018 10:59

Morning all! Thanks for new thread Bit.

Just tried working out my cals for last few days. Not easy. It’s a very rough figure! But trying at least keeps me focussed rather than in ‘oh sod it’ mode.

Kick - what a fab trip. Enjoy. Asian food is fab and can be healthy. But also very unhealthy! Just enjoy!

Official weigh in for June result will be tomorrow. Not sure I will have achieved 7 pounds. But fingers crossed.

This week I am planning on being super good. We go to Greece on Sunday but as we drive to Gatwick in Saturday that will be official pre holiday weigh in. Really wanted to be under 15 stone but I know I won’t achieve that. But I’ll try to lose as much as I can this week. DH goes away on Tuesday and I have nothing on socially so no excuses! Also have a fridge full of healthy foods, Greek yoghurt and fruit. Planning lots of fresh healthy food, exercise every day and lots and lots of water.

poorpaws · 01/07/2018 11:15

Thank you all for the kind words. I tried to have less for breakfast at the travel lodge this morning because at this rate none of my clothes will fit me. Boy I can eat when things go wrong.

Off to start cleaning the house again.

ShapelyBingoWing · 01/07/2018 11:19

Can I piggy back on please? I've lost 3st 7lbs in total so far but this year have largely stagnated. I'm hoping for another 2st off by Christmas and 7lbs in July seems a good way to start that!

BitOutOfPractice · 01/07/2018 11:22

Hello Shapely! You've done so well already

Paws I feel for you so much. What an awful thing to go through. I asked before but can you push for better temporary accommodation? I'm sure to must've tried

Koko - I’m the same - started so so many plans over the years. And social events always get in the way. I’m currently using MFP to track calories and using my Fitbit too. I’m looking at calories over a week as well as daily. Partly so I can have more cals on some days and less on others but also so that I don’t go over one day and think sod it till the following Monday and start yet another plan!

I’ve worked out my TDEE and am working to a 500 cal deficit every day with a view to trying to lose 2lbs a week.

I like the calorie counting as no foods are off limits but obv you get more food for your calories with healthy food and lower fat. I’m trying to keep an eye on macros too but not obsessing. Just trying to make sure I have enough protein, enough fat but not too much and not too many carbs.

I have been slipping back into bad habits with wine consumption so need to cut that out.

Hobbes8 · 01/07/2018 12:36

Hi all - I’m a newbie here if it’s ok to join in?

I lost about a stone quite quickly last summer on the blood Sugar Diet. I’ve maintained since then (Christmas blip has been lost again) and I keep thinking I’ll do another month back on the diet and lose another stone, but I can’t face it! It works but it’s pretty miserable and no chance of socialising.

1/2 stone in a month sounds much more doable. I’ve been doing loads of exercise lately and I’m toning up but I need to cut calories. Back on MFP from today I think. It’s my son’s birthday this month and we’re going camping for a weekend - I must stay strong in the face of pizza and sausages!

poorpaws · 01/07/2018 12:50

BOOP The accommodation thing is difficult because I have three dogs. There is a Premier Inn at the bottom of my road but they don’t take dogs. The travel lodge only usually take two dogs with two people but because I am alone they have allowed three dogs. My insurers wanted me to sleep at the Premier Inn and leave the dogs alone at home but they were in the kitchen overnight when the burst pipe happened and they are quite traumatised. The dog bed that they were lying in was so full of hot water that I couldn’t actually pick it up! Stupid dogs didn’t even bark and tell me and I had gone to bed early that night so water was pouring out of burst pipe all night and i could hardly breathe for the heat in the kitchen so no wonder they were badly traumatised. I just won’t leave them.

My biggest problem is that my old dog has a serious heart condition and she coughs and gags all night in the heat so none of us are getting any sleep. There is also a parking problem at the travel lodge so I’m leaving my car at home and walk home every day which is around three of an hours walk.

I’m trying to clear out as much as I can during the day but it’s very disheartening. There is not much point doing anything in the kitchen yet until it dries out and I’ve got a lot of things from the kitchen in the lounge and a lot of stuff from the store in another room so really there’s hardly anywhere to sit. Sadly my daughter hasn’t done very much apart from my washing. She keeps telling me “chin up” And that really isn’t a lot of help. To be fair to her she has offered for me to go and stay with her but I dislike her partner intensely (that’s another story) so I won’t go to her house.

It’s all a bit shit really and I’ve been fantastic for the last 2 1/2 weeks but yesterday and today feel quite down. It has helped a lot coming back on here and telling you lovely lot about it, I couldn’t bring myself to do that earlier on.

So sorry if I’m sounding sorry for myself, this is a dieting thread not a poor old paws thread. Ah just realised I’m living up to my username 😂

poorpaws · 01/07/2018 12:55

I watched Titanic on TV at the travel lodge last night for a bit of light entertainment! It’s the only place I knew where there was more water than in my home 😂😳

ponygirlcurtis · 01/07/2018 13:08

July already? Wow. Thanks for the new thread BOOP. 😊 Hello and welcome to newcomers.

Enjoy your trip BishopBrennan, that sounds amazing.

Flowers for you poorpaws, focus on your current situation for now. Hope it will all gets sorted soon. But definitely keep coming on here for support and just general chat, it will help.

1st of July and my first gym visit of the month year. Feel better for it. I will be maintaining over the summer - or trying not to pile it on anyway. Hopefully more gym visits will help that.

MummatoaMunchin · 01/07/2018 13:21

Hey ladies can i join?

I set myself a goal of losing 3st this year (though want to loose 5/6 in total and secretly wanted to loose it by oct) managed to loose a stone by april (started in Jan 16st 3.5lbs) and put a bit back on (now 15st 10lbs).

I have my sons 1st birthday and a hen so the end of July/beg aug so losing 7lbs would be a nice dent and i feel you ladies can keep me on the straight and narrow Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 01/07/2018 13:36

Oh Paws it really does sound traumatic. The safety of your own home is a very precious thing. I wish I could give you a real hug

My Lordy Paws. Sounds awful. How long will you have to stay away from home?

Thanks for the thread BOOP. Was a bit awol on the old thread but will try harder on this one. Will weigh in the morning for start weight. Holiday this month so not expecting major things 😆

MissingPanda · 01/07/2018 21:56

paws hope you get everything sorted soon. I'm glad you were able to find somewhere you were able to take your dogs with you.

Kept within my calorie allowance today so a good start to the month.

Welcome to the newbies Smile

kikineedshelp · 01/07/2018 22:35

Thank you for the new thread boop Smile

Thinking of you paws and your poor pups Thanks. I would be stress eating like mad too I think.

I did quite well last week, likely no loss overall but have reduced blobbiness. However, I am having a pain flare up which is not going to help me out much but I've got to learn to deal with it. Life is never simple eh?!

donerwillbehere · 01/07/2018 22:37

Can I join please ..... need to lose 2 stone but 7lb would be a fantastic start !

HappyGowerGirl · 02/07/2018 07:15
