Oh Cider I am truly envious! Have a wonderful wonderful time!

Connebert the calorie counters of this thread swear by MFP Smile I found it so eye-opening when I first used it, I had no idea how many calories were in wine some things! I don't use it any more, but it was a real education - more than helping me avoid high-cal stuff, it was invaluable in finding what low-cal stuff really gives you a "bang for your buck", so it really helped me form good habits.

The height / weight thing is really just to say that you should just muddle through until you find what weight you're happy at, as it may not be the same as another person of the same height's "happy weight" due to build, muscle mass, personal preference, etc. Do you have a sense of how much you'd like to lose? Or are you not losing, just having a health kick?

TVHubbyClaire · 09/07/2018 21:17

Still hovering around the 11st 13 mark. Personal life is making good eating decisions more difficult.
I can't seem to get in a good healthy eating or drinking habit.
Hopefully that will work itself out.
So many other good news stories here so well done everyone

poorpaws · 10/07/2018 00:39

Omg it never rains ...

You will never imagine what’s happened now! My little old dog got very severe gastroenteritis and sunstroke and had an emergency appointment at the vets. The vets noticed she is full of fleas and I looked at my other two and they are full of fleas as well. I have been bitten whilst at the travel lodge very many times! I think the whole place is lousy. My dogs have regular flea treatment from the vets and I know they didn’t have fleas when we went in.

I couldn’t do anything else but come home immediately, I would never have slept. So I’m at home, no hot water, shower, cooking facilities. I had a salmon sandwich and chocolate for dinner tonight.

I’m ringing my insurers tomorrow and I want everything moving on very quickly indeed. I can’t take my dogs anywhere with fleas, I wouldn’t do that any other dog owner And I won’t leave them alone. The travel lodge had loads of dogs in it and I think a lot of owners don’t flea their dogs because it’s expensive. Goes without saying they won’t accept responsibility.

My diet, definitely on the back burner! Poorpaws 🐾 is definitely fucked off.

Connebert · 10/07/2018 06:20

Losing - about 3 kilos. I was advised not to put on any so I also need to get a proper handle on mintenance once they‘ve gone.

HappyGowerGirl · 10/07/2018 07:57

Oh no poorpaws such bad luck!!!

Am 9.8 (61.2kg) this morning, the scales are definitely doing down this week! Been doing loads of exercise as well as healthy eating. Still having a few nights where I drink wine (I refuse to ever find out how many calories this is Quim!😂😀😅) but other than that I’m pretty virtuous😇

QuimReaper · 10/07/2018 09:53

Gower well done on the loss! I think a few wine nights are fine if you can just have a glass or so. I always go back for more though, and also struggle to have any nights without if I have some nights with (during the week, that is). A couple of years ago before I cut it on weeknights, it really became an indicator of "aaaaand relax": through the door, shoes and bra off, cold glass of wine. That was the real danger for me, it became tangled up in winding down, so without it I could no more feel like I was in chilled-out-evening mode than I could with my shoes still on.

I had the most satisfying night's sleep last night! I just checked my FitBit and I slept for exactly eight hours to the minute, and although I got up to pee twice (always a danger with dieting) I had entirely uninterrupted stretches between them, not even a wriggle! Just clear blue, then two pink lines where I stumbled to the bathroom.

I'm a bit obsessed with FitBit sleep data...

HappyGowerGirl · 10/07/2018 10:23

Quim I am exactly the same, wine time = relaxation time for me, probably by a very healthy attitude which is why I’m trying to cut down😳

HappyGowerGirl · 10/07/2018 12:04

Delicious lunch of half an avocado (with chilli flakes, salt and lime), carrots and an apple. Continuing my golden streak 😇 for now 😉

CiderwithBuda · 10/07/2018 15:40

Poorpaws - that sounds horrendous! I’ll never stay at a Travelodge again! Ugh!

I was woken up early this morning by DH snoring so went for a walk.

And I added in a short walk before lunch around the resort and had hit my 10K steps before lunch! (Which meant I could have wine!)

MissingPanda · 10/07/2018 17:57

Paws so sorry to hear about your dogs, especially the older one. They say things come in threes so hopefully this will be the last of it.

Gower sounds like a nice lunch.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of wine. Probably a good job as it doesn't like me either Hmm

I weighed myself on my way home from work. I was going to do it tomorrow then I remembered I'm in work all day so wouldn't get chance so it had to be either a day early or a day late. I opted for a day early thinking a loss would encourage ne to continue and a sts/gain would focus the mind. Anyway I'm delighted to say I'm now 12st 1.3lb, down from 12st 3.1lb, a loss of 1.8lbs if my maths is right Grin That is despite my blowout last Friday and WI a day early.

HappyGowerGirl · 10/07/2018 23:09

Amazing loss Missing!

HappyGowerGirl · 11/07/2018 06:38

60.9kg (9.8) this morning, inching further towards GW.

Today will be a write off though with the football later!!! (Pizza and beer anyone?)

QuimReaper · 11/07/2018 08:40

Amazing Missing, well done! And you Happy, you're very nearly there now aren't you?

Oh paws, the poor hounds and poor you - the four of you really are having a rough few weeks. I think you made the right call moving in back home, even san facilities. Is there a leisure centre near you? You could think about going for a nice relaxing swim, and then you can use their shower facilities! Not that that's generally a treat if your swimming pool's anything like mine, but at least you'd feel fresher, and probably jolly virtuous for having had a swim. Not having cooking facilities is absolutely carte blanche to eat sandwiches and chocolate. Do you at least have power to boil the kettle? If so do you have a microwave? I hope you've told Travelodge why you checked out. Unfortunately I guess this is why so many hotels are not dog friendly, they're just not equipped to deal with fleas properly, and they run riot.

Cider your holiday really is sounding heavenly Smile I love getting up early and drifting off alone on holiday, somehow it feels like a gorgeous treat, when back home it feels like a chore!

Well, weighed in again. Same weight as Sunday. Confused Sad This Golden Stint just isn't working for some reason. I'm annoyed at myself for getting complacent and eating larger meals last night and Monday night. I'm trying to work out what I'm doing differently, but I can't put my finger on it - obviously I've been a bit of a greedy bum the last couple of nights so maybe I've broken even, but I should still have been in a calorie deficit. I am pretty sure last week I was better on food and steps than I normally am, and I know I've been great with water. I guess I'll just have to really focus for the next couple of days and try for a decent final weigh-in. It's bloody demoralising. I'm still 1.3kg up, not even going to get back to goal at this rate. Bah.

QuimReaper · 11/07/2018 08:40

sans facilities*

QuimReaper · 11/07/2018 08:41

I seem to be on a mission to achieve the Mumsnet Record for Most Times Word "facilities" Used in One Morning.

HappyGowerGirl · 11/07/2018 09:32

Facilities😂😂😂

Keep going quim. That’s really demotivating but if you keep going it will pay off. I just went through the same thing in June and it is paying off now.

Softpebbles · 11/07/2018 12:31

Quim hats off for being so good but I think where we are at in our cycle impacts weight so much too. I wouldn’t beat yourself up. You are only 2/3 lbs up. I never take seeing a lower weight on the scales as a loss until I’ve seen it a few times anyhow. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to see but to consider it a new low I like to see it a number of times.

Today I did see a lower weight of 10st but I would be happier if I’d see it a few times. Unfortunately flying off on hols tomorrow so it’s doubtful!! ✈️

lastqueenofscotland · 11/07/2018 12:55

I will post daily on this thread... as I have been saying I will and failing for the last year Blush

CiderwithBuda · 11/07/2018 15:20

Quim are you having enough protein?

Another lovely walk this morning. Spotted a tortoise. And no it wasn’t going faster than me! Grin

My other encounter with Greek wildlife wasn’t so cute. Got stung by a bee. First sting in my 54years. So I suppose I can tick that off my bucket list.

Am at 15k steps so far today. Although we are 2 hours ahead of uk. Early dinner and then watching the football tonight.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 12/07/2018 02:15

Hi all. Just checking back in as I've fallen off the thread. I'm in the middle of the rainforest in Borneo. Having an amazing time in SE Asia so far. A great mix of exploring and relaxing.

No idea how I'm doing diet wise but my shorts still fit so I'll take that as a win. The food is lovely and doesn't seem too unhealthy.

Hope everyone is well. Enjoy your hols cider.

Flowers to poorpaws. Hope things start looking up soon.

HappyGowerGirl · 12/07/2018 06:45

So jealous of Cider and kick for their amazing adventures!

Obligatory daily weigh in: 61.0 kg which is only a smidge up from yesterday, not bad considering the night I had last night ⚽️🍺🍕🍷

QuimReaper · 12/07/2018 09:15

Oooooh Kick you lucky lucky thing, we went to Borneo on our honeymoon and it was so beautiful! And as you say the food is absolutely glorious! Watch out for the leeches though Shock Grin

Cider I'm not entirely sure - all I really had on Mon and Tues was a green smoothie and a big-ish meal with a few nibbles in-between, but the big-ish meal was eggs and fish on both occasions, so protein has made up most of what I have eaten. Other days last week probably not though.

Yesterday I kept steely focus, went for a final-push mega fast and hula hooped through the Semi Final. I decided to keep going as long as the players did and was longing for all the bloody extra time to be over! Although at the same time longing for just a tiny bit more extra time. What a depressing evening! This is literally the first time I've ever cared about football. (I was over it about twenty minutes later though so I obviously didn't care that much Grin )

Hello!

'Tis I! FizzingWhizzbee!

I named changed because I got outed (hoping the person who outed me isn't determined enough to track down this post!).

I am back, after a terrible, terrible fail over the past few weeks, so bad I was too embarrassed to post. I'm 12st 7.8 this morning, which is good, because it isn't the 12st 10 I let myself soar back up to, but bad, because it isn't the 12st 4 that got down to a month ago.

DH and I have made a couple of changes (basically main meals at lunchtime, light or no dinner depending on how hungry we are) to try and improve matters. I am off on my hols in 2.5 weeks and I really, really want to get close to 12st 4 again before we leave. I don't think I'll get that low that quick, but I just need to be thinner to mitigate the inevitable gain I get while I'm away.

Flowers Paws - that sounds horrible. I've dealt with a serious flood myself and I understand how upsetting it is.

HappyGowerGirl · 13/07/2018 06:41

Welcome back fizzing/quantum!

Obligatory weigh in at 60.6kg (9.7) today! 3.3lb down so far this month. 2 more lb to go and I’m at goal💪
