Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

Thanks @Rhubarb have mixed it up a bit now (I’ll elaborate below!).

@theredjellybean you’re right in it being imbalanced, as Rhubarb mentioned elimination tends to be but only for a short period, to then reintroduce foods and test for reactions.

I’ve never been a huge meat eater and by this morning I just couldn’t face any more, so we’ve sped up the reintroduction stage to what I was aiming for (a low carb diet, high fat, moderate protein) as this generally seems to work for me, but still testing. I’ve reintroduced things okayed by my doc, so I can have green tea, some whole grains and sweet potatoes (limiting carbs though), and dairy (although we’re going for lactose free in some parts, for DH’s needs more than mine). Feel much better, I couldn’t stomach any more meat Grin

I am however 160lb which was a goal I set for 10 July nearly 3 months ago, so yay! I’ve lost 4lb in July so far but some of that is because of the meat diet.

Well done! I'm glad it's working for you.

I did my 30 Day Shred workout earlier. Marginally better than the last one, and whilst I still couldn't get all the way through it without a pause here and there, I'm pleased that I did it.

littleredlipstick · 11/07/2018 20:58

Today was going so well until I got home from work. Brick and plaster dust everywhere. Living room off limits due to a new log burner being installed. Don't do simple things in this house Grin ended up with a takeaway but resisted the prawn crackers!! Had a Singapore chow mein and only ate half

littleredlipstick · 11/07/2018 20:59

But my new scales arrived so that's some good news until I weigh myself in the morning!

They have Bluetooth and measure fat%

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/07/2018 21:26

Oooh what are your scales little? I want some new ones that measure body fat

littleredlipstick · 11/07/2018 21:42

I got them from amazon RENPHO make, I downloaded the app for them before they arrived

littleredlipstick · 11/07/2018 21:44

These are the things it records on the app

Hi there!

Joining late this month as I have been on holiday.

I lost half a stone during June then put 4lbs back on during a two week holiday. I'm a bit gutted but I did eat and drink lots and enjoyed every mouthful so......

Anyway back on it today, I want to get half a stone off from my current 90.3kg by the end of the month.

I will catch up with the thread when I get a spare moment!

Happinessisabook · 12/07/2018 22:11

Oh bought me a fitbit Smile

Will be tracking things a lot better now. I've wanted one for ages so I'm so happy.

beforeihit30 · 12/07/2018 23:42

Great @Happiness! I have a Fitbit and think it’s great.

Hi Lexilooo at least you enjoyed your hols!

Only day 2 but finding low carb high fat much easier.

beforeihit30 · 12/07/2018 23:42

(Easier than I expected and easier than all meat, I mean!)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/07/2018 06:20

I love love love my Fitbit, even after 6 months i’n finding new things it does. The app and the graphs are great!!

Lexilooo · 13/07/2018 06:34

I use an activity tracker too, not a fitbit as they aren't waterproof, I have a huawei band 2pro. I love it really helps encourage me to be active.

tiffanysfanny · 14/07/2018 08:17

Good news for me. I have gone from 62 kg to 61. My next aim for the next week is get to 60.
My over role aim is to get to 57-58kg. I have always struggled for the past four years to get below 60.
I need to be a size 8-10 for my birthday in August. I hope I make it.

Lexilooo · 14/07/2018 08:51

I am down to 88.7kg this morning so that is a loss of 1.5kg (3.3lbs) since I got back from my holiday.

It is also only 0.4kg over my lowest weight in June before the holiday. 😁

Now just need to be good over the weekend! I still haven't quite managed to get my carbs as low as I would like though....... Need to follow some proper LCHF recipes I think.

Lougle · 14/07/2018 09:35

I'm on the way back down again. 62.7kg this morning. I really need to get down to under 62 kg as my next goal.

Lougle · 14/07/2018 09:36

I've done another 30 Day Shred since the last time I've posted, but no runs.

Happinessisabook · 14/07/2018 11:36

Due to weigh myself tomorrow morning, not sure what to expect!
I'm hoping I've lost, but don't feel like I have.

theredjellybean · 14/07/2018 17:18

I haven't run all week but been very disciplined with food except for pizza last night but was only thing I have eaten all day.
Weight stayed at 156.4lbs, so from starting point of 160 that's is half way to half stone.
Big big ball tonight so likely lots of calories but then back on it tomorrow

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 14/07/2018 17:48

Oh I’m so Envy you’re going to a ball tonight theredjellybean! Sounds lovely in this lovely weather. Hope you have a fab time.

I am having some boob related health issues (cheers breastfeeding), so tbh, diet has taken a back seat a bit. I’m still trying to stay mainly plant based and no alcohol, but other than that it’s been a bit of a free for all! Shall see what happens on Monday.

Well done everyone on the exercise. Brilliant in this heat.

Great tiffanys and Lexilooo!

I’m doing low carb, high fat, moderate protein (as it seems to be most natural and satisfying for me) and it’s gone well this week, sustaining weight loss. Today I’ve let it be more relaxed based on doctor’s recommendations (to have 1 or 2 days a week where I allow for ‘treats’, if I’m inclined), so I had some scone earlier and with dinner had some bread, some sweet potato and a dessert which was mainly cream (!) but with some biscuits. I know carbs are still part of my diet, and I’ve not piled them on the plate, but I’ve been more relaxed today, and feeling good as I don’t feel ‘guilty’ and I haven’t gone wild either, naturally, I haven’t felt like I have to hold back - that’s a really long winded way of saying I think I’m finally finding a healthy way of eating for me!

I’m hoping the weight loss continues so that this is overall a successful way for me to eat.

Lexilooo · 15/07/2018 09:27

Woohoo another half kilo off this morning! 🎉🎉

I weight myself daily rather than weekly, it keeps me on track and helps me see what makes a difference (good or bad).

So that is 2kg (4.4lbs) since I got back from holiday and I am 0.1kg below my pre holiday weight.

Lexilooo · 15/07/2018 09:41

before I am trying to do low carb high fat too. It is working much better than just calorie counting or anything else I have tried. I am also doing a bit of IF, 16:8 mainly at the weekend as in the week I can only manage to fast for about 14 hours due to work etc.

I started off reading Michael Moseley's blood sugar diet but I am just doing my own version of LCHF. I keep my calories down below 1500 net but find 800 too restrictive especially when I am exercising.

If you have any good recipes I would be interested as I am struggling to get the balance right. At first I basically just cut out bread, pasta, potatoes and rice but I could do with getting lower carb and higher fat. Happy to swap 😁

Happinessisabook · 15/07/2018 11:41

So I've gained 2lb. Basically back where I started. I know I've not been as good this week but I didn't think it was that bad Sad

tiffanysfanny · 15/07/2018 13:03

Well done everybody. You are all keeping me strong and pushing me forward.

I agree with weighing daily.
I always struggle at 61-60. I will not be beaten this time. I have an aim and I hope this keeps me going.
