Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

Ah thanks @theredjellybean. That’s true and a good way of looking at it! I’m more than capable of gaining that much in 5-6 weeks. So i could be 7lbs more than I am now 🤷‍♀️.

I could probably gain that in 5-6 mins if I let control go :)

I love 30 day shred! Jillian is hardcore. I have done all the way up to level 3, although not in 30 days. It definitely toned me up, but be careful of your knees. When I went circuit training, a lot of the exercises used there were from 30DS.
And remember- Don’t phone it in, people!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/07/2018 10:15

Oh and I should add- I haven’t weighed in this morning. Ended up eating so much this weekend, in fact yesterday was the first day this year that I consumed more calories than Fitbit said I burned, plus I only did 6000 steps when I normally exceed 15k every day. So basically I sat on my arse and ate food all day!

I’ve hidden the scales and I’m not getting them back out until my birthday in 10 days time. I was 10.10 on Sunday morning so I’m assuming that to be my weight!

Today I’ve had a milky coffee, run 5.5km and have done some housework. Just having a quick break and then I’m going to do another hour and then will probably have breakfast.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 09/07/2018 10:23

Grin don’t phone it in people!

I also love “can’t I just do bicep curls on their own? No, you canNOT”! Bloody love her. She’s obviously bonkers of course, but love her. I weirdly found the second level easier than the first, but never got to third level.

Oh dear - I have just been away for three days and put on 3.2 pounds - I am now 10 st 7.6lbs and want to be 9st 12lbs. Now have 9.6 pounds to lose! So back to it now only four weeks left before my flight. Have been good all day, not even a solitary glass of wine to drown my sorrows.

Have a good week everyone.

littleredlipstick · 09/07/2018 14:07

I'm in (a week late) need to get some weight off as diagnosed prediabetic last month and off on a cruise in October.

I weigh in at a work based weight loss group and lost another 1lb today so 15lb off since 8th January. Only 6lbs to go for the rest of the month and trying to lose the weight with low/no carbs

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 09/07/2018 14:37

Welcome lipstick!

shelties, I bet that’s all water. You sound like you’re back on it! Better than pushing the fuck it button! It’s a marathon, not a sprint and all that.

tiffanysfanny · 09/07/2018 17:03

I am still struggling along. I have weighed myself and 62 kg at the moment. I need to get to 60.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 10/07/2018 08:33

So, I’m down 3lb from when I joined. Dh has just started calorie counting too (well, I’m counting for him) so hopefully we can both lose. Going to walk to work and back today as it’s not as hot.

FiveShelties · 10/07/2018 09:06

Thank you Rhubarb - I think it could be wine rather than water!

lipstick you are doing really well

tiffany - it is a struggle to keep going, but you are nearly there now

howmany well done, makes it easier if you are both trying, especially if you are competitive!

littleredlipstick · 10/07/2018 10:39

I'm struggling at the moment, I have no kitchen for 3 weeks as it's under going a renovation. I have a microwave, bbq and a single camping gas ring to cook with so meals are challenging!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 10/07/2018 11:27

Wow @littleredlipstick, that sounds hard going!

At least it’s warm at the moment, so cold food is more appealing anyway? Clutching at straws Grin!

So I had a so so morning so far. Two large cups of milky tea with sugar Blush. I felt I needed it today!

But since then all good, though I’m really struggling to find much which is straightforward to eat / prepare, vegan and also low carb. I’m still avoiding starchy carbs and sugar (apart from the tea), but might allow myself fruit and pulses.

I just had some brunch of a raw carrot, an apple, a nectarine and some peanut butter. Just about to have a green tea. The baby is grumpy just now. Think it’s teeth or something and he will not go to sleep in his carrycot - only on me! It’s so cute though and I miss my dd doing it, so don’t mind... yet! Anyway, it makes cooking a bit tricky.

I’m planning to go swimming tomorrow night as everyone else will be watching the footie where I live! I’m not interested in it really and I’ll have the pool to myself - such a luxury!

Hope everyone else is having good days.

Oh ladies I’ve absolutely flopped this week! Last week of term (work in education) and have been stress eating all week. Got a dinner out tonight, but resolving to get back on it tomorrow!

Lougle · 10/07/2018 18:46

I'm up in weight, having been to my parents' 45th anniversary celebration, to 63.4kg. I'm determined not to be discouraged though, because that's still 1.4 kg off my starting weight 2 weeks and 2 days ago, so over 0.5kg per week.

I finished week 2 of C25k today, too. My muscles still really ache from the 30 Day Shred work out I did.... I'm a bit disappointed that DH and I haven't done another one yet. I don't know whether to just do some on my own, it gets tricky!

beforeihit30 · 11/07/2018 07:20

Been off MN a few days, hello to new faces!

Only day 3 of eating just meat (we’re doing a sort of elimination diet to test triggers for our conditions), but already had a bit of a wobble yesterday Grin I was feeling a bit ill - I think I actually ate something off - and couldn’t face anymore meat! Feel much better this morning though and also didn’t break the elimination diet so glad I kept going. Will see how we go, I’ve never been a huge meat eater which is part of the issue (with sticking with it) so I may have to vary it at some point as otherwise I just won’t eat much!

Waiting to see what scale says as I’ve never done this before...

beforeihit30 · 11/07/2018 07:22

Also survived a team event yesterday where we had lots of food and I refrained which I felt I’d done well with Grin

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 11/07/2018 07:54

Oh well done @beforeihit30! That’s a really tough thing you’re doing and it must have taken a lot of resolve to keep going. I hope it helps you figure out what might be contributing to your conditions.

@3D I don’t envy you dealing with last week of term stress! I’m a bit of a stress eater too. It’s a hard habit to break. Babies screaming = face in fridge for me sometimes Blush. I mean, I do sort the babies out first you understand. I have some self control Grin.

Well done on the C25K @Lougle! I’m supposed to be swimming tonight, but I think dh wants some company to watch the football... Not my thing, and I’m not even English, but he is both interested and English and is excited about it.

Just waiting for my shopping to arrive this morning as it has all my nice, healthy food coming! I’m trying some new oat based ‘dairy’ products. Will report back if they’re especially delicious. They’re lower calorie, so a good alternative for calories counters.

Weighed yesterday, lost 3lbs!
Have been eating well and running or training daily.
It's so hard though!

theredjellybean · 11/07/2018 08:24

@beforeihit30...just meat doesn't sound balanced or healthy. Were is your good fats, fibre and vitamins coming from?

I weighed today and down to 156.2 that is 3.8lbs off since end of June.

Been re focused on thoughtful eating and accepting being hungry etc.
Amazed how small a portion of stuff I really need to feel full when I concentrate on it.
Yesterday had one poached egg and half avocado at 11am, then a mini sausage roll at 5pm then small tuna steak, huge salad, three new potatoes, and three tbs of French dressing, then an orange at 7pm.

Feeling really positive.

Lougle · 11/07/2018 09:11

Wow, well done redjelly you're being disciplined. I'm glad you're seeing results.

Rhubarb I hope the oaty goodness tastes great. Let us know. I do like oats, although I haven't had much in the way of oaty stuff recently.

Before initiating is your elimination diet a medically controlled diet or a specific named diet? I've never heard of a diet that starts with meat only? I must admit that I'd never manage it and I'm not sure that it's all that healthy.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 11/07/2018 09:35

I thought elimination diets were, by nature, not balanced or healthy, as you have to start with a very small range of foods..? But no, I haven’t heard of one starting with just meat either. I’m sure @before has researched though. I’m sure it isn’t a long term plan.

Lougle · 11/07/2018 12:22

True, Rhubarb. I think I'm trying day 2 of the 30 Day Shred today. I'm looking forward to being on the other side of it, but I can't say I'm looking forward to it!! I think it will be good to do though.

Lougle · 11/07/2018 12:24

I think I'm going to measure my waist, hips, etc., so I don't just go by weight loss, as I don't have masses to lose and really could do with toning up as much as anything. I'd be really pleased if everything got a bit tighter and better defined rather than being like jelly on a plate Grin
