Right have had a horrendous day have eaten a ton of biscuits, a creme egg and not a lot else. I dont know whats going on but feel like I am on self destruct. Am going to order some shopping in a minute to hopefully be delivered tommorow and keep me on track..someone give me a pep talk please

IndigoMoon · 08/06/2007 19:03

Hello - hope you dont mind me joining.

I have never been here before but was surfing today and found it.

I am a mom of two - youngest son being 6 months.

I am doing slimming world - have been for three weeks (well four if you count the week i was on holiday) and have lost 5.5 lb so far.

I am hoping to get my half stone this week.

Mikkig · 08/06/2007 20:06

Nemo, hang on in there, I think we all have bad days and times when we seem to eat nothing but syns all day. Just make a new start tomorrow and hope for a better week. Hopefully the shopping is brimming with healthy stuff. Hope you have a good weekend

RoseQuartz · 08/06/2007 21:11

Hi and thanks to everyone who wrote words of inspiration for a desperate chocaholic, coke-aholic, biscuit-aholic, cake-aholic, and I might as well finish off with 'whatever's high syn's-aholic!!! Oh god i'm just hopeless, if I carry on like I have been doing over last few days, I'll end up gaining weight rather than losing it...no doubt my consultant will be dead pleased with me - not!!
Thanks for your help, I will order home delivery shopping tomorrow and hopefully that will mean I will have tons of stuff in the house so that I won't lose interest due to not having particular ingredients for recipes etc.
To save me from having to go shopping several times a week or ordering several home deliveries, does anybody have any tips on how to keep salad stuff 'fresher' for longer? Other stuff I can freeze but what about the salad vegetables, and also what about keeping fruit at their best for several days, how best to do that? thanks everyone xxxx

RoundTheBend · 08/06/2007 21:21

Hello! I started SW on 29th May. This is the first time I have been to any club like this. I was lucky enough to lose 4lbs in my first week. Does not look as though I have lost anything so far this week but Tuesday is my weigh in day, so fingers crossed. I have put on 2st 7lbs over the last few years and would dearly love to lose it again. I have taken up walking backwards and forwards to work (inc lunchtimes) and that is 4 miles per day. I really hope to lose a good stone before my holiday in August.

hi rosequartz. try buying the debbie meyer bags from qvc: search.qvcuk.com/QVCUK/Search.ff?query=debbie+meyer OR go onto qvcuk.com and put debbie meyer in the search engine. those bags are supposed to keep fruit and veg fresh for a long time. i havent used them but have heard good reviews about them. good luck xx

Nemo2007 · 08/06/2007 23:06

Well I decided to have a complete blow out night and had a ready made curry etc. I actually feel more ready to restart tommorow from a new. Thanks all

Will catch up properly tommorow but helloooo to all who have posted and those who lurk!!

fireflyfairy2 · 08/06/2007 23:39

Welcome Indigomoon Hopefully we can all offer you some adivice & you can offer us some too

I think I was ok at the bbq. I decided to syn the spoonful of pasta & sweetcorn from earlier, so that's 4 syns I think [was leniant on the pasta as it really was only a mouthful]

Tonight I had chicken kebabs & a drumstick, a bit of steak & loads of salad. Used a HE for a few potatoes in their skins & drank diet coke & water. Made up a salad to take with me for everyone & a yummy fruit salad that went down very well

Will go a walk tomorrow, maybe 2, to make up for the meal out tomorrow night. Though we have pre-ordered & I am getting melon to start with & a veg stir fry for main So shouldn't be too bad, also I am driving

Nemo, great big hugs to you sweetheart, you have been doing so so well the past few weeks & you will get back on track tomorrow, I just know it

BigHotMama · 09/06/2007 12:12

Well done FFF2 on being angelic at the bbq I think I would have gone the opposite way, I find it soo hard to resist temptation in front of me. Its got to be my worst habit!

I have been sticking to the plan since last Monday and pleased to announce I have lost 6 and half pound so far! Am well chuffed and am off for a run in a bit with my mates, have been doing this once a week for the past 6 weeks now and can already feel my legs are toning up a bit.

Somebody asked about exercise earlier? I play squash once a week and have started doing the davina dvd workouts once or twice a week which are very tough but enjoy doing them in comfort of my own home wearing my belly warmers, sports bra and trainers - what a sight!

Good luck everyone!

andyrobo237 · 09/06/2007 21:25

Well I have another 2 days before my weigh-in on tuesday - been struggling to get to grips with the programme a bit - I seem to use all my b choices for breakfast and lunch and end up having a dull tea! I need to get the magazine to look at some sample menus to get a few ideas - or should I be using syns for meat (on green day) and potatoes (on red day)??? I am addicted to jersey royals at the moment - lovely hot with a bit of salad. And I made my own burgers yesterday - they were fab and I put my option a cheese on them!

Keep up the good work girls - I love salad for tea in these hot evenings! Do you think sugar free ice pops are free??? I hope so!

andyrobo237 · 09/06/2007 21:29

OMG I should have checked the syn value of the pizza we had for tea - it was from Asda and comes in at a whopping 58 syns for the whole thing - I had a quarter of it - so 14.5 syns for that!!!! Fortunately I had not used any syns today - serves me right for not checking before I ate it!!!

Nemo2007 · 09/06/2007 22:55

aww well could be worse andyrobo you could have eaten it all.

Well am on the first day of my no syns in an attempt to counteract the past day and a half. Its not gone too badly thanks to mullerlight and fruit..lol

Just trying to keep focused for wed as I really want to loose the 3lb for my stone.

Nemo2007 · 09/06/2007 22:56

oh and bighotmama thanks to your post I just bought a davina dvd from ebay..heres hoping it doesnt kill me

fireflyfairy2 · 09/06/2007 23:32

Hi girls

Bighotmama, I have just looked at your profile & you are stunning looking!! Your wedding dress is the same as my sisters!! [well, the straps are!]

I have been out for a meal tonight, melon for starters, veg stir-fry for dinner & pavalova for dessert [yum]

Anyone have ideas how many syns would be in pavalova? It wasn't a big piece

I used the mince from an original day and whizzed it in my mini blender, added half a red onion, half a clove of garlic, a beef oxo cube and a splash of Lea and Perrins. I then formed them into patties and presed them on kitchen roll to flatten and get any excess moisture out. I then grilled them and ate then!!! I have tried to make them before and they were a bit bland - but the whole family agreed these were fab - the only syns were the oxo cube at 1.5 shared between 3 of us!!

Has anybody ever used Adios supplements while doing SW?

Nemo2007 · 10/06/2007 15:09

Well I have just danced a jig in Evans!!!
my mum offered to buy me a top and trousers and I got a whole 2 yes 2 sizes smaller than I have been buying the past 3 yrs

felt really really good and is a big motivation booster...one day I wont HAVE to shop in evans...

andyrobo237 · 10/06/2007 20:31

Wow Nemo that is fab - I am made up for you!! You will soon be shopping in the usual mainline shops that only go upto a size 16 - but from what I have seen Evans have some lovely stuff! That is surely good motivation to keep up the good work - I hope you get your stone award this week - does your class do a Slimmer of the Month award??? Something else you could win!! Get out with your P&T and do some walking to get a few calories burnt off!

I have taken your idea of mini treats for hitting targets - I am doing a list as we speak for 5lb loss, 10lb loss and then a stone - just things like a lipstick, pedicure, cut and colour for a stone - kind of a lucky dip! We also go away on hols in 6 weeks - so want to lose a stone by then - so hopefully will lose at least 2lb this week. Planning a walk tomorrow for about 2 miles (hope it is not too hot!).

Anyone got any free lunch ideas - either red or green - dont mind salad, but it is a bit boring!

Nemo2007 · 10/06/2007 20:36

free lunch on green, the egg fried rice we have for dinner can be kept cold for next day and is quite nice.

I bought myself a nail varnish for my 7lb treat. For a stone I will buy some perfume. Also going away to centre parcs at the end of july. We went there last sept and remember feeling a little embarressed trying to get out the pedalos as I was 5mths pg with dd2 but was not obvious due to my size. So at that time I will have probably been at least 2 stone heavier than I am now.

lunavix · 10/06/2007 20:47

themildmanneredjannitor - I did your chili recipe from earlier in this thread last week and it was yum thanks

Well ladies, I'm finally in the right frame of mind. I went and weighed in on Thursday and I've put on 3.5 pounds - for no reason, I'd followed it all week bar a mouthful of light pringes on the sunday!!

I know I'd done nothing wrong so I have no idea how I put on, so I've put it down to really needing to devote myself fully to the plan, and so I have.

I need to lose around 11 pounds before I'm comfortable with my weight (I know it's not a lot compared to some but I'm really yoyoing at the moment - I joined SW in November and I got down to that in Feb and I've gone back up now )

On the up side, I'm happier now that I know two aplen lights = 1 hifi bar (is that actually confirmed?)

and the SW weetabix cake and masala curry recipes are all good too

lunavix · 10/06/2007 20:53

nemo - I can't find lunch ideas on the website?

Oh and the roast veg pizza idea off the website is yum too.
