Anyone want to join me in sorting their shit out! 2.5 stones to lose and I'm starting tomorrow.

Hi there! I've weighed in at 12st 3lb. I'll be weighing every week, otherwise I'll not stay on track

ZetaPuppis · 01/06/2018 16:46

Well done frustrated! You must be thrilled.
I’m using this opportunity to sort out some other shit in my life too. Paperwork and housework mostly. I’m also trying to be more present with my kids instead of being on the phone or doing chores and generally in the background.

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 01/06/2018 16:57

I'd like to join too - 5'6 and 11st 4 - and will be using My Fitness Pal. Would love to lose a stone...

BirthdayKake · 01/06/2018 17:34

KFC tonight and curry tomorrow, fuck...

I'm trying to minimise the damage by eating way less calories in the day. That'll work, right?!

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 18:03

Birthday maybe start Monday! Grin

Well I've had a rubbish day, had a team breakfast at work, so complete fail there. Was virtuous at lunch with fruit, but then caved and had a packet of crisps and a marathon. Will have to try upping my exercise for the rest of the week. Shall we share mfp usernames for those who are using it. Will find mine later.

Playmobilpeacock · 01/06/2018 19:11

Happy Friday evening all!

DH has just offered a take away, which he never does. And I'm trying to resist the call of the wine after a tough week.

How's everyone else doing?

frustratedashell · 01/06/2018 19:14

Thanks for the congrats 're the job. Let's hope we can all encourage each other to reach our goals

KatharineHilbery · 01/06/2018 19:39

Have kept off the wine so far. Cooking supper - oriental duck lettuce wraps with rice for carb-eaters. Had two handfuls of nuts when I was starving at 5pm. How e this hasn’t undone all the good work.

Doje · 01/06/2018 19:48

I stayed within my MFP 1200 calories, but am now out for birthday drinks. Mine too, so I'm not staying off the booze!

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 21:45

I have been really good today. I've taken myself off to bed early to make sure that I don't slip up and munch in front of the tv.

I am feeling hungry. Day 2 tomorrow, hoping it will get easier.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 01/06/2018 22:46

Most of the day was fine but I did slip up this evening and eat a big bowl of chocolate cereal after DS went to bed Blush oh well, it's still early days! Back on it tomorrow!

amaygdala58 · 01/06/2018 22:58

Well did the weigh in 1.5 stone has to be shifted. Also worked out my BMR plus what my body normally burns with current activity and the calories I need to consume to lose weight because I’m a small person computer says I need to eat about 1000 caps a day to drop Lb a week - MFP is going to like that (not) I’m only 5ft small build but overweight in fact if I relax my stomach muscles I look 6 months pregnant it’s disgusting.

Hope to lose 14 lbs by end of July am I fantasising ? Will up my activities accordingly.

notsusan · 01/06/2018 23:08

heartfelt gratitude @SlinkyB for taking on the admin burden, and thank you @greedypiglet for starting this group - I've never done slimming world or anything similar, but I can already see this feeling of accountability will help me loads.

I will also weigh in every friday if that's ok, I've become obsessed with weighing myself anyway. except my husband (the fitness fanatic in the house; I mainly go to the gym to drink lattes in the cafe) has bought scales that only show me kilograms which is bloody annoying and confusing Hmm

didn't manage to get out of lounge clothes or get out of the house today, but I did wash my hair...

good luck all!

really useful to hear when you're all eating, as I'm really unsure how the hell to go about this...

SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 23:10

RosieposiePuddingandPi I had a bowl of bran flakes before bed! I usually have supper as have dinner at about 5.30 then by 10pm I'm starving again. So hungry that I either can't get to sleep, or wake up hungry at 3am and have to go and eat then Blush

@amaygdala58 welcome! I'd say aiming for 1lb a week should be achievable. Good luck!

Just saw this on Facebook and thought it was quite funny...

SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 23:16

Hi @notsusan and welcome Smile I'm kinda regretting saying I'll do the list this week now as I'm on holiday and don't think the caravan has wifi or weighing scales! Grin Will let you all know when I get there. I'm sure I can do a list even if I'm not on it.

I love it when people write out their food diaries as gives me ideas. I think it's probably a good thing that you have never done a proper Fat Club before. I think losing weight is just down to mindset, sensible eating, a bit of exercise and lots of willpower?! So much easier typed than done tho.

I'm feeling proud as I went shopping all day today, but brought my salad and apple with me and stayed on track! I would normally have had something like a McD's, then maybe some sweets/choc on way home Halo

pigpoglet · 02/06/2018 07:56

@amaygdala58
I'm 5 ft and my bmr is 1300, does that mean I need to eat less than that to lose weight? That's miserable isn't it 😬

greedypiglet · 02/06/2018 08:05

Day 2

Morning everyone. Well it's a lovely feeling waking up today knowing that I actually managed a day without eating crap. I found it really difficult to sleep because all I could think about was food. I was so tempted at 2am to dive into the bread bin and have copious amounts of toast and Nutella.

I am meeting my son for coffee this morning so I am going to have to resist cake. I guess I am going to have to learn to say no a lot.

I hope that you all had a good day yesterday. Today can be a good day too.

OP posts:
ZetaPuppis · 02/06/2018 08:10

Good morning. I had a good day yesterday. I’ve been up since 5.40 for no reason so I hope I can stick to my plan today. Tiredness always makes me want to eat.
Day 2 here we go

notsusan · 02/06/2018 08:42

good luck at the coffee shop @greedypiglet, it's not easy to resist those cakes and treats when you can see them.

I did have a few gummy bears and a couple baclava yesterday but didn't over eat overall so I feel like it was a good (ish) day.

hoping to do better today though and NO SWEET TREATS. promised myself a gin and slimline tonic (or 3) if I can manage that until after dinner.

(Tomorrow will be hard as it's DD's birthday and we have 80+ people coming by for it. 🙏🏽 for ☀️.)

rabbitmat · 02/06/2018 08:47

Had a good day yesterday and half an hour on the cross trainer. Had porridge with banana for breakfast but going out to lunch so will need to scan the menu for low calorie options. I will be driving so at least I can't drink.

coolcahuna · 02/06/2018 08:50

Yes I'm in ! Also 5'4. Started 3 weeks ago and have lost 3/4 stone. So am now 13 stone and aiming for 11 stone.
I've been low carbing ( carbs at one meal a day but mainly rice - no bread, pasta). I'm also going to try eating those cals between 11 and 7 as I think I'm eating dinner too late.
No exercise as it makes me hungry!

SlinkyB · 02/06/2018 09:13

Welcome coolcahuna! Wow, how do you cope without bread, cereal and pasta?! I'd love to know some swaps please as my normal day is like this:

B: cereal (try to stick to Weetabix, bran flakes, shredded wheat or Ready Brek)
L: poached eggs on toast
D: pasta with the kids
Supper: small bowl of cereal!

I know I'm having way too much wheat/carbs, but don't have the time nor appetite for meat and eggs first thing (I eat with the kids round 7am). I didn't want to start cooking separate meals in the evening but can see now I'll need to if I want to lose weight.

Well done on your amazing weight loss so far! Star

Skooblies1 · 02/06/2018 09:22

Hi there can I join please? I totally need to sort my shit out but then I procrastinate and I never start. This could be a good way of me to be accountable and have many people kicking my ass!!

Narkle · 02/06/2018 09:26

Hi, can I join? Been trying to lose baby weight for months now (am still in pregnancy clothes 2 years after birth...), but have failed, mainly on the alcohol front. So I'm doing dry June to re-set myself.

I find losing weight easier in summer as heat really curbs my appetite. It's the usual - more water, less food. I don't eat crap, drink 2 sugary drinks I'm cutting down to 1 a day; I just consume too much overall.

Am exercising 30min daily anyway (cardio), so not totally unfit, but need to work on muscle mass.
