I'm sorting my shit out as from tomorrow

Anyone want to join me in sorting their shit out! 2.5 stones to lose and I'm starting tomorrow.

@cmcc22 you don't have to share but I find it helps to make me accountable. It's good for me to write it down, then see the losses on paper each week. We are the same height and I'm aiming for 10st 8lbs Smile

greedypiglet oh go on then! At least if I'm jotting down lists and calculating losses etc it'll keep my chubby hands busy?! Grin

So does everyone want to PM me their stats next Fri? You can either put start weight, loss this week, total loss...or if you don't want to reveal your weight just let me know amount lost/gained/stayed the same.

I'm actually on holiday next week but planning on being good. There never seems to be a good time to start (birthdays, Mothers Day, Easter, bank holidays...blah blah) so thought I'd crack on. Gonna be so hard to watch my family tuck into fish and chips, and ice-creams etc. But I watched that BBC1 doc the other night too and agree with them that dieting IS HARD! I've done Slimming World on/off since I was 17 and don't agree with them that it's easy, you should never feel hungry, eat as much fruit and fat free yoghurts as you want etc. For me, I have to get backto basics and listen to my body. And eating too much of anything isn't good for you.

Northend I loved your wise words.

I will NOT be weighing myself every week! Every month, perhaps. I find it demotivating week by week, as some weeks the scale barely moves.

cmcc22 · 01/06/2018 12:10

@SlinkyB I'd be happy at 10.5 as well. Haven't been below 11 since first baby 15 years ago!!!

whatdoyousayhey · 01/06/2018 12:10

I'm glad to be part of this ... it's like a free slimming world group Grin
And I agree - only share what you feel completely comfortable doing!!

Greystar · 01/06/2018 12:12

Afternoon, I weighed this morning and want to lose a stone and a half.... currently out and about so eating egg mayonnaise sandwich as it looked the least bad option it's probably worse than I hope 😬

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 12:12

Everyone say hi to Slinky, our official weight loss list girl ⭐️

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 12:14

Oh, should we just Weigh In and do a list on the 1st of every month then? What's the general consensus? Happy to go with that Smile

ltk · 01/06/2018 12:19

Less admin if once a month. Just, um, thinking of you, Slinky. Grin

So glad you posted this, Greedy. Don't know how long I would have put this off otherwise.

sola82 · 01/06/2018 12:22

Weigh in this morning 12st 2. I'm 5ft5. It seems to be all around my middle Blush

sola82 · 01/06/2018 12:24

Have exercised this morning! DS1 joined in with me- planks are fun apparently Grin

takethestairs · 01/06/2018 12:29

Thanks for taking on our thread admin Slinky. I’m going to post my weight each Friday if that’s ok even if it isn’t going onto a list until 1st of the month, as I find I let things slide given that long weigh in.

Thanks for starting this thread Greedy - I really need to do this & have never signed up to a weight loss thread or club before, so using this as my fresh start Smile

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 12:30

I'm going to log my weight every Friday but I guess a once a month list for total weight loss would be great. Decide what's easiest for you Slinky and we will all obey.

Oh and I think we should have some kind of virtual prize for the biggest loser each week. Suggestions welcome.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 01/06/2018 14:08

I weighed in this morning at 13st 4lb so around what I thought which gives me 2 stone to lose until I'm back at my lowest weight.
I've had Porridge for breakfast, a jacket potato with spinach and a bit of hummus for lunch and shedloads of water so I'm feeling good ☺
Oh and I put makeup on for work today!
Hope everyone's having a good day.

mckiwi07 · 01/06/2018 14:23

I would love to join too. 6 weeks until I go on holiday and really need to shift some weight so that I can fit into my clothes and general feel a bit more comfortable.
Starting weight 14.2!!!!!
I need to lose about 3 stone but would be happy to lose a stone before my holiday. Using mfp alongside slimming world. Good luck everyone!

ZetaPuppis · 01/06/2018 14:27

I’ve had some grapes, 1/4 apple and a chickpea and veg salad so far.
I’m going to hold out til 5.30/6 and have dinner with the kids.
My dinner will be roasted veg with a bit of brown rice.
I’ve got a small ice lolly for later. I know I said I wouldn’t snack but I’m trying to have a plan that I can stay on. I think I do need a little ‘treat’ in the evening. I figured Ice lollies aren’t too bad calorie wise.
I need to drink more water. I’ve had 3 glasses today.

KatharineHilbery · 01/06/2018 14:38

Lunch was an omelette with two eggs and some crumbled feta. Still feel hungry but there is pretty much nothing else in the house that I’m allowed to eat.

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 14:49

Rosie I put makeup on today as well. I haven't bothered for ages. The difference is outstanding!! I even did a blow dry today so I have swishy hair.

I have never been on a weight loss thread/ joined a group in real life/official diet before.
Not to say they aren't helpful, just I've always thought I could just do everything myself. It used to work
Now I've reached a pont where I'd like to push myself, and the encouragement and support will go a long way I think.

frustratedashell · 01/06/2018 15:28

Piglet, I bought some new make up about 3 weeks ago and try to wear it everyday, it makes such a difference! I've not done it everyday cos I've got depression at the moment. Having said that , I've been offered a new job today! I've accepted and it's given me a boost. It all helps you feel good about yourself doesn't it?

crispyskin · 01/06/2018 15:33

Can I join you? I've realised that I'm going beyond my personal acceptable size. My plan is at least one, if not two, exercise classes a week, walk from the train station to work, no more nipping on the tube for two stops (unless it's raining or I'm desperately late for something), less sugar, no snacking and smaller portion sizes.

I love food. A bit too much at the moment it seems.

Floralnomad · 01/06/2018 15:47

Can I join in as well please . I lost about 3.5 stone last year due to illness which was a great kick start but I’m stuck at 11 st 7 lbs , which puts in me in a normal BMI but I really need to lose at least another stone if not more . I already do 10000+ steps a day , can’t run for medical reasons . I’m going to give up my addiction to fruit gums , take up Pilates and use my wonder core machine .

greedypiglet · 01/06/2018 16:03

Frustrated well done on your new job. How exciting.

OP posts:
RosieposiePuddingandPi · 01/06/2018 16:09

That's exciting news frustrated! Congrats!
It does make such a difference making an effort, I'd forgotten how much better I feel once I've bothered to do something about it.
I have however started wearing my hair in its natural curls as of last week as it's much easier and it already looks way healthier.
