Anyone want to join me in sorting their shit out! 2.5 stones to lose and I'm starting tomorrow.

SoapyChoc · 01/06/2018 07:36

Morning,

Just read the thread and feel very inspired to join. 2 stone to lose to start fertility treatment and finding it hard to motivate myself. Going to record everything I eat on my fitbit app.

Good luck to everyone weighing in this morning ready to start.

SallySidebottom · 01/06/2018 07:36

Can I join please?
I'm low carbing from today, I need to lose about 3 stone to be pre-2 year old weight Blush

KatharineHilbery · 01/06/2018 07:40

So I’ve breakfasted on smoked salmon and drunk a pint of water. Have a yoga class this morning. Feeling as virtuous as is reasonable given that it’s not yet eight o’clock.

rabbitmat · 01/06/2018 07:57

13st 2.2 for me this morning. Haven't weighed myself in a while so quite a shock.

3boys3dogshelp · 01/06/2018 08:12

14st13lb! Exactly as bad as I thought unfortunately. I have 4st to lose and I’m not sure how I’m going to do it yet, but I am going to start today.

Sierra259 · 01/06/2018 08:24

11st 5 here this morning. Am aiming for 10st 8-9 so have 8-9lbs to lose. It doesn't seem very much, but I just haven't been able to stay strict enough to get there.

Starting today

  • Logging on MFP
  • Reduce carbs
  • No sugary snacks/drinks (I will allow a small bit of chocolate after dinner as I find giving it up completely just makes me crave and binge Blush)
  • Exercise bike every day, even if only for 10 minutes
  • As many steps as possible on the Fitbit
Bezm · 01/06/2018 08:32

Sorry folks, but wearing a Fitbit isn't going to help you lose weight 😂
I've also decided I need to reign in the fat gains, and have started to do the NHS couch potato to 5k course with my dh. We both could do with losing 2stone.
We're now on week 4, and I can run for 16 minutes with short walking breaks. Yes, it's bloody hard work, but we've improved massively over the last 4 weeks. I don't know if I've lost weight, but I've certainly lost inches! We've not restricted our diets too much, no take aways, no chips, but still seem to be eating well.
Try it, it works!

puppywithattitude · 01/06/2018 08:40

I'm starting that today Bezm.
How fit were you before? I'm starting from complete non excerciser.

Sierra259 · 01/06/2018 08:50

I'm well aware that wearing a Fitbit alone won't cause me to lose weight thank you Bezm Hmm I use it to track my general activity over time and try to maximise how much walking I do in addition to other exercise. I (like many other people) don't enjoy running and I actually can't do it now anyway due to pelvic floor issues, so I will stay active in my own way.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 01/06/2018 08:53

Hi can I join. 3-4 stone to lose and 12 0lb this morning. Aiming to cut down on snacks drink more water and make sure I do 10,000 steps a day.

puppywithattitude · 01/06/2018 08:53

Well I 've started my day with porridge in preparation for my first run.
Usually it's a Danish and a latteBlush

ZetaPuppis · 01/06/2018 08:54

I did a couch to 5k a couple of years ago. I could barely run for the bus before I started but I had been quite fit before kids.
I was amazed that I started to run 5k in 6 weeks. I’m so annoyed that I stopped running a few months ago. I really should get back to it.
I was running fairly regularly but I lost no weight. It was a bit disheartening as I though the weight would start to fall off.
I did tone up a bit my weight stayed the same. I really have to cut right back to lose weight. Sad

Playmobilpeacock · 01/06/2018 08:57

14st 3lb! About a stone heavier than I thought Sad

Oh well, it is what it is and high time I started losing some of it!

I have had coffee with coconut cream for breakfast. I need to remember to drink water instead of snacking. I don't drink water at all and I need to get into the habit.

koalab · 01/06/2018 08:58

C25k was brilliant when I did it a few years ago. I need to do it again. My fit bit really helps as it makes me much more aware of how much (or how little) activity I'm getting. And my fitness pal has really helped me appreciate how much calories I can realistically eat. But it's been a while since I've been committed enough to use it properly. Hopefully this thread will give me the kick I need.

Ninchninch · 01/06/2018 08:59

Hi, I am doing Slimming world. I didn't think it would be life changing but it really has been.
I have lost 1st 1lb so far and I have 1st left to go.
Started at 10.13lb
Currently at 9.12lb
Target is 8.13lb.

I feel great so far! Loosing weight is definitely worth it.

Good luck all.

I need a hand holding every now and then so will join in if that's OK.

SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 09:03

@Sierra259 fancy a race to 10st 8?! I've just weighed in at 11st 5 3/4 (going to round up to 11st 6lbs) and also can't run. Tried to start the C25K back in March and hurt my back, and have been paying a fortune in Osteopath appointments ever since Sad So walking and pilates it is for me.

Good luck eberyone!

SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 09:05

@Playmobilpeacock how about buying a really bright big water bottle? I have a bright pink 600ml one, and it catches my eye so reminds me to drink it!

BirthdayKake · 01/06/2018 09:07

I'm in!

I want to lose half a stone. I'm getting married 18.8.18, then going on honeymoon in September, then hopefully TTC baby number 5 so lots of motivation!

My worst things are alcohol and takeaways

lilyblue5 · 01/06/2018 09:14

Can I join? I’ve already started sorting my shit out, but have some way to go to change some very bad habits!
I have a stone to loose. (I’m not very tall so it makes a lot of difference!)
I’ve been going to the gym for the past month (3-4x a week, to classes that is)
It’s the food side of things I struggle with. I can’t stop reaching for junk food. I always reach for the unhealthy choice instead of the healthy one. I need to change my ways!
I’ve also recently given up caffeine and trying to drink more water so struggling with the mid afternoon slump!
Going to have a Banana, a yoghurt and head off to Zumba his morning.
Good luck everyone!

Cloudyapples · 01/06/2018 09:29

11st 5 and after a shitty night I started today with a chocolate brownie and Diet Coke - I need help! Hoping being on here will make me more accountable.

Ginxed · 01/06/2018 09:31

Can I join? 11st 6 3/4lb, so 11.5 st effectively. Would be happy with 10st, thrilled with 9.5st.

My plan is to try to cut out snacks or at least eat healthy snacks, cut down alcohol and move more - I did couch to 5k and need to restart it as I stopped running a while ago.

SlinkyB · 01/06/2018 09:31

Breakfast was just Weetabix and a banana and a cuppa.
Lunch will be a salad with feta, beetroot and a couple of crushed walnuts
Dinner will be homemade chicken curry and basmati rice
Snacks will be an apple and a rice cake/oat thin.

ZetaPuppis · 01/06/2018 09:34

11 st 13 lb! The heaviest I’ve been for a long time.
I’m aiming for 10st initially. I’ll be so happy to get there.
Here goes..

No breakfast for me as I think it makes me hungrier for the rest of the day. I’m going to go straight to lunch.

Sierra259 · 01/06/2018 09:36

@SlinkyB you're on! Smile. Breakfast was a bowl of Special K, planning chicken salad for lunch and prawn stir fry for tea.
