Anyone want to join me in sorting their shit out! 2.5 stones to lose and I'm starting tomorrow.

Aah, blibblibs, not to worry. I may make weekend days my refeed days anyway; there i no sustainable way on Earth I'd be able to watch and count every mouthful over the weekends when we spend so many of them in company.

So I won't bore you too much about my day, which looks pretty bad on paper, BUT I have spent the afternoon preparing the bulk of next week's meals, so that we won't have to resort to take-aways or shop-bought pizza I made pizza from scratch instead, but with spinach and garlic rather than lots of meat.

Back to no alcohol and loving my apple crumble tea in the evenings.

JustLurkingAway · 10/06/2018 16:29

I've struggled like hell this weekend. I feel like I'm so good when I'm in my weekday routine and then as soon as the weekend hits it all goes to potHmm

Anyway, healthy dinner incoming so I better get back on the wagonGrin Hope everyone's doing well!

ZetaPuppis · 10/06/2018 17:52

I struggled like hell too. Anyway, kitchen is closed now after the 2000 calories I’ve probably consumed.
I’m going to write it all down anyway.
Porridge with berries
Rice cakes with marmite
2 samosas
Grapes
Crisps and more crisps (grrr)
Chicken and potato stew with veg
A pot portion of dairy free cheesecake

I went for a long walk with a friend this morning so got a bit of exercise in. Definitely back to my routine tomorrow.

Rocinante1 · 10/06/2018 18:04

I finally got a spiraliser so I turned a broccoli stock into 'noodles and cooked them along with the florets, in garlic, chilli flakes and lemon with spray oil. It was actually so good; with 50g of roast chicken and a bit of salt. Used almost the whole broccoli and feel full up with healthy food!

ZetaPuppis · 10/06/2018 18:10

I forgot to write chocolate!

Good work Rocinante

Rainbowblume · 10/06/2018 19:34

Evening everyone. First day completed here. A gentle start.
Food, buttered roll, with a microwaved egg and a tomato and half a slice of cheese.
Lunch a salad hummus and bean wrap and a small wedge of watermelon.
Dinner 1 serving sausage and vegetable casserole with brown rice.
To drink - 1 coffee with milk. 1 tea with milk. Water.
Exercise - 15 minutes yoga. 15 minutes swim at the lake. 30 minutes walking.

DH suggested we cut carbs in the evening but I like my meals too much. I'd rather cut sweets, booze and ice cream.

I struggle in the week more as I'm either st the office where there is free food. Or home where I graze constantly on rubbish. This week I'm making packed lunches and eating them outside in the garden or on a bench.

Rainbowblume · 10/06/2018 19:38

rocinante impressive! I've often admired the spiralizers. No room left in cupboard for one. Glad it was tasty.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/06/2018 20:45

Checking back in - first time in ages I’ve tried to exercise any weekend restraint! Didn’t do too badly, I hope, although definitely went over calories on Thursday and Friday (mainly wine).

Does anyone else find the exercise tracker on MFP a bit shit? Does it improve if you upgrade to the non-free version?

notsusan · 10/06/2018 20:58

great work on the list @slinky. well done @KatharineHilbery anyone else who lost 6lb+ very impressive

I've had a bloody terrible weekend. as in, a lovely weekend at a family wedding, but a bloody terrible one for fat club 🙈, won't bother listing everything consumed (not certain I could remember if I tried) but today there was even a big mac... enough said.

back on the wagon tomorrow. I think I'll be ok starting again (unless the cake and mcdonalds have stretched my stomach or something). your words really resonated with me @stevie69 - I definitely ate more today as I was overeating yesterday.... next time I'll get back up quicker.

right, I'm off to google bulletproof coffees....

notsusan · 10/06/2018 21:02

sorry about your back @frustratedashell, it is much harder to eat well when you have good reason to feel sorry for yourself, I can totally sympathise with that

@Rocinante1 I would also be very interested to know what time you go to sleep? I struggle so much in the mornings

Rocinante1 · 10/06/2018 21:14

@notsusan

I forgot to answer that! Usually around 11ish. I'm a single mum with 2 kids and started my business when my youngest was 6 weeks old, so I was already sleep deprived and just worked whenever I could. When he got older, I carried on not sleeping much and just working. That was 5 years ago and I havnt adjusted back to long sleeps. 5 hours is plenty, look after the kids and work the rest of the time.

greedypiglet · 10/06/2018 21:22

Evening everyone

I've had a mixed weekend food wise. Yesterday I had a McDonald's, today I had ice cream but I did say no to Chinese food tonight and avoided the doughnuts that were being passed around. It's really difficult saying no to food that you love but equally if I don't say no I won't lose any weight so sacrifices unfortunately have to be made otherwise nothing changes.

Weekends are much harder to stay on track.

Let's hope that this week is good and we all stay focused on sorting our shit out. Grin

Hello all, I'm back from holiday, where I was only good for the first 24hrs Hmm Then went into "you only live once" mode. Stuck to healthy cereal and fruit for breakfast, and salads for lunch in the main, but evening meals I stuffed my face then had a few wines/ciders and late night snacks Sad

So tomorrow I start again! I really struggle with my appetite tho, it's insane and always has been. Most nights I wake up at around 2-3am with a rumbling stomach, it's so annoying.

I need at leas 8hrs sleep a night ... can't imagine living on 5 ! Or getting up at 4.30am, let alone to exercise Shock So I take my hat off to you Rocinante1.

Pamelaaa · 10/06/2018 21:52

Weigh in day for me tomorrow. Have been good all week but did have a roast meal out at lunch time. Mind you haven’t had breakfast or tea to hopefully stop it having too much impact. Feeling nervous about weighing in in the morning. Have got fingers crossed.

ZetaPuppis · 10/06/2018 22:03

Just watched The Truth About Carbs. Very timely for me. Will help me get back on track tomorrow.
It’s on bbciplayer if anyone else is interested.

Slinky welcome back. It’s hard on holiday. I’m sure you’ll get back into it now you’re back.

KatharineHilbery · 10/06/2018 22:21

Oh God, another crappo day. Muesli for breakfast. Out for lunch - salmon (good) and quite a lot of garlic bread (less good) and two glasses of wine (even less good). Dinner leftover sweet and sour pork and rice, so about a zillion calories. Back on the sodding wagon tomorrow.

SlinkyB · 10/06/2018 22:27

Pamelaaa good luck for the morning! How can you not eat breakfast or tea tho?!

Thanks ZetaPuppis Smile

KatharineHilbery the sodding wagon! Grin Your day doesn't sound bad at all? Apart from the wine and garlic bread. Don't beat yourself up about it. You lost nearly half a stone last week! You're doing brilliantly.

KatharineHilbery · 10/06/2018 22:44

I don't know ...
I don't think the six pounds were exactly six pounds of fat, more six pounds of tonsil pus.
Also I have to go to a lunch tomorrow with cold bowl food, whatever that is.

greedypiglet · 11/06/2018 08:01

Morning

Pamelaaa good luck with weigh in for you this morning.

I am going to weigh myself in a bit to see what damage has occurred over the weekend and then try and pull it back together to get a loss on Fridays weigh day.

greedypiglet · 11/06/2018 08:03

Slinky welcome back, it will be much easier for you now that you are home.

OP posts:
dragonzebra · 11/06/2018 08:21

hey everyone
not sure if it might help but I watched this video last night and it gave a useful insight into how to break bad habits (such as overeating or cravings):

I am yet to try it but will be implementing from today! Will report back!

frustratedashell · 11/06/2018 08:57

Thanks notsusan. It was very painful yestetdsy afternoon and evening, reduced me to tears. Feels much better today though. Trouble is not working at the moment means im home with food!

greedypiglet · 11/06/2018 09:48

I was brave and weighed myself after my not so good weekend and I weigh the same as I did at weigh in last Friday. I can live with that, I felt sure that I would have a gain. Hopefully will see a loss on Friday.

Be good everyone.

theedgeofthecloud · 11/06/2018 10:19

Morning all. It's been an awful 36 hours of eating. Just didn't seem to be able to stop. Bread and sugar is definitely my trigger. Yesterday's food:

Breakfast: Muesli, strawberries, rhubarb, natural yoghurt. One slice seeded bread, spread, smoked salmon.
Dinner: Fillet of sea bass fried in olive oil, jersey royal potatoes and samphire, spinach, kale, cooked in (lots of) butter and olive oil.
Snacks: (too many) bites of millionaires shortbread and bakewell tart, single scoop ice cream with flake, olives, 2 slices seeded bread with butter, marmite and tahini. 2 glasses wine. Skinny flat white.

I'm pretty sure I've gained back what I lost last week and feel like I'm back in the cycle of doing well for the first half of the week, then it all going to pot and me hating myself for my lack of willpower and disicpline Sad. However, rather than throw the towel in as i normally do, am back on it today. Hope everyone has a good week.

greedypiglet · 11/06/2018 12:38

Theedge well done on making the decision to get back on it today. You can do this.
