Anyone want to join me in sorting their shit out! 2.5 stones to lose and I'm starting tomorrow.

Did I mention coated mini ricecake? I've tried yoghurt and chocolate ones and they are rather nice. Only 76 calories for a pack of 4!

chickensandbees · 09/06/2018 16:09

Can I join? Have put on 1.5 stone in the last couple of years and struggling to lose it. Currently 11st 13.

Going to try not snacking less beige and white carbs. More veg and fruit. And more exercise.....sounds simple.

Went for a 4 mile run this morning, first one in ages!!

Dh and I went for a bike ride today, stopped at a pub for lunch and i succumbed to the burger and chips. Blush

In my defence, I did leave the bun and I drank diet coke with it. I'm.hoping the 35 mile cycle ride offset at least some of the chips .....

squidgesquodge · 09/06/2018 19:09

Can I join you? I saw this when it first started but knew I couldn't start until Tuesday as we were away for half term & then I lost the thread.
I was 11st1 on Tues & 10st13 yesterday. I never want to go back into the 11s again!
I was a stone lighter 3yrs ago having done 1200cals and C25k but gradually crept up to around 10st 6 only to pile on the weight over Xmas last year and then compound it by doing the low carb boot camp on here which was a utter disaster as I took the "high fat" a bit too seriously.
Now back to around 1200 a day which I find much more compatible with family & daily life.

squidgesquodge · 09/06/2018 19:10

Oh, and I need to start running again but I'm too scared.

ZetaPuppis · 09/06/2018 19:49

Hello new people.

I’m a bit off track today. I’ve had 2 birthday parties to attend to. They were for the kids but both had lots of food for adults. I ate quite a few Doritos and had a sparkling water. So sinner and saint!
I resisted all the cakes and biscuits etc but I just find it hard to say no to crisps and savoury snacks.

So my food for today was
Omelette
Mango
2 rice cakes with marmite
Doritos
Poppadom
Homemade Chicken curry and a bit of rice

AsAProfessionalFekko · 09/06/2018 20:09

I've just made roasted cauliflower steaks 😇
I'll report back...

frustratedashell · 09/06/2018 20:44

My bad back has been awful for the last couple of days, I did succumb to a twin finger yesterday. Doing ok today. Well done all, keep going!

Rainbowblume · 09/06/2018 21:58

Hello. Room for another? I am 12 stone 4lb. I would like to be 10stone 7 lb but more importantly to be and feel healthy. My plan is eating less rubbish and moving more. I need help and to be more disciplined. Today I had toast with marmite and fruit. A cheese and tomato roll for lunch and carrot and red lentil soup and a salmon and cream cheese roll for dinner. Then dd aged 3 had made a cake with her dad so I had a slice of that with a coffee. Tomorrow is a new day.

Rocinante1 · 09/06/2018 22:36

@Rainbowblume

You can do that! I started trying on the 20th of April, and was 12st6. Yesterday I weighed in at 11st4. I'm going to try and go steadily at 1.5lbs a week, maybe 2. Just counting calories and monitoring activity.
I joined the gym and I've never been a runner so I just walked to start with on the treadmill. But I've finished this week being able to jog at 7.5km/hr for 22 minutes! I built it up by 2 minutes each time, so on Monday I'm going for 24 minutes!

It's all about slowly building up and small changes. Do a little better each day and you'll be there in no time.

KatharineHilbery · 09/06/2018 22:38

Hello all. Not a great day today. Muesli for breakfast. Then to lunch party. 2 pieces of bread, salmon, piece of cheese frittata, green salad (dressed), cherry tomatoes. 2 glasses of champagne, 2 white wine. 2 pieces flatbread. Leftover macaroni cheese at supper time.
Agree with rainbow that tomorrow is a new day.

Doje · 09/06/2018 22:41

I feel like I have been 'hangry' the entire day today....

Rocinante1 · 09/06/2018 22:51

For me, the weekdays are much easier. I'm up at 4.30 to workout, then ready for 6 when the kids get up. We have breakfast, they go to get ready and I do housework. We hang out then off to school. I go swimming and sauna for an hour then work. Pick them up at 5 - dinner, homework, play and bed. Rinse and repeat. So ther3s routine and no time for snacking. It falls apart at the weekend. Any places we to always have fried food or chips or sandwhiches. It's hard to eat low calorie when you're going to attractions. If we stay in the house or garden, it's too easy to snack. The weekends are hard. I've been getting better though so just need to keep trying!
If anyone has any nice, low calorie picnic foods that would be amazing?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 10/06/2018 03:45

I agree that weekdays are easier. I get up, have breakfast, go to work and never snack at work. I usually take salad for lunch.

Get home, have a healthy snack, change and go to the gym, then home for dinner.

But at weekends I tend to graze and eat stuff from the fridge at random times which often means I eat quite a lot.

Rainbowblume · 10/06/2018 07:29

rocinante 4.30am? What time do you go to bed? Thanks for encouragement though. Sounds like you are doing really well

theedgeofthecloud · 10/06/2018 08:49

Morning all. Totally agree about the weekends being harder, I've found it hard to cut back, especially with DP around who eats like a horse Grin. Food yesterday was:
Breakfast/: Veggie cooked breakfast - beans, mushrooms, eggs, tomatoes, wholemeal bread. All good, though it also came with hash browns which I was going to put to one side but ended up scoffing.
Dinner: Small portion homemade tuna pasta salad - penne arrabiata leftovers with tuna, feta, olives, tomatoes.
Snack: Small roll with spread and marmite, mouthful ice cream.
Exercise: 25 length swim.

Did a healthy shop at the farm shop yesterday so will try and max out the fruit and veg intake today.

Have a good day everyone.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 10/06/2018 09:08

That's it I'm getting new scales. 8lbs in a day?? One day???

SlinkyB · 10/06/2018 09:17

@AsAProfessionalFekko if you're getting rid of your old ones, I'll have them Wink

SlinkyB · 10/06/2018 09:18

Oh, wait...did you mean you've lost 8lbs in a day or gained?! Shock either way, definitely your scales!

AsAProfessionalFekko · 10/06/2018 09:44

Lost 8lbs - I'm going back to my old analogue scales! Digital my arse...

Maybe it was all that cauliflower I ate last night (rather nice actually):

  • Slice your cauliflower into 3/4 inch slices
  • Put on baking tray
  • Brush with a mix: egg white beaten with teaspoon of olive oil, lemon and grill flakes
  • Bake at 200* for 15 mins, turn and brush the mix over the other side
  • Bake until all cooked through and browned on the outside (shoukd take another 15 mins but mine took about 25 mins)

Would be lovely with feta cheese but I had with salad, steamed veg and loads of tomatoes (which I adore). And wine.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 10/06/2018 09:45

Grill glazed = chilli flakes

ZetaPuppis · 10/06/2018 10:15

I’m really struggling today! I’ve just been for a long walk and my lovely mother in law dropped over some amazing Italian bread and everyone is toasting it for breakfast.
My main weakness is bread and I’ve identified bread as the trigger that keeps me eating. I’ve decided that I need to never eat bread to have a decent chance of losing weight and keeping it off.
Another cup of coffee it is then Sad

Cauliflower sounds nice.

frustratedashell · 10/06/2018 12:28

I decided to weigh myself this morning, I last weighed on Thursday. I usually only weigh once a week. Gutted to have put on a quarter of a pound. Not much but I felt thinner! Aaarrgghhh

blibblibs · 10/06/2018 14:24

So I signed up here on Friday and I've avoided you all cause I've been crap!
Pizza hut and ice cream yesterday and wine Friday & Saturday night Angry
But, I'm back on it today. I've had scrambled egg and grilled tomatoes for brunch and I'm not hungry yet so might have some fruit and see if that will take me through to tea time.
Today's break through came curtesy of having the house to myself and sitting about in my pants! Was a great motivator to stay away from the fridge Grin
