Came on today so I feel bloated spotty and hungry and generally like a marshmallow with legs. Not a bad day food wise pear for breakfast, carrot and hummus for lunch and then a be good to yourself meal from m&s and some popcorn as a snack. Just want my body weight in chocolate now though!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/06/2018 21:09

B: Apple & cinnamon porridge pot
L: Tuna Niçoise salad, crisps
D: Duck breast, mash, kale
3 cups of tea (about to make it 4)
Exercise: 15 min walk to nursery, Body Pump.

Tomorrow we have a cake-based meeting and I’m going out for dinner. Alcohol will be involved. Not sure that’s going to go very well!

notsusan · 06/06/2018 21:14

so true @ltk and I’ve found that there’s no temptation like being a coffee shop hopping mum on mat leave. more cake than rihanna’s fella

ok day for me today and yesterday all in all - didn't even finish the free cake (hurrah!)

also my husband ordered a takeaway this eve and I only had a little saucer of it.

do feel like I might be dropping weight from my tummy ( major problem area), but I wonder what will happen to the wrinkly skin... still, skinny and saggy still beats fat and saggy I guess Confused

@Greedypiglet I’ve had the same issue with no dishwasher. I have this horrible affliction of uber procrastination which prevents me doing straight forward things to make my life better, like arranging for someone to fix the dishwasher. ugh. washing things by hand like it’s the 90s, meanwhile ruining the manicure I got to fulfil my other promise not to slob out.

doing the same as @zeta tonight with a book and early bed. after the standard bit of mumsnetting of course Wink

cmcc22 · 06/06/2018 21:27

Hi all.

Totally understanding the sugar cravings today - I have magnums in the fridge for the kids and it's taking all my strength not to eat one. I might have to hide in bed so I don't cave!!!

Been ok today apart from having worked 10 hours without really leaving my desk - so zero exercise. Off now till Monday so will try and get moving!

ZetaPuppis · 06/06/2018 21:32

notsusan what are you reading? I’m always looking for ideas.

I’ve decided that I will not ever eat after 7pm (unless I’m out and there is cause) There is cake calling my name. But I can’t break the rules, can I?
Darn cake.

Today I had
Banana
Satsuma
Omelette
Ryvita
Lentil stew with a bit of lamb
Small bit of cake
Ice lolly

JustLurkingAway · 06/06/2018 21:34

Not been as good today as I was yesterday, very close to going over my calories on MFP and no exercise for the second day in a row. Tomorrow's a new day I suppose, hey ho.

Hope everyone else has had a good day!

greedypiglet · 06/06/2018 21:57

After my non stop eating yesterday, today has been much better.

Not long now until weigh in on Friday so I'm going to be good.

I'm off to bed now because I'm hungry and can't trust myself not to dive into the bread bin where tea cakes are lurking.

OP posts:
ClandestineAdulation · 06/06/2018 21:58

Not too bad today but not as good as yesterday!

Satsuma
3 rice cakes
Very basic salad(!)
4 cubes of Bournville chocolate (it’s usually a whole family bar so I did well)
Carrots and hummus
Veg fries and a veggie curry
5 plain crackers because I ate way too early and got hunger pangs

Still under my calories on MFP and also managed 45 minutes on my exercise bike too.

Well done to everyone else for today!

SlinkyB · 06/06/2018 22:59

Hello all! Just caught up on the thread. Reassuring to see I'm in good company and we are all HUMAN and slip up, even in week one! I'm on holiday which has gone thus;

Day 1. Monday. Was very good. Kept thinking "don't drink on holiday, you don't need to". Stick to rules (apart from a snifter of red wine).
Day 2. Am constipated all day. Continue to be good and eat a tonne of fruit and veg and drink litres of water. No bowel movement, so decide to do what always helps in that area and have a few drinks! (It helped). Dive into nuts and crisps, too.
Day 3. Feeling better, so decide life is too short to diet on holiday!! Hmm So have been picking at sweets etc (tho still stuck to Bran Flakes for breakfast and salad for lunch). Have more drinks etc Blush

So I am still happy to do The List this Friday night, if folk still want to PM me or announce on here. But I'll probably use a holiday pass (they're a thing now...hic...). I will be hitting the gym from Monday and sellotaping my mouth shut Wink

Narkle · 07/06/2018 05:15

Good morning everyone.

Slinky, holidays are the worst time to be dieting when everyone else is letting go and food coices that are healthy are so much harder to find. Enjoy yourself; if you keep an eye on things you'll still do better than if you didn't.

I've just come on here from my 30min morning exercise.
Today is day 7 of no alcohol (longest I've gone sober in a row in about a year), but yesterday was the first time I actually craved some after a rubbish day at work.
Work definitely contributes to my current weight issues as I'm so drained by the end of the day that I don't want to cook, so opt for quick and usually fairly unhealthy, even though most is still home-made.

Went on the scales yesterday and they said 10.5.8. Goodness knows how; I've been exercising daily (no change there), been eating one sandwich and drinking two energy drinks throughout the day and then only had one portion of whatever I cooked in the evenings instead of second helpings. That and no alcohol should have meant a net loss, but instead my weight has gone up again!

I'll keep going, of course, but it's just so demotivating.

greedypiglet · 07/06/2018 06:33

Good morning my diet friends.

I'm injured! I woke up around 3am busting for a wee and managed to walk into the bathroom door frame and have broken two toes. I sat on the loo weeing and crying at the same time. Luckily DD was home so she drove me to A&E where I sat for half an hour looking at a vending machine full of chocolate. Thank the lord I had no change on me. I'm home now feeling a little sore but ready to face another day of diet hell! I had better be good today, it's weigh in day tomorrow Grin

Good luck today.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 07/06/2018 06:49

Omg piglet poor you! That sounds horrendously painful, it's made my toes curl up in sympathy! Hope you're not in too much pain.

Narkle 7days of no alcohol is fab, go you. I completely get the not wanting to cook after work, I'm exactly the same and dinner in our house often ends up very carb heavy as it's quick and easy. I just don't have the motivation in the evening.

I'm up good and early today to get a few bits done before DS gets up (including browsing MN Blush) but it's given me time to get it at breakfast which is nice. 2 weetabix with oat milk so far today.

Balloondog · 07/06/2018 06:57

Morning all, is it too late to join you? I'm looking to lose almost 3 stones. I joined slimming world on Monday at 76kg/almost 12 stones. Would love to get down to 58kg/9 stones which will take me right back into the middle of the healthy BMI range for my height. I changed from a very physical job to a sedentary one at the same time I got married 7 years ago and my weight has consistently crept up since then.

Greedy I'm so sorry to hear about nocturnal adventure! Confused I hope you're felling better soon. Can you use the time you're having to sit with your feet up to meal plan and do an online shop? Or at the very least play the swooning Victorian invalid and fill up on lots of consommé and jelly? Wink

greedypiglet · 07/06/2018 07:08

Balloon yes do join us, everyone is welcome. Well done for joining Slimming World, it's a positive step in the right direction. We have weigh day on Fridays if you want to log your weight and the lovely Slinky will be doing a list of our weekly achievements. You can either PM Slinky with your weight or just log it on here.

I'm actually not in too much pain with my foot, it would appear that Codeine is fabulous stuff. Grin

cmcc22 · 07/06/2018 07:24

@Narkle I have read somewhere that if a lot of your excess calories before were wine/alcohol (which mine definitely were) it can take up to 4 weeks of cutting out/down before you loose the weight that it put in in the first place.

Don't ask me the science behind it but it's helping me with the motivation to keep going - and fingers crossed for serious results in 4 weeks

cmcc22 · 07/06/2018 07:25

@greedypiglet ouch. Hope u are better soon x

cmcc22 · 07/06/2018 07:27

We are all on a bit of a health kick in our house and my husband bought so much fruit yesterday - so I'm going to try an only fruit day today - no limit but only fruit. Wish me luck x

JakeBallardswife · 07/06/2018 07:28

Can I join? Lots to lose, sick of being fat am going to track on my fitness pal.

pigpoglet · 07/06/2018 08:37

Still in the zone .. 4 pounds down 🤗🤗

frustratedashell · 07/06/2018 09:08

My weighing day today. I've mostly been very good but have only lost half a pound. Feeling deflated!

I've hurt my back so not been as active, but even so..........

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/06/2018 09:15

greedypiglet, ouch! You poor thing!

greedypiglet · 07/06/2018 09:23

Pig that is brilliant. Well done.

OP posts:
theedgeofthecloud · 07/06/2018 10:07

Morning all.

Sorry about your toes piglet, ouch!

Yesterday was mostly good, though slightly went off track in the evening, though still managed to not let it totally derail me.

B: Half a fishcake, some cheese, 2 small easy peelers (random)
L: Cooked tomatoes, mushrooms, scrambled egg, salad leaves, beetroot, coleslaw (equally random)
D: Smoked mackerel fillets, salad, small portion pasta salad, followed by rhubarb and...bag of multigrain crisps and half a Haagan Dazs mango and raspberry choc ice Blush

Jeans still feeling looser (possibly because I haven't washed them Grin.

Had a swim this morning. Breakfast is a smoothie, lunch will be tuna/feta salad pitta. Tonight might go horribly wrong as I'm eating/drinking out but will try and stay mindful.

Some great weight losses on here which are keeping me motivated.

Playmobilpeacock · 07/06/2018 11:29

Morning all,

I'm sorry to hear about your toes piglet that must have been such a shock!

I've just got back from an aerobics class and I feel like I'm dying Blush Hopefully it will get easier.

I had a protein smoothie when I got back and I'm planning on a salad for lunch.

Temptation will come along this evening as Thursday was always take away day and my children are unlikely to let me forget Grin

amaygdala58 · 07/06/2018 11:57

Morning everyone don’t think I’m doing too bad thus far- the scales will tell tomorrow 😱 Greedypiglet sorry to hear about little accident with your toes - I had similar once but with my foot and I remember the initial was so intense I felt sick so hope you are now recovering well.

I think I’m into something with bulletproof coffee had one this morning at 7.30 and I still don’t feel hungry yet Smile
