Well done Stevie69 what an inspiration!

We had a bbq this evening but I avoided any bread and filled up on lots of grilled veg.

oldmrsbetty · 02/06/2018 19:40

Hi all! I would like to join please. 5’4” and 11 stone... I would love to be 10stone (my pre baby weight) by my 30th birthday which is in a month. Wine and crisps are my downfall!

oldmrsbetty · 02/06/2018 19:42

Just realised I’ve no hope of losing a stone in a month! Let’s say 10stone 7lb then 😂

Stevie that’s amazing. Well done.
Well done to everyone exercising today and having a good day.
I’ve had an ok day.
Chickpea salad, yoghurt and blueberries
A little bit of home made carrot cake
Apple
Small bowl of veggie rice
Ice lolly later.
No exercise though.

I did a bmi calculation today and am just in the obese range. How depressing! I’ve never been obese before.
I think I can get out of that in 2 weeks so that’s what I’m aiming for as my first target.

SlinkyB · 02/06/2018 22:54

Wow Stevie you've done amazingly! Love the before and after photos, what a difference.

A fairly good day here...

B: Shreddies and strawberries
S: banana
L: fresh veg soup
S: five Brazil nuts
D: bbq chicken (I may have had some skin) and salad...and then a burger...and a sausage and white bread roll 🙈
Supper: fat-free greek yoghurt with apple, raspberries and strawberries.

I did have a couple of Pimms this evening but with diet Lemonade.

That's not too bad is it?!

ZetaPuppis I would be hungry eating that little all day.

Narkle · 03/06/2018 07:18

I've been on the scales this morning and want to cry. 10.2.6, which, at my height, puts me in the overweight category by about 5lbs - no wonder my extremely slim DD called me fat and the kids I teach (and some staff) constantly assume I'm pregnant. I carry all my weight on my belly and upper legs.

So the first aim is to be in the normal range again - should be about 2 weeks - then lose the first stone, which would allow me to fit into some pre-pregnancy clothes again.

Yesterday's food was
-1 slice of toast with cheese, 1 energy drink
-2 slices of bread with 2 rashers of bacon, lettuce and a few tomatoes, 1/2 small bag of crisps
-1 large home-made iced vanilla latte (lots of ice, coffe granules, 3tsp vanilla sugar, some vanilla essence, 1 glass of milk)
-BBQ: far too much meat, but less than normal due to filling up on lots of salad and only 2 slices of home-made garlic bread
-a shedload of water

So all in all not a particularly good food day, but not as bad as feared.

35min cardio this morning, which just about worked off the compulsory energy drink. I'm far too addicted to the stuff, but will cut down to only one of them a day and none by the time the next holiday rolls around. I don't want to substitute with coffee either as I don't want to have to fork out on tooth whitening every 6 months.

2 days of no alcohol completed, too, on day 3 today.

BirthdayKake · 03/06/2018 07:43

Sorry to hear that, Narkle. How old is DD? That's not a nice thing to say at all!!

I often drink one energy drink a day and still fall asleep on the sofa after lunch but I buy the sugar free ones ... Could you try that? A pack from Asda is about £2 I think

rosetintedview · 03/06/2018 07:44

I know I'm a bit late to the party but can I join you all please? I've been losing/gaining the same stone and a half since dd was born 2 years ago and it's ridiculous.

I know what I need to change - my main issues are having tea & biscuits instead of a proper breakfast because I "don't have time" and then the evenings are a killer - once the kids are in bed I've a habit of reaching for the junk food.

It needs to stop!

greedypiglet · 03/06/2018 07:44

*Day 3
*
I woke up last night with a monster headache, I guess my body is adjusting to the sugar withdrawal. I took two paracetamol extra with caffeine which kept me awake all night so I'm feeling grumpy from lack of sleep and I'm knackered.

I need to go to the supermarket today but I'm writing a list and will stick to it so I won't be bringing any chocolate or cake home with me. This should greatly reduce my shopping bill.

Good luck today everyone, let's all be good Grin

Scales just now say I'm 12st 2 😭

greedypiglet · 03/06/2018 07:52

Rose welcome to fat club.

I am the same as you eating junk food in the evenings. I am trying to distract myself with a little princessing so last night I painted my nails and the night before I sat in front of the tele with a face mask on. Tonight I'm on eyebrows!

Good luck

Hello
Am I too late to join? I've only just seen this thread.
I have put on over a stone in weight in the last year, just got into bad habits I think. I'm 5'5" and currently weigh 11.04. I need to get back to 10 stone. I'm.in my 50s and find it much harder to lose weight now than I did even a few years ago.
I try to eat low carb anyway and am pretty good about not eating bread, cakes, biscuits etc. But not so good about nuts, cheese and olives!
I'm.about to meet friends for a 25 mile bike ride, my biggest challenge will be to stop myself from raiding the fridge when I get back.....

rosetintedview · 03/06/2018 08:01

Princessing sounds like a good distraction piglet - bit tricky to scarf half a tube of Pringles when you've got wet fingernails I guess! 🤔

greedypiglet · 03/06/2018 08:05

Hi Emma welcome. Good luck today. Do not open that fridge door!

OP posts:
nodtik · 03/06/2018 08:05

Me too..... please can I join in!

Wedding in October!

Today I weighed 10st 6lbs

Would love to be 9st 10lbs

Shortie at 5'4"

Downloaded Lose It App ..... wonder if that will give me motivation xx

greedypiglet · 03/06/2018 08:07

Rose, don't be daft. Who eats half a tube of Pringles? It's the whole tube for me Grin

BirthdayKake She's nearing teenage-hood, so knew what she said was inappropriate, but she has Asperger's, so sometimes things like that slip out without thinking.

I try to avoid sweeteners. They mess with hormone levels inside the body and I'd end up craving more food, plus I can't stand the taste.

Bacon sandwich morning. I'm ditching one of the two slices of bread and will not have sauce. Baby steps.

Does anyone else find it a lot easier to lose weight when their DPs aren't around? I sometimes feel like I have to cook high fat/ high cal food as otherwise he moans about starving all the time. I found it a lot easier losing weight when I was single and could cook whatever I wanted...

BirthdayKake · 03/06/2018 08:38

I feel your pain Narkle. I have an Asperger's son and he's very... Blunt. We went to a party yesterday and before they set up the food he said "What kind of party is this with no food?!" Luckily no one heard...!

My ex was like that re high calorie food, BUT DP also wants to lose a few pounds and isn't fussy with food at all so he's been happily eating the Slimming world meals. It has made it MUCH easier, I'm not going to lie!

KatharineHilbery · 03/06/2018 08:49

Another good day yesterday. No wine. Dinner was aubergine and tofu miso kebabs. Then was awake for hours in the night with an excruciating sore throat and raging headache - really don’t feel like breakfast this morning, which is maybe no bad thing.

rosetintedview · 03/06/2018 09:13

piglet 😂 well yes but dh insists I share the Pringles for some unfathomable reason!

narkle I'm the opposite to you - if dh and the kids weren't here to give me a reason to cook proper meals then I'd live on a diet of cheesy marmite pasta and sharing bags of kettle chips!

rosetintedview · 03/06/2018 09:14

Feel better soon katharine 💐

Ginxed · 03/06/2018 09:37

Morning all! I'm doing badly on the alcohol front, but it is the weekend! I had wine on Friday and Saturday, but I have been good on 'no snacks' front. Once I'm back at work tomorrow it'll be no wine on weeknights as DH and I have got into a bad habit of 'just one glass' every night Shock

SlinkyB · 03/06/2018 09:42

Morning all Smile

Narkle my dh is old fashioned in that he wants meat and two veg type dinners most nights. Or a huge bowl of pasta. Basically, he and our two boys are slim and can eat what they like, whereas I just have to look at a toastie and gain a lb Angry For a while I was all "I am not going to eat different meals to the rest of the family as it's a faff, and it might give the kids issues to see their Mother eating salad when they're tucking into pasta".

Then I gained 10lbs Grin So sod it, salad it is.

But yeah, would deffo find it easier if I lived on my own. Would prob do Slim Fast in all honesty. I actually love healthy food and wouldn't buy bread, biscuits and crisps etc if I was alone.

Excuses excuses haha!

Has anyone tried the Virtual Gastric Band app? I'm seriously considering downloading it (£6.99). Might help me on holiday.
