Anyone fancy starting 16 8 tomorrow?

I'd love to lose 2 stone and change my username. I found 5 2 too hard to stick to and LCHF very effective but I get bored quickly and I love pasta. Courgetti just isn't really hitting the spot. Currently 11 stone 11lb, height 5ft7. Hope someone will join me to see if this will work. Smile

Yes I'm thinking if doing the 16-8 I think it sounds more manageable to me and I don't ever really feel like eating breakfast. I'm more of a snacker in the evenings. I'm hoping to lose a couple of stone and get more energy.

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 12:02

Great. I'm going to do 12.30pm - 8.30pm. I will miss my breakfast and my after dinner wine but something has to go...

Yes I'm going to do similar time always and yes I'm dreading cutting out snacks and wine but as you say needs must. I'm sure we can do it!

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 12:23

Ok to start tomorrow? I need a bit of policing!

Yes fine for tomorrow. Think I will need policing too! Sure we can do this though.

MamaTT · 18/04/2018 12:29

I'll join! I did 16:8 for a month at the beginning of the year and it was really working and I had tons of energy and no cravings. The first few days without breakfast were tough but it just became habit after the first week. Fell off the wagon when my stepdad was in hospital and later passed away. It was a 3 hour round trip to the hospital and my breastfed DD had to tag along to each visit which made it twice as hard. Ended up just grabbing whatever, whenever.

I'm going to do 12pm-8pm. Ill go for a long walk in the morning after the school run and then aim to get home at 11.30 to do lunch for 12.

Keel · 18/04/2018 12:32

Brill. We can all support each other. I'm really hoping to get some energy back from doing this as I feel like a zombie at the minute.

Keel · 18/04/2018 12:33

Great to hear it works MamaTT and condolences for your loss x

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 13:37

Sorry to hear about your stepdad MammaTT. Great that 16 8 works. How strict were you in the 8 hour window?

I have started doing this in conjunction with the Blood Sugar Diet. Today is day 3 and it is going well so far.

Like a lot of people I find eating breakfast stimulates my appetite and then I want to eat all day. I have been having hot drinks in the morning and then I break my fast between 12-2pm. Dinner is normally around 6pm and no food after 8pm.

Apparently you can have up to 50 cals without it having an effect. This would allow for a splash of milk in tea\coffee if you need it.

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 16:22

I would try the blood sugar diet but I know I'm too greedy for 800 calories a day. Blush

Are you allowed unlimited drinks. Just worried about my morning coffee as I need it to function. All set for tomorrow.

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 18:40

I'm no expert but I think so, within the 8 hours. In the 16 hours unlimited calorie free drinks or a couple of coffees or teas with a dash of milk as belinda mentioned...

I have been doing this for a while now, a two week all inclusive holiday has just thrown me completely off but I have started again this morning!!

I find it super easy to be honest, don't eat anything after 8 pm and then dose myself up with black coffee until lunch time

MamaTT · 18/04/2018 21:38

I was eating around 1200 calories in the 8 hour window. Two 500 cal meals and a 200 cal protein shake in between. I'm breastfeeding a very hungry baby and don't really have much weight to lose so don't want to drop the calories too low.

Tomorrow's plan is:

Water water water water water in the morning and hope I don't piss my pants on my walk up the mountain.

12pm: chicken and veg stir fry with loads of beansprouts and a very small amount of rice

3pm: protein shake

6pm: courgetti bol with brocolli, spinach and peas

Ledkr · 18/04/2018 21:47

I'll join. I did this before the easter holidays and it was working.
Easy on work days as I just had drinks (Black) until I could stand it no longer and ate a good lunch then dinner.
On non work days I did housework, shopping etc to distract me then had a nice brunch.
Been cutting back this week but god it's hard.
I could do with shifting 2 stones at least. Confused

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 21:48

I'm not going to count calories but I imagine around 1500 as factoring in two glasses of wine with dinner. I realise this may not really work in which case I will have to rethink but I'll keep you posted.

I do unfortunately wake up hungry

alwaysonadiet1 · 18/04/2018 21:55

Me too, born hungry.

I’m in!
I’ve been doing 16:8 since Sunday. I’ve been doing 8pm - 12 midday so far so good. I usually have about 3 cups of coffee or tea to get me through to lunch plus loads of water.
Anyone know when you start to see it working? I’ve got about 1.5 stone to lose.
Good luck everyone.
I read The Obesity Code and this got me motivated plus a few Jason Fung YouTube videos to get me motivated.

alwaysonadiet1 · 19/04/2018 09:01

I've started! Feeling very positive this morning and the weather is perfect too. Smile

Weighed in this morning at 9 stone 12. Would like to get to 9 stone 7. Had a cup of tea and copious amounts of water this morning. Now hiking up a mountain with baby in sling. Factoring in a stop for a feed for her, I should be home at midday where chicken stir fry awaits me. I'm starving😭

alwaysonadiet1 · 19/04/2018 09:09

We have friends coming for dinner tonight but shouldn't be a problem as they have a two year old so we are eating at 6.

Could you have another tea when you stop Mama? Well done for doing this while bf.

Please may I join? The sun has come out, the layers of clothes come off and the layers of flab must too.

I've been losing weight for a year. I lost 12lb.. and gained 14. Just weighed in at 12.0.4, which is huge for me. My main goal is to lose 2 stone but my emergency goal is to be able to sit down without my jeans sliding down, my t- shirt riding up and a very unattractive 6 flabby, stretch- marked inches being shown to the unsuspecting public. Yuck.

I think this may work because I am keen to cut down on evening wine and snacking. I like the idea that nothing is denied but once the clock strikes x, calories in whatever form, are denied until 16 hours later.
