So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

Hello lovely people and welcome Twoo

Well done on all your weekend virtue. Mine was ok

Welcome twoo and congrats on your loss so far.

Hairspray Flowers great news on the job. Be kind to yourself. That's a lot of changes all at once.

Bad news here after my week of hibernation. I'm back up to 10 10.8 which seems to be my new go-to weight when I take my eye off the ball.

Still the sun is out, most of the snow is gone and I'm back on it today Halo

Feezles · 05/03/2018 10:11

Hi, Twoo - welcome!

Hair, that must be really strange. Sending hugs.

I was almost a whole pound up today, which I richly deserved after yesterday. But Fitbit tells me it is still 0.5lb down on last Monday, so I'm taking that as a win. I've got another 6 days to work on that average! Although I really need to make the most of the week days, because it's going to be a tricky weekend as the inlaws are here. I'll need to put some thought into making sure we have nice food that is still diet friendly, plus DH and I will be off out for Date Night (can I manage the cinema with no popcorn? It would be a first!). And there will be wine - but to be fair, there is most weekendsSmile.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/03/2018 10:51

Oh Hair it'll all take some getting used to Sad

Aww hair, that must have been tough, I hope you’re doing okFlowers

It’s nice to have a Monday weigh in and think you’ve 6 days to turn it around isn’t it feezles? Although in my case I was a lot lighter last Monday but to be fair that was after my strep throat and serious antib dosage. I’d take a higher number on the scales and feeling so much better than a false low and a feeling of death! It’s going to be a good day😬

lastqueenofscotland · 05/03/2018 12:27

Hair glad you had a birthday weekend in the end!
It's rough isn't it. When my ex came to get his stuff last year the look of the flat afterwards properly shocked me Sad

HairsprayBabe · 05/03/2018 12:37

It made me realise how little stuff he actually had! He basically left with a knotted hanky on a stick!

He has left the telly and xbox for now, but will take them back when we get rid of the house properly, he doesn't need them at his mums and it would be really annoying if I had no TV for a few weeks!

HairsprayBabe · 05/03/2018 14:11

Just got my for my new job
March 14th ShockShockShockShockShockShockShock
So much so sort and basically NO time at all to do any of it!

HairsprayBabe · 05/03/2018 14:11

*My start date

Twoo · 05/03/2018 14:52

Kiki’ I am gluten intolerant, was pre diabetes and quite fat Grin, so needed to change my diet.

I went for low carb, moderate protein and high fat. Also I don’t drink alcohol anymore as unable to metabolise it (post menopause). I must say I feel great on this woe.

Cravings have gone and have more energy than I did.

Twoo · 05/03/2018 15:00

Thank you for the warm welcome ladies. You’re a friendly bunch Flowers

BitOutOfPractice · 05/03/2018 15:28

Twoo that sounds like a really sustainable healthy plan! Basically what I do though I haven't given up booze

Hiarpray lists' Lists are what you need. You'll get it done.

I'm soooooooo hungry today. Just eaten a couple of oat cakes with a coffee to try and stave it off

OP posts:
Twoo · 05/03/2018 16:15

I find I can sustain this woe Bit’. I realise it won’t suit everyone but it certainly suits me Grin. I don’t much care for cake or sugary/processed foods anyway, so not much of a loss.

I’ve just had a lovely coffee with double cream. Delish 😋 and I’m sure the fat in the cream assists in keeping me satiated and my appetite in check.

Twoo · 05/03/2018 16:15

Where are the lists please?

BitOutOfPractice · 05/03/2018 16:26

I meant that Hairspray needs to make lists of all the things she needs to get done

OP posts:
Twoo · 05/03/2018 16:32

Oh I see Grin

Not2bObvious · 05/03/2018 16:37

I thought I was missing some secret content there with talk of lists haha! I’m a huge fan of lists, now I have no memory capacity anymore. Got my 10,000 steps in by walking to the shops, slow slushy journey that was, and then brought kids to the local SC for a potter. Looking forward to sausage/mash/gravy/Yorkshire pud for dinner. Back to reality tomorrow, at last!

Feezles · 05/03/2018 16:58

I love a good list. DH and I started using Wunderlist recently, so now I can share all my lovely lists with him. He is so pleased hahaha.

Twoo · 05/03/2018 17:00

Not’ I love a good list I do Grin

Twoo · 05/03/2018 17:21

‘Wonders what Wunderlist list is’

BitOutOfPractice · 05/03/2018 17:47

I use remember the milk and I have my Alexa linked up with it so I can add items by just shouting at her!

Welcome Twoo.

I’ve tried every diet ever invented except low carb high fat so last Thursday (cos it was the 1st of the month) I started on that one. So far so good but missing the chocolate.

Well done to everyone. I’ve not posted much but have been reading every day. I’m still trying to get rid of the Christmas gain 😊

Kikisdeliveries · 05/03/2018 18:06

Sounds good twoo. Not enjoying cake etc makes it easier I imagine, although there's always cheese...

I'm trying to up my protein which really just seems to mean lowering carbs and upping fats in reality. I'm also remembering how Mfp doesn't differentiate between 'good' and 'bad' fats - I want it to know it's all from nuts/eggs etc not from biscuits! It keeps judging me! I think that's why I can't stick with it for more than a few days a month.

Kikisdeliveries · 05/03/2018 18:07

Cross post with poorpaws! Go us!

Feezles · 05/03/2018 18:16

Can we have a quick show of hands? If you calorie count, do you eat your exercise calories:

  1. always/usually
  2. sometimes
  3. never/aim for never

I'm aiming for never but I've eaten them all today because I was really hungry.
