So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

It's my friends wedding at the end of the month so really determined to be back in the 9s by then.

QuimReaper · 01/03/2018 12:46

lasty I was fantasising about Bailey's hot chocolate yesterday, may do that on Sunday!

TV I'm seeing how it goes with regards to whether I'm going to get out today - I figure if anything gives us a pass on steps, it's the actual threat of chilblains and broken bones...! I agree it's frustrating though. It looks much worse today than it did yesterday in London.

Hairspray I've been thinking about your "Monday Morning Weight" thing. I keep saying I'm at goal weight (when I am that is, not right now), but I'm only at it at the end of a Golden Week. I think it would be a good idea for me to drive it down a kilo or two further to be at goal the majority of the time, not for an hour or two once a week Hmm

HairsprayBabe · 01/03/2018 13:04

Yes Quimmy that is the point really I want to be that weight most of the time, maybe slightly lighter at the end of the week, a lb or 2 heavier after a big night out but generally, that is want I want to weigh.

That is the issue with daily weighing I am so rarely the same weight 2 days in a row but i go off the rails if I don't do it! Catch 22!

I also don't want to be one of those people who loses all this weight, goes mad and then gains a 2 stone back in the first month "off" the diet. I really need to work out how I am going to maintain (other than the gym obvs Niki!)

But looking at past history it will probably take me another 3 months to reach that final goal!

twinkledag · 01/03/2018 13:21

Happy birthday Judge!

Starting the month at 10st 12.

ponygirlcurtis · 01/03/2018 13:52

Thanks for the new thread BOOP. Smile I was far too cold to weigh in the nuddy this morning so will try again tomorrow. We're on our second snow day with another tomorrow so very little activity here and too much eating for warmth.

TV that's brilliant, I remember how frustrated you were when things didn't move for ages but you kept at it and look what happened! Well done.

Happy birthday The realJudgeJudy - very impressive gym-going, especially if you haven't been well. Hope you are feeling all better now.

I am off to jump around in the snow with DS2 for a bit. Hate the cold but apparently you burn more calories as your body has to work to keep you warm so maybe I will go out in shorts and t-shirt! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2018 14:07

BTW I hope you noted the time I started this new thread! I woke up, looked at my phone for the time (why do you need to know the time in the middle of the night?),saw it was 1st and thought "shit" new thread!" Grin

is anyone else struggling not to eat all the things in this weather?

Thanks for the new thread BOOP. I thought you'd been having another all night party you rebel Grin

My March hasn't exactly started as I wanted it too. Was so cold and hungry at work. I may of had a cadburys crème egg and some snack a jacks for breakfast Hmm

I have however traipsed out at dinner and got myself a new fit bit. Sod off snow and ice so that I can use it!!

Also ordered a new sports bra Smile

QuimReaper · 01/03/2018 14:20

Wowzer BOOP I didn't notice that - your dedication is an inspiration to us all Grin

Ofthread · 01/03/2018 14:23

Thank you for the new thread Flowers. I've been reflecting that this sort of thread on a forum is exactly the sort of thing that people need to be able to lose and maintain weight loss. It makes you accountable and it's free, unlike SW and WW etc. I was thinking about this after seeing that there are quite a few people on the thread who are at or very near a goal weight. So, I think you are all very clever is what I'm saying!

I've weighed in today at 10 stone 4. That's 3 pounds off for February. If I lost 7 pounds in March I would be well into the nines, but still more than 9 stone 8, which is what I was this time last year Shock. Have been to gym today and will need to brave two long walks in the red zone before the day is out.

Well done to you losers and maintainers!

IheartCaptainHolt · 01/03/2018 14:32

Thank you for the new thread BOOP.
I'm starting this month at 13st 3 so looking forward to getting into the 12's. Not quite sure of goal weight yet, 11st 12 would be 5 stone lost but not sure if that's unmaintainable. I'll decide nearer the time.

Another snow day for us and I feel a chest infection brewing. Made gingerbread men with DS1 and I've had four already! Hey ho, I'll make better choices the rest of the day.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2018 14:41

Starting the month at 11 st 0.2 pounds. That pesky 0.2 pounds WILL NOT BUDGE this week to get me down to the 10s.

There is no way I'll lose 7 lbs this month (I only have 11 pounds to go before I reach target and if I remember correctly, this is the point when weight gets really difficult to shift). And also I have a lot of socialising to do ...

Will aim for 10 st 10 by the end of March then that will leave me just half a stone to go.

Chardonnay73 · 01/03/2018 16:17

Hello hello from a (finally) snowy Staffordshire!! I'm still on it. Hit goal in December but obviously had a bit of a blip over Xmas and it took me until mid Feb to get those 5 lbs off. Blush
But been back on it since then and lost another 3lbs, 1lb to go to my Tenerife target (13 days to go !!) so hoping I'll get under 12.7 to negate the damage Boop and I will do in our 4 day extravaganza of eating and drinking Blush
I've realised my dieting pattern is 'blitz for a few weeks, maintain for a few'
I just can't constantly diet to see a loss every week, I'm far more likely to fall off that way.
Anyway, good to be back and going to read back to see how you're all doing!

BzyB · 01/03/2018 16:44

Hello :)

I’m a good bit heavier than the rest of you but I’m bf so 7lbs is still the max I’m looking to lose this month!

Currently 16st 2 😳 ( with pjs on)
End goal 11st 2 ( with pjs on Grin )
No plan yet - thinking maybe slimming world or just MFP. I’ve had success with both in the past but every pregnancy I pile on the weight again! I’ve been binge eating this time. A lot. Really have to knock that on the head.

Started off very determined this morning - plain porridge and some fruit for breakfast. Was shopping in town and temptation for cheap chocolate/fizzy drinks etc was really tough. Even almost had a kfc rice box but managed to wait til I got home for planned lunch.... but ended up having 4 slices white toast with egg instead as was running late! Ffs.

I need to prep more meals in advance as this kinda thing seems to happen a lot - I hate cooking!

BzyB · 01/03/2018 16:45

Oh, also we are planning a holiday to Italy in August so the thought of my wobbly bits in a swim suit should be enough to motivate me...

Kikisdeliveries · 01/03/2018 17:08

I'll dig out my banjo and tutu for the cabaret!

Beginning of the month = Mfp food logging for me. A few days of it seems to reset me a bit and makes me more good aware. My plan is to push up my protein intake I want to try out making my carbs, fat and protein levels more or less equal and this definitely isn't what's happening at all, carbs and fat are always higher.

I'm not really looking for losses right now, I'm having fatigue and other issues looked into and having had the worst things now ruled out (phew) I want to focus on trying the macro balancing thing.

I've only just thought of doing this so won't really be able to get started properly until I next go shopping.

Kikisdeliveries · 01/03/2018 17:39

Welcome Bzb! Planning definitely helps - rushed meals when hungry tend to be most likely to be the worst. Toast is often my downfall.

Kikisdeliveries · 01/03/2018 17:40

BzyB I mean! Phone app involves remembering things...

QuimReaper · 01/03/2018 17:54

CHARD! Welcome back, good to see you! Blitz, maintain, creep seems to be my pattern too. I did manage to make a consistent effort whilst I was losing the weight last winter, and drove it down by a few lbs a month in slow and steady fashion, but I too was thrown by Christmas.

Ofthread I agree about this kind of thread. Obviously it's perfectly possible to let it drop off your TIO and vanish, but for me having it always there rumbling away helps keep me focused, and stops the half-hearted fannying I did for aaaaages when I first got tubby.

Welcome BzyB! There are a couple on this thread who've lost around 5 stone, so they can stand as a reminder that it definitely can be done! Don't worry about not having A Plan as such just yet: you'll probably end up trying a few things out before you hit on a winner.

So I just went out in the blizzard! I told myself I was just going to the shops and would probably come straight back but once I was out I decided to do a bit of a circuit. It was OK for some of it but at other points it was a real trial, with a real howling wind blowing ice into my eyes. I felt very virtuous stomping along with my new roasting trays walloping my shins.

It was worth it though - was at over 9K steps, I didn't think I'd get anywhere near that! So I had an Options hot chocolate to reward myself Smile I never normally do that, but after my ordeal, a peppermint tea just wasn't going to cut it.

Got a gorgeous smelling leeky chicken soup in the slow cooker, perfect icy day food. Yum.

slightlysoreboobs · 01/03/2018 19:15

Quim I’d love to be part of a cabaret act!!

Today’s been good - treadmill run this morning then went sledging with the kids so I’ve done about 10000 steps. Stuck to my food plan - I’m finding it easier to put into mfp what I’m going to eat and then I don’t have to think about it, I just eat The Thing - apart from when I was making kids tea. They wanted pizza for a treat and I was making my tea after I’d fed them. I gave into temptation and had a little slice BUT I scanned the barcode thing, worked out what 1/8 of a pizza was and accounted for it. It’s much more like me to think “sod it” and just stuff my face so this is really good!! I’ve finished on 1263 cals and I am actually not eating any more. I think I’ll have a bath and put a face mask on so I can’t eat!

TheDonald · 01/03/2018 19:50

Checking in a bit late to the party this month.

Happy birthday Judge - sorry to hear you've been in hospital. And well done to all the losers!

I started February at 10 10 and ended at 10 8. I was aiming for 10 7 and was there at the weekend but a few days of hibernating and eating crap has pushed me back up. Still 2lb off in 4 weeks which is fine at this stage - especially because I've been injured most of the month and not able to run (or walk some of the time!)

I'd like to get down to 10 5 by the end of March and get my running fitness back at the same time. No major socialising planned - just struggling to beat the sugar cravings in this cold weather. Plus it's hot cross bun season - worse than Christmas for me!

I'm off to look at holidays for Easter. Would love a cheap week in the sun.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/03/2018 06:29

Morning all! And welcome to the newbies!

Weighed in at exactly the same as Monday, so at least I haven't gained. Have had a tough week workwise, and my commute has been nightmareish with the snow, so that hasn't helped things. But onwards and downwards!

Feezles · 02/03/2018 07:33

0.4lb down today - 12st 10 exactly. So close to seeing 12st 9! But I'm still really pleased, it's a new low for me. My average is showing a 0.6lb loss for the week, hoping for a good weekend to bump that up a bit!

slightlysoreboobs · 02/03/2018 08:02

8 st 13!!!!!! Grin
