CHARD! Welcome back, good to see you! Blitz, maintain, creep seems to be my pattern too. I did manage to make a consistent effort whilst I was losing the weight last winter, and drove it down by a few lbs a month in slow and steady fashion, but I too was thrown by Christmas.
Ofthread I agree about this kind of thread. Obviously it's perfectly possible to let it drop off your TIO and vanish, but for me having it always there rumbling away helps keep me focused, and stops the half-hearted fannying I did for aaaaages when I first got tubby.
Welcome BzyB! There are a couple on this thread who've lost around 5 stone, so they can stand as a reminder that it definitely can be done! Don't worry about not having A Plan as such just yet: you'll probably end up trying a few things out before you hit on a winner.
So I just went out in the blizzard! I told myself I was just going to the shops and would probably come straight back but once I was out I decided to do a bit of a circuit. It was OK for some of it but at other points it was a real trial, with a real howling wind blowing ice into my eyes. I felt very virtuous stomping along with my new roasting trays walloping my shins.
It was worth it though - was at over 9K steps, I didn't think I'd get anywhere near that! So I had an Options hot chocolate to reward myself
I never normally do that, but after my ordeal, a peppermint tea just wasn't going to cut it.
Got a gorgeous smelling leeky chicken soup in the slow cooker, perfect icy day food. Yum.
