So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

I'm annoyed with myself. Was half way down a mug of tea when I remembered I hadn't weighed myself this morning. I woke up to a crying toddler who just wanted to go downstairs and see her grandma, so in a sleepy fog just took her. Just deciding whether to do it now or not. I haven't had anything else and I would now be weighing a lot later, so perhaps they'll cancel out? I suppose I will all even out tomorrow either way but still. What an idiot!

TheDonald · 04/03/2018 08:51

Feezles I would weigh now and just take around 0.2lb off. Or weigh now and have a nice surprise tomorrow!

I'm not weighing today because I don't want to know! Apparently my body thinks a 2hr run in the snow after not really running for a month means I need to eat at least 4000 calories. I am sat here starving trying to hold off having my breakfast until after 9.00 because I know if I have it before then I'll need my lunch at 11 and my second lunch at 2.

What's everyone up to today? I'm planning some DIY and possibly sledging later if I can find a child to take with me! No batch cooking because my DIY to do list includes oiling my worktops so it will be microwaved past batch cooking for both meals today.

twinkledag · 04/03/2018 08:55

I've had 24 hours off and now back on it Smile

Kikisdeliveries · 04/03/2018 09:50

I'm heading out for a run shortly, not breakfasting first as it burns loads more fat! My running is pretty crap when fasted but I'm not looking to win any speed prizes.

Eggs on toast and coffee when I return.

Then I must revise for s mock exam.

And batch cook.

Later I have a training session.

Covering all angles today!

slightlysoreboobs · 04/03/2018 09:54

I’m not weighing today - had the evening off last night, massive delicious Mexican dinner and a big glass of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Back on it today and will weigh tomorrow.

Feezles · 04/03/2018 10:05

Well, I weighed and I was 12st 10. Lost three quarters of a Linda this week, so not amazing but I'm happy enough with it considering I had AF and a day of snow induced over eating.

The scales flickered onto 12st 9.9 but didn't stay there. Next week!

Not2bObvious · 04/03/2018 10:25

Well done feezles, I think to have lost anything this week is a great achievement. I know if I was off plan and in feck it mode, I could be up at least 2lb. The averages are saving my sanity cause I’m heavier than last Sunday.
kiki your plan sounds impressive, still not possible to run here and I’m currently lying in bed after inhaling tea/buttery toast/couple of biccies. I need to get to the shops as I’m hoping my friend is coming to stay. That’ll get a couple of thousand steps in, not risking taking the car out.
TheDonald I know what you mean about holding off to eat, on normal weekends I try to hold off breakfast so it’s more brunch. But all bets are off in this weather. I really need to get up...

FreeNiki · 04/03/2018 10:52

Seem to be the same on the scale today.

Had a NSV though. Size extra small leggings in sweaty betty fitted me. I wanted a little bit more give though for exercising so I bought a small but I could easily have got away with the XS.

Suffering a bit today with a sore throat.

Not2bObvious · 04/03/2018 11:24

Are you trying to lose weight now Niki or maintain? Cause if you fit into XS sweaty Betty’s you must be tiny! I hear their sizing is really on the unforgiving size, I’d be wearing them inside out so everyone knew😉

FreeNiki · 04/03/2018 11:30

Not2bObvious I'd like to lose a bit more. Go down to 60kg. However the PT at the gym thinks I should gain weight as in build muscle and I will still look smaller. I canr decide.

I haven't really decided. I am not that light. I fluctuate between 61-62kg. However I think I look smaller than my weight because I have been doing some weight training and building muscle which is leaner than fat.

If I'd gone down to my current weight just by dieting and no exercise I doubt Id look like this.

It was quite a good feeling as a year ago I looked fat in a medium at sweaty betty.

Not2bObvious · 04/03/2018 11:41

No, you absolutely did right to do weight training/exercise as you were loosing. I think your PT has a point about working on building muscle, I think we may be a bit brainwashed to see the scales number as the success when a strong lean physique could be more attractive (and better for us!) You could work on building and then work on cutting. The more muscle you have, the better your body works at burning calories.
I love my bit of muscle, looking forward to returning to weights once I’ve addressed my back issues.

Kikisdeliveries · 04/03/2018 11:45

Not2 all the snow melted overnight here! It's even quite mild and almost pleasant. Hope the same joy reaches other parts of the country soon :)

Parts 1 & 2 of day plan complete, very short run as my running buddy has just got over flu and I've been out of it for Feb. Feels good to get back into it.

I'm hoping my lowest 2018 weigh in yesterday wasn't a complete anomaly and it sticks over the next week.

Kikisdeliveries · 04/03/2018 11:58

Freeniki yes to shape change through training. So I lost 50lb 4-5 years ago, but also took up various training stuff. I failed to maintain and am currently 20lb heavier than my lowest weight BUT I am not at all the same shape as I used to be at this weight.

The muscle and fitness has made a very positive difference. This is partly why I'm a bit crap at losing weight now, I'm carrying it better and am still very fit. The strength and fitness have become far more important to me than being skinny again. And why I get so damn miserable when I can't train

I don't know if that will resonate with you but I guess I'm trying to say don't fear the scales or even focus on them now as you have made such a positive difference to your body composition, strength and fitness. Your weight means something different for you now and fitting into xs sweaty Betty should tell you everything you need to know fat/weight wise!

Not2bObvious · 04/03/2018 12:21

Still lots of snow in my part of Ireland☹️ I cannot get out of the bloody bed!!!!

FreeNiki · 04/03/2018 13:25

All the snow melted here too.

Thanks guys. It does make more sense to train and weight lift and try and ignore the scale but it's a hard habit to break.

I feel much better in myself and am alot stronger and fitter.

I too get a bit raging when I can't train as I rely on it to keep me in shape rather than diet

Have the beginnings of a sore throat today. Hope it doesn't develop into more. Sad

slightlysoreboobs · 04/03/2018 18:19

I’ve been oddly not hungry at all today. Had some yogurt and fruit at 1ish and just had a veggie omelette for tea now, even though I wasn’t hungry for it, just because I thought I should! I’ve had to lie to mfp and tell it I’ve had an apple to make my calories go over 1000 so it didn’t have a paddy about me not eating enough! I’ll probs be starving tomorrow Grin

Feezles · 04/03/2018 19:35

Ha! I think I've got your appetite and mine, Slightly - I've eaten all the food today. I think I'll finish around maintenance calories so not a disaster. This weekend has been tough.

Kikisdeliveries · 04/03/2018 20:22

I've had an excellent eating and training day today which will hopefully balance out my Saturday roast/wine/chocolate. Who knows what the scales will make of it next week!

lastqueenofscotland · 05/03/2018 07:19

I actually by my standards had a really good weekend. Praying for a good result on Wednesday weigh in

Twoo · 05/03/2018 07:27

May I join you ladies. I am also on another thread. Your thread title totally got me and 7lbs has kind of been my monthly goal. I’m over a stone down and about 2 more to go.

Not2bObvious · 05/03/2018 07:30

Back to the bad Monday weigh in, up 2.2lb on Friday, up 1.2lb on yesterday due to a Chinese. Could have been worse, last Chinese brought a 4lb bloat with it - that fright kept me away from it for weeks! Did 5 miles on the treadmill so at least I got some activity in. It’s fine, most if not all will be gone by Wednesday. Working from home day as still weather issues but hopefully back to normal tomorrow. How’s everyone else doing?

Kikisdeliveries · 05/03/2018 08:20

Welcome Twoo, sounds like you're doing really well! Would you like share how you're losing?

Kikisdeliveries · 05/03/2018 08:25

Not2 Hopefully your back will improve at the same time the snow clears so you can get back in the game! For what it's worth, I know that with my ongoing back issues, once the acute pain is gone, if I don't run regularly it's more likely to seize up again.

I had an excellent Monday weigh in! Same as my lowest of the year weight on Saturday Smile

Not2bObvious · 05/03/2018 08:34

I find the running really helps my back kiki, I’m doing it for so long now I get antsy if I can’t get out. I walk miles but running makes me feel a great sense of achievement- although I don’t run fast or very far!
Very welcome twoo, you’re well on your way to your goal. Are you following a plan of sorts or calorie counting?

HairsprayBabe · 05/03/2018 08:45

Didn't have access to scales this morning but did not have a golden weekend by any stretch, cake, pizza, pub lunch etc.

Fast day today, I should be getting a start date for my new job this week.

ExP has moved all his stuff out and the house feels really weird.
