Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Link to the January thread here

Everyone welcome, new and old

Managed first miserable golden day of 7.
If I only lose half a pound this week I'll lose my shit

Feezles · 15/02/2018 20:47

Baked salmon (HUGE piece bought from the wholesaler) and green veg for me. Was going to have some new potatoes but I had a naughty snack after work.

TheDonald · 15/02/2018 22:11

Thanks not2b. That's what I was looking for.

Yes there's definitely a noticeable difference between January and last autumn. Lots of red lines!

I've got through day two of no sugar though. I really want to get back to that level of motivation.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 16/02/2018 06:52

Morning all! Weighed in this morning and I've lost 2lbs this week. So I'm down 4lbs since January, and have 11 left to my goal.

I have a cheese sandwich and a salad for lunch, not sure about dinner yet. I need to do a meal plan for next week at some point too.

Yeah Boop I would never have thought of bread as being highly processed, if that counts I need to take a look at my diet. I thought I ate quite healthily, but maybe not.

HairsprayBabe · 16/02/2018 07:23

If you buy the "fresh baked" stuff from supermarkets that isn't highly processed, but stuff like hovis, warburtons kingsmill etc. Are a loaf of tigerbread from ASDA is made on site that day with fresh ingredients (I have a pal who works in the bakery) but it is the same for all the big supermarkets.

10.2 again but I feel so much skinnier today! Seeing the girls from school tonight one of them us cooking, I think we are having spinach and ricotta tortalini and some sort of tomato marscapone sauce.... plus wine... dose not really sound diet friendly 😂

HappyGowerGirl · 16/02/2018 07:59

Hey all, Have fallen off this thread a bit. Have seemed to gained two lb despite having a reasonably good diet and NO wine😮 What's the point, I may as well have my usual glass or two! Haven't been able to run for three weeks (I'll) and it's my period, so maybe that's contributed to the gain. Would love to drop those pounds before the end of the month, let's see.

Good luck all!

Feezles · 16/02/2018 07:59

Bread is the main reason I can't do low carbBlush. I know such a lot of it is stuffed full of bad stuff but I just can't stop!

Down 1lb today, average looking good! So I'm much happier.

Parents arrive later for the weekend. I've got diet friendly meals planned and I'm going to count it all properly but there will there will be wine and I might not count it. Yes, I know it's cheating - so I'll see how I feel.

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2018 08:00

Down around .8 from yesterday’s post V day bloat, average so far this week is dropping, down .3 of a pound on last week so far, hoping to see .75-1lb down by Sunday. Sick as a small hospital today, bad stomach/throat/head. No drinks for me tonight, and so far no appetite except for tea. It’s eaely yet though and I see lots of buttery toast in my future.
Your evening sounds lovely hair and 10.2 is lovely & slim, the scales doesn’t tell the whole story - you getting dressed up? Still agog at your fab red dress!

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2018 08:07

Feezles why wouldn’t you track your wine? You’re only cheating yourself. Life happens, there’ll be night outs, family get together. Just write it down. Better still pre-fill what you think you’ll drink. I do that, put my 2 glasses of wine for dinner and then my 1-2 (to 3 to 4Blush) G&T. Then I know where I am and I’ll adjust the next day if need be. It means over time I can see where the flux can come from, can’t change what you don’t acknowledge (credit to Dr Phil😉)

Feezles · 16/02/2018 08:49

Ah, I know, Not - it's stupid really. I just want to relax a little without feeling guilty. But you're right, I need to record it.

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2018 09:27

Stop with the guilt mentality, your parents are visiting. This is a nice thing, unless you’re planning on going super loopy binge drinky, a few civilised glasses of wine is nothing to be guilty about. Enjoy🍷😉

Hoolahoophop · 16/02/2018 10:27

Loving some good losses. I'm down 1lb today from last Friday, but 2lb average of this week from last so happy with that. I'll eat a ton tomorrow though, just baking 2 dozen fairy cakes so far and a marble cake to come. We are having a tea party tomorrow for the dcs Birthday's.

I wonder how GPs are coping with the rise in people doing sport/yoga etc? There are some horrific yoga injuries believe it or not

Yes from people who dont listen to their teacher ot do dvds at home and push themselves too hard. The first principle of yoga is Ahimsa meaning non violence to others and yourself and you must not do yourself harm in practice either.

Having spent 15 years practicing yoga Ive never had a problem.

I would wager GPs are coping far better with sporting injuries that can be treated and healed than they are coping with the obesity crisis.

NewYearNiki · 16/02/2018 14:57

Im not tracking weight so much now. My body has changed so much and has alot more muscle I am concentrating on fitness and weight training.

I only weigh once in a while. I am delaying my weigh in as Im premenstrual and carrying water weight.

Softpebbles · 16/02/2018 16:06

Still around he same here. However I am back at the gym so feeling happy about that.

Never done yoga so wouldn't know!

I am looking forward to the weekend although out on Sunday for dinner and that will involve wine and afters 😁

Otherwise all good.

ponygirlcurtis · 16/02/2018 16:17

Flowers Hairspray, what a scary thing, hope your grandad is doing OK.

IheartCaptainHolt · 16/02/2018 16:22

I'm (just about) hanging on. 3lb down for the month so far though which is good. I agree that February is bloody hard work though

twinkledag · 16/02/2018 16:26

Flowers hairspray

I haven't been 100% good all week, I was bouncing around 2lbs off nicely but today 2lbs up so I need to be good this weekend!

Haven't exercised since last Thursday Shock

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 16/02/2018 16:41

Hope your grandad's ok Hairspray, how frightening Flowers

KOKO 1400 is a very sensible number, all things considered. It sounds like you may be on to something with the nourishing food plan!

Hope your DD's audition went well Boop!
