Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Everyone welcome, new and old

Mmmmm I love sugar snaps!

Food shopping tonight, must go AFTER dinner or will buy all sorts of rubbish....

lastqueenofscotland · 08/02/2018 18:37

Had been really golden but gave in to a massive chocolate flapjack baked by my colleague Blush
I think I still come in at 1300 calls for the day with 6 miles run + at least an hour traipsing around in foot for work so not all bad.

Ofthread · 08/02/2018 22:56

Can I join you? Haven’t weighed myself for months, but scared because I’ve been ‘trying’ a bit but don’t think I’ve lost any weight.

Not2bObvious · 09/02/2018 07:13

You’re welcome ofthread, do you think you’ll manage to weigh in soon or you could just go on measurements/clothes fitting. I’m such a slave to the scales, I don’t think I’ll ever ditch my addiction to it. Not that it brings me good news! Totm, bloated/bunged up, crampy and up a pound. sake. At least it’s a reason of sorts. Have kept to my cals/steps for 4 days, now I need to replicate that for the next 4 days.

HairsprayBabe · 09/02/2018 07:22

10.1 hope it is water retention/bloat curry was a quite salty last night and I did't "go" yesterday either... still 5lbs in a week isn't too shabby deff holding out for an eggy weekend, DP will be thrilled 😂

lastqueenofscotland · 09/02/2018 07:41

Had planned to go for a run before work today but my trainers were still soaking wet from running last night and I couldn't face it Blush
Did 30 mins of abs and arse instead.

Bought some nice apples to take in to work so I'm not tempted to dive into crisps when I'm hungry at 3pm too
Seeing new man tonight Grin

Feezles · 09/02/2018 08:03

I put my big girl pants on this morning (literally! Ha!) and took a 'before' underwear selfie this morning, so I have a comparison for progress.

On the topic of calories not being equal, I've been experimenting with not counting the calories in non-starchy fruit and veg because 1) it's so low and 2) it might encourage me to snack on them and not something naughtier. I've abandoned it for a while now while I try and get a racing start, but will probably go back to it in a few weeks as it seemed to work quite well and it was easier and I am lazy

Half a pound down this morning - pretty pleased.

Feezles · 09/02/2018 08:06

Oh, and Claire - I wouldn't recommend the London 10k in July. I have done it myself, as have a number of friends, and it is very expensive to enter and very badly organised (they often run out of water/medals/goody bags, things like that). I'm happy to recommend a better race if you're keen - there are a lot around.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 09/02/2018 08:24

Down 0.2 lb on yesterday, but still up on my lowest. Didn't I read somewhere that exercise increases water retention? I've upped my exercise this week, so I'm hoping that's why...?

Hoolahoophop · 09/02/2018 08:25

I was thinking about plateauing and getting the motivation to carry on. So hard. Congrats and well done Tv and hair glad the eggs are working for you.

I'm pleased down to 9st 2 this morning. So only 2lb down so far for February but it's also knocked off the 1lb gain from last weekend. I'm motivated to be good this weekend and try for a 3lb loss next week to take me under 9 Stine.

PipGirl404 · 09/02/2018 08:36

Hey all!
I've lost my way!! Haven't weighed in a few days and I'm too scared to Blush
Hairspray I really need to do this eggy thing!!! Just got soooo much planned at the weekends!

Feezles · 09/02/2018 08:45

Weekends are my nemesis! So much harder not to nibble!

TheDonald · 09/02/2018 10:36

Grrr. After 4 weeks of 10 stone 10.6 I got down to 10 8 yesterday, only to be back at 10 10.6 today! The lovely curry yesterday is no doubt to blame.

I've got a busy weekend with visitors coming and there's no way I'm missing my pancakes on Tuesday so I have decided to start on Wednesday by giving up sugar for lent. The aim is to lose 7lb in 40 days and hit my target of 10 3.

Bring it on!

keep could it be increasing muscle if you have been hitting the gym? How do you feel the eating has been? The truth about getting fit suggested that most calorie counting tools are pretty inaccurate.

Work threw me a surprise party leaving lunch buffet and I have eaten bloody loads

bugger.

Not2bObvious · 09/02/2018 14:37

keep don’t lose faith, you didn’t gain 2lb overnight, it’s just flux. In the same vein (and you lot will probably ban me for saying this) you don’t lose 2lb overnight. Although if it stays off then it’s the culmination of hard work over a week/10 days with a deficit enough to drop that weight. Be patient - whatever you do don’t lose your sh*t over the weekend cause you’re disheartened.
Think of how many times you’ve seen someone say they’ve lost 3lb one week, back up 1 the following week, down 1 the next week - it takes time and fluctuations are incredibly common, linear weight loss is the dream but rare. Positively sucks but the math is the math😉

lastqueenofscotland · 09/02/2018 14:51

Aww that's lovely of them though hair! When I left my old job we all ordered in pizza... again not Diet friendly.
I've managed to stick to it well today being busy is a lifesaver

ChasedByBees · 09/02/2018 15:59

One meal won’t ruin your efforts Hair. Just get back to it tonight. Smile

ponygirlcurtis · 09/02/2018 16:32

When do you start the new job, Hairspray?

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 10/02/2018 07:38

129.4lb this morning! WooHoo! So glad to be out of the 130s. That's a 2.4lb loss in a week and I am chuffed because I have been golden this week and it's clearly worked.

Leaving today for 5 days away visiting my parents so I suspect I won't lose much this coming week as I won't get the time to get out for long walks like I do at home and will have less influence over what I eat, but as long as I don't go too crazy I think I'll be ok - hopefully won't gain any back anyway. Still aiming for my goal of 125lb by the time we go on holiday at end of March.

TheDonald · 10/02/2018 09:45

Well done rylan Flowers

I've had a 1lb increase this week but it's hardly surprising. I've eaten rubbish and I can hardly walk because I've got a calf injury.

I feel like I'm falling apart! I'm going to the doctor this morning and I'm not sure where to start on my list of minor ailments!

Bring on some sunshine. I'm sure that would fix me.

Feezles · 10/02/2018 10:31

Well done, Rylan! I have my parents visiting next weekend, which is also daunting. Obviously I get more choice of what we eat than you do if you visit, but I still need to make sure what I offer is 'nice' enough too. And there will be wine - that is non negotiable!

TheDonald - ha! Yes, I know what you mean. Last time I went to the GP, it was to ask about a referral for my broken Achilles, and the eczema on my eyelid, and the problem with the skin on my foot. That's without mentioning my dodgy knee or the eczema on my back!

Team Slenderista! I'm trying a new weight-loss tactic! I've bought some new jeans that fit me right now (unavoidable because my current ones have worn throughBlush) - so clearly the weight is going to tumble off me so they won't fit in a few weeks time and I'll have wasted the cashGrin
