Update on my latest. Have now lost 17lbs in 3 weeks and am beginning to get some nice comments from people. My clothes are positively baggy! Have got through weekend away with no food or alcohol, although the bbq was difficult so just went indoors. Am enjoying the meetings- spend most of it laughing as random stories are exchanged. We were given the 'recipes' tonight so may give some of them a try over the weekend. Still a way to go though!!

Well done sammac - keep up the good work - positive comments from other people really boost your motivation don't they?

What are the recipes - never been given those

that's incredible yorkiegirl - you are such an inspiration! (Sorry if that sounds a bit crawlery but you know what i mean )

sammac · 10/05/2007 21:55

Recipes are for muffins/ice cream/smoothie/lollies/poppadoms/crisps- just using the shakes, soups and bars in a different way. I'll post some here if you want.

mummycan · 10/05/2007 22:35

That would be useful when you get a chance sammac. Thank you

oinker · 11/05/2007 16:02

i tried the chocolate one............

It wasn't quite like a muffin but more like a thick sauce. It was really realy nice....

How did you get it to look like a muffin?

how much water and how long in the microwave?

I am thinking of trying the poppadom one tonight but am struggling in finding the recipe.

I found it yesterday but am struggling to get it today/???

One poppadom recipe coming right up...........

Mix a soup pack into a smooth paste, spread on a plate or greaseproof paper and microwave for 1 1/2 - 2 mins. When it starts to bubble open up and let it settle for a second, keep opening and letting it settle until (the poppadom) starts to turn golden(don't take your eyes off it!!)When it is golden brown take it out and let it cool, then peel off and enjoy.

Be areful of overcooking as this will make them taste slightly bitter.

sammac · 12/05/2007 18:47

Ice cream

Put 11 ice cubes into a strong liquidiser and crush the ise. Add a food pack (chocolate is good) add a small amount of water(about 2 tbsp) and liquidise for 5 mins. You end up with a big bowl of 'ice cream'

oinker · 13/05/2007 11:13

Thanks for that.....

I tried the crisps....a couple were nice and crispy but the others were a bit soft. i needed to keep them in for a little longer.

Nevertheless they were nice. made a change from the soup.

Thanks

OMG............

Banana ice cream is absolutely delicious.... TRY IT....

I did it with 12 ice cubes in a blender.. Blend to a hard slush. Add the sachet and 2.5 tablespoons of water... Blend a little more and VOILA....

It is yummy...

Had my weigh in last night - now lost a total of 2 and a half stones - am starting management next week (two weeks early as going on holiday). Would have liked to have lost more but more importantly must keep what I've lost off!

Well done Mummycan. How many weeks did that take? It looks great to see it down in black % white. Have you changed size yet? My Childminder told me today that the trousers I had on yesterday looked too bagg y and I should get new samller ones! What a way to start the day

mummycan · 16/05/2007 14:36

Just starting week 12 - can probably now get into large size 12 (previously 18 was tight) but haven't yet bought any new clothes - just washing my jeans at 75 degrees and tumble drying till completely dry to shrink them. To be honest I'm a bit scared about going in to a shop, picking up clothes and they being too small. Also don't want to be sneered at by skinny young trendy things in clothes shops.

After half term I am shopping with a friend to buy jeans - she has lost weight with LL as well so knows how I feel. Also I have changed shape - I now have a flat bum (not sure if good or bad), ordinary sized boobs - were 36 E/F before, but still have saddlebags - wierd shape eh?

It's lovely when people notice that you've lost weight isn't it? Hold on to the feeling - it'll help you if you have a tough moment,

Good luck to everyone on this thread - keep it up.

YorkieGirl - that is a FANTASTIC weight loss - well done.

sammac · 17/05/2007 21:15

Good going mummycan! Keep it up.

Just back from my meeting and another 4 off, which makes it 21 lbs in 28 days. Am dead chuffed and can see that elusive 3 stones on the horizon. Not that I'm stopping then- haven't discussed that yet, although we were talking about what weights would put you in healthy BMIs. Interesting chats with the other girls doing it and hearing their tales.

I feel a black coffee coming on!

cheekymonk · 20/05/2007 11:13

Hi Ladies,
Well I am in week 2. I lost 16Ibs last week and was thrilled. I am however finding it really hard. I had 1 fishfinger and a about 5 oven chips last night and a few mouthfuls of pasta on friday night. Thats all, I managed to get back on it but feel terrible and weak willed. Have been keeping extra busy to burn off the extra calories. Can all the people that do lighterlife HONESTLY say that they never have a nibble?!

cheekymonk · 20/05/2007 16:52

bump

sammac · 20/05/2007 17:22

Not a crumb- but there have been times when it's been really hard to keep it that way. Was hungry yesterday for some reason but just drank (even more) water!! Smell of lamb coming form my kitchen is mmmmmmmmmmmmso have to go upstairs now!!

mummycan · 21/05/2007 16:12

Sorry to hear that you have been struggling cheekymonk. A friend of mine who did LL said that if she ate she felt much much hungrier ( something to do with ketosis and insulin I think). However she did say that if you know you are going to eat try and stick to lean protein as at least then you don't come out of ketosis and have headaches and withdrawal symptoms again. Just a thought - hope it helps.

On a more positive note WELL DONE for going back on to the diet and fantastically well done on losing 16lbs in a week - that is truly amazing - good luck CM

I am really impressed by you lot.. I had never heard of LL being reading Yorkies thread..

I have a couple of questions that I was hoping some of you would answer.

Have you felt light headed, have you been able to run around with your children as before (if you could before)...

Have you had the energy to do exercise whilst on LL?

For those that have lost a lot - is there the issue of excess skin, as one of my biggest issues is that I have a huge stomach and am worried that losing weight so quicky (hopefully) would leave me with loads of excess stomach skin.. (although to be honest, if I had a choice of huge fat stomach of lose flabby skin, I would take the skin...

I would like to believe that if I did manage to lose enough weight I could keep it off, as I don't think I have a problem with food as such, just eat far too much, too big portions rather than crap..

Thanks for your time (hopefully) and good luck with the rest of your LL diet...
