I HOPE THERE ARE AFEW MORE OF YOU OUT THERE.

I STARTED THE LIGHTER LIFE PROGRAMME 4 DAYS AGO AND HAD MY FIRST DRP IN WEIGH A KEOTONE TEST THIS MORNING.

9LB'S....

I WAS GOB SMACKD.......

WHAT A RESULT AND BELEIVE IT OR NOT IT WAS EASY. NO HUNGER OR CRAVINGS. APPARENTLY FIRST FOUR DAYS ARE THE WORST THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE A MID WEEK DROP IN.

I AM CHUFFED TO BITS...

IS ANYONE ELSE DOING IT?????

Hi mummycan thanks for your supportive message. Am still on the diet and weighed today and have lost 6Ibs this week. i agree I think eating does make you hungrier and makes you realise what you are missing which again makes it harder.
I went clother shopping today and fit back into a 24 skirt when I was a 26 so chuffed to bits. I do feel so much better about myself all ready so will try harder!
Heifer, so far yes I have felt light headed on and off but mainly first couple of days when I also felt spaced out. At first I struggled to keep up with ds but noticed today I could keep up with him better.
I think I could cope with exercise now but even a 25 min walk took a lot out of me the 1st week.
For me this diet is very much the last resort, it is motivating to lose the weight quickly but boy is it hard in my opinion! best of luck whatever you choose to do x

Sounds great YG, thanks for the answers..

jenk1 · 22/05/2007 15:08

hiya YG it was really nice seeing you on saturday and she looks brill for all the rest of you on LL.

im really interested in this diet, to me the fact that you dont have to "choose" between diffrent foods and adding up values appeals.

how do you go about finding out, do they send you information out?

TIA

Had my 2nd weigh in today. lost 4 pounds . I was a bit disappointed after 16 last week but that will teach me for nicking ds's leftovers! Def back on the straight and narrow now!

sammac · 25/05/2007 01:18

Had my class and lost another 5, so that's 26lbs in 5 weeks! Hopefully that means I'll get 2 stones next week- unbelievable! Had my first night out tonight since starting, and got lots of compliments. Roll on next week.

cheekymonk · 25/05/2007 15:36

Well done sammac- that is brilliant. It is a bit easier in the hotter weather I think bar bbqs of course!

sammac · 15/06/2007 23:50

Just bumping this to see how everyone is doing? Anyone still on this?
I'm now on day 57 and still doing well- pleased to be past the halfway mark

barmybird · 25/06/2007 21:08

Hi all. I'm joining this a little late! but just thought I'd let you know. I started LL in Jan 07 and by the end of April I had lost 4 stone, I've since lost another half stone during the maintainence program. I've gone from a size 22 to a size 12-14. I feel great.

It is hard going back to real food and avoiding all the pit falls which caused the weight gain in the first place. But I am maintaining, long may it continue!

crazylazydaisy · 25/06/2007 21:13

Down the thread it says it costs £66 a week?!! Is that true?

gingernutlover · 26/06/2007 08:12

crazylazydaisy, yep LL is £66 a week but for that you get food packs, a wiegh in and an actual councelling session with the trained councellor in a group with other dieters. My SIL is a LL councellor and she has had fantastic results - so it obviously works

however, me and DH are doing cambridge diet which starts from around £30 a week for women under 5,8 tall but you get just a briefmeeting with your "councellor" to wiegh in a maybe a few tips, no indepth councelling, i guess it depends how much you think you can do it alone.

sammac · 26/06/2007 20:13

Weld done barmybird- you must feel great now. I'm almost in a 14- can get buttoned and zipped but still too tight to go out in- but it is in sight- hopefully by the time I go my holidays next week! I've still got 4 weeks to go and then I'll decide what to do next- keeping my options open.

I was getting my blood pressure done tonight and the practice nurse was so impressed with me that she's going to start too!! ( obviously not with me but with the results )

barmybird · 28/06/2007 20:56

If its any help, the cost did intially worry me but when I looked at what I was spending in Tesco's, going out to eat and wine! I was actually better off on lighterlife. That may not be the case for all, I know its different for me as a single parent, but before you discount it because of cost just sit and work out what you are currently spending. I know I was easily spending 15-20 quid on wine each week

It has been worth the money to feel and look as I do now. I do feel its worth paying for the counselling. It really makes you look at why you eat. I hadn't realised that I ate and drank alot more when my dd was at her dads. So now when she goes, I make sure I have no goodies in the house and plan to do something.

It does depend whats right for you. This was right for me at this time.

oinker · 01/07/2007 15:18

Hiya..

I have been doing LL since april....

And have lost 4 st already. I am on week 11.

I will definately be doing maintenance.
I am really chuffed about the loss. i feel loads better and look good too.

LL is definately recommended if you want a change of life style otherwise you could be wasing your money.

You have to be open minded and willing to learn about why you are waht you are..

barmybird · 01/07/2007 21:59

Well done oinker!

It does feel beter doesn't it, shifting this awful weight? It is also, as you said, about being willing to change your life and how you deal with difficult situations.

Keep going. Maintainence is worth doing!

oinker · 03/07/2007 08:40

barmybird

I have a holiday booked in mid august but plan on starting the maintenance programme two weeks prior to this...

What will I be allowed to consume by then?

I realise i wil need the LL sachets but what food (if any) will I be able to eat?

gingernutlover · 03/07/2007 08:45

hi anyone on lightter life who might be able to reassure me

i have been on cambridge (same as LL) for a week and am having diahrrea. wondered if this is cos of the diet and does it last??????

oinker · 03/07/2007 15:29

sorry hun..............

I am on LL no runs just constipation....

OP posts:
barmybird · 03/07/2007 19:34

Hi Oinker, yep you will be able to eat by then! but it is limited. Basically salad and plain chicken or fish. You have 1 meal, and three food packs, plus 3 or 4 litres of water a day (can't remember exact amount!)I can dig my book out if you need more detail.

As for diarrhoea, I agree that wasn't a problem, more like constipation.

sammac · 20/07/2007 15:57

Is anyone still doing this? Am on my final week and was wondering about everyone else.

Am I on my own doing this now? My latest results are that I've now lost 58lbs and am comfortably in a size 14. Going to continue so that I can fit a size 12- probably about another 4 weeks- yahoo!!

dalek · 15/08/2007 18:09

Hello everyone - newbie here - I did LL from March to June - lost 3 stone - have recently been on holiday and regained 1/2 stone which I cannot shift - am thinking of doing a month of development in september (after my daughter goes back to school). Does anyone know - would I have to do management for 12 weeks again - have to confess only lasted 4 weeks at manangement last time.

All replies gratefully received

dalek · 15/08/2007 18:16

Also - well done to everyone on the weight you've lost so far.
