I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

I have had thyroid issues, PCOS, am pre diabetic, and have 2 children under 5. I keep giving myself excuses for why I am overweight, but have got to the stage where I just need to give it my best. Here's hoping 😂

IsabelleSE19 · 23/01/2018 12:41

I'm 41 - yes, it seems much harder to lose, and also very easy to gain!

Fasting again today - am hungry now but have a stinking cold so can't taste anything anyway Sad

TheVeryThing · 23/01/2018 12:52

I'm 43 and it's depressing how hard it is to lose weight now.
I caught sight of my reflection as I was getting dressed at the weekend and I looked pregnant! As I'm pear-shaped my waistline used to be one of my better feature but not anymore.
I'm 5' 4" and weigh 11 stone, I have quite a small frame so aiming for 9 stone. Carbs and chocolate are my downfall, and I can binge on quite a bit when I'm stressed.
Using MFP at the moment and trying to fit in 30 minutes of exercise a day. Last night I went for a run (a v slow jog really) while ds2 was at beavers, only 27 minutes but it's a start.

BarrysnotLyons · 23/01/2018 13:42

41 here too with 3 small dc and arthritis. Determined to get back to a healthy weight this time round. Enjoying celery sticks now!

lurkingfromhome · 23/01/2018 13:58

I'm 50 and yes, losing weight is frankly a bit of a bastard now. I think you just need to go in it for the long haul and focus more on the health benefits rather than the actual weight loss, which hopefully will come. I'm definitely at the point where I don't even aim for anything more than 1 pound a week. If I do manage a pound a week consistently, though, I'm really pretty pleased.

And yes I weight myself obsessively every day exactly because of what primallass said - what if on your weigh-in day you just happen to be having one of those horrible fluctuations and you weigh three pounds more than you did the day before. So depressing. My DH is also losing weight and is only weighing himself once a month. Don't know how he does it.

BrioLover · 23/01/2018 14:40

Hi everyone, forgot to weigh in yesterday so did it just now instead - I'm 10 stone 8 lbs, so that's down 1lb from last week. I'm surprised as I didn't really think about my consumption over the weekend, or yesterday. Gave myself a kick today and am back on it.

Cath2907 · 23/01/2018 16:05

I'm 40. Will let you know if it is harder to lose weight than it was when I was in my late 30s.

ObiJuanKenobi · 23/01/2018 16:16

I'm 24 and finding it really bloody hard Grin

lurkingfromhome · 23/01/2018 16:21

Back from lunch with DM (M&S café) where I was worried about the diet-friendly options on offer but found a chicken and roast pepper flatbread thing at around 390 cals. Probably the least-calorific option there, despite the carbs in the flatbread, and I did not have cake and had had no breakfast in preparation. So should be fine for today.

Spag bol for dinner except I'll be having a modest portion of brown rice instead of the spag and will have a big Greek salad alongside.

IsabelleSE19 · 23/01/2018 17:49

My fasting dinner will be Hairy Bikers roast cod wrapped in Parma ham, with plenty a shit-ton of veg. And a satsuma or kiwi for dessert to help fight the cold!

Tomorrow am having posh meal for DH's birthday - hope I'll be able to taste something by then!

Well done Brio on the loss!

ObiJuanKenobi · 23/01/2018 20:21

I've been non stop at work all day and not eaten a thing so I'm making a vegetable curry and basmati rice for dinner!

Well done everyone Wine

MissMary0fSweden · 23/01/2018 21:18

So today was:

B: kale and mango smoothie. Oat flakes and oat milk.

L: Mixed bean soup (AGAIN...) packet of Worcester Sauce French Fries. Satsuma.

D: bacon and fried egg in a wholemeal sandwich thin Blush

Weigh day for me tomorrow.

NancyJoan · 23/01/2018 21:28

Weighed this morning. 11st 5. Could be worse, after the weekend’s carb-love-in. This week will be better.

poorpaws · 23/01/2018 23:16

Lurking thank you, I’ll give yours a go soon. I’ve heard coleslaw is lovely with pineapple juice in it.

Not doing well at all. I’ve been stressed and always turn to food and I went out for lunch today and didn’t make the wisest of choices. Plan to do better tomorrow.

Well done to everyone who has lost, it’s very hard ☹️

Tangoandcreditcards · 24/01/2018 08:28

It's SO hard poorpaws. I'm so tired and hungry. Haven't found the time or energy to do any exercise but am doing ok on the food front.

I'm basically doing:
B: Porridge/L: soup/D: soup on days when I'm in the office (mon-thu)
And then not snacking / less bread on the other 3 days. Amazed by those of you that are properly fasting.

I do know though that I always have to start dieting right at the start of my cycle (started at day 3) because I can only manage it until about day 25 when it all goes to biscuit.

Well done to everyone has lost weight and everyone who is trying.
I weighed myself this morning and was down 1lb since sunday, could be back up again tomorrow so won't get too excited.
I think i'm still eating too much bread, but we are skint at the moment (payday on friday, thank God) so can't really afford to stock up on healthier options at the moment.
Planning to go for a run this evening but really need to drag myself out of bed earlier in the morning & do my exercise then.

lurkingfromhome · 24/01/2018 09:58

I've put on 0.4 pounds overnight. Yes I know I shouldn't be obsessing about this but the constant pound off, half a pound back on nonsense that goes on for weeks and weeks is really tiresome. I'd better be down a pound on the next weigh-in. Argh.

Blankscreen · 24/01/2018 12:46

I've lost another pound.

I'm feeling a little disheartened that it's so slow but trying to think of the long goal and feeling nice at easter.

I think I look better and I pretty sure I've lost some cms but annoyingly I didn't take any measurements so don't know for sure.

ObiJuanKenobi · 24/01/2018 12:54

A friend sent me this today and I thought I'd share - sorry if you're eating when you see it Grin

Oh Fuck, I am 2.5 stone over weight.
naughtycurly · 24/01/2018 15:12

Obi well when you put it like that.....

OP posts:
TheVeryThing · 24/01/2018 15:32

Obi that's a great image to keep in mind for when you're tempted to over indulge.

ObiJuanKenobi · 24/01/2018 16:17

I've been very good today, feeling motivated!
I'm really struggling with keeping active with the horrid rain though.

Breakfast: banana and a rice cake
Lunch: roasted veg (sprouts, carrots and broccoli)
Early dinner: carrot and coriander soup with one slice of bread&butter

TheVeryThing · 24/01/2018 17:34

Blank, it’s so hard to be patient & play the long game.
I try telling myself that Easter/summer will come along anyway and I can choose whether to be happy with myself when it does or give up & stay as I am (or get even fatter).
